The central location - close proximity to the rialto (5 mins) and set on the grand canal. Friendly staff, extensive breakfast, beautiful setting and furnishings If you do not arrive by water taxi, it is a little tricky locating the hotel around the back streets, but the locals were more than happy to help with directions and there are sine signs when you get closer - watch out if you bring lots of heavy luggage, many narrow streets and lots of bridges to cross which are all stepped! |

The location is great, near to shopping, vaporetto, restaurants...The hotel decor was really nice. Breakfast was the same every day, but was good. They have a free taxi service to the Murano Island, which is great, but be aware!! Don't buy anything at the gallery they are going to take you, or you'll be ripped off. We travel with our two kids (3 and a half and a 2-year old) and they were ging to give us a room in hte third floor (no elevators), we asked for a room in a lower floor and they gave us one on the second floor. If you travel by train, take a vaporetto and not a water taxi, it's much cheaper and depending on how many days you are going to stay, you can buy a bus pass for less money. They charge for a baby crib (15 euros per night!). Internet service was down most of the time we were there (5 days). We were there on Christmas '09, and the waters were high during the night (2 nights only) and we'd wake up with this horrible smell, but that was everywhere in Venice if you where on the canal, so that was unavoidable. |

Historic building with character; fabulous views over the Grand Canal overlooking the fish market and the Palaccio d'Oro; in a relatively untouristy and quiet part of town. |

San Cassiano is a romantic hotel right on the Grand Canal in Venice Italy. It is centrally located near the fish market and within walking distance to St. Mark's. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful venetian hotel. |

Location. To get there i would recommend to use the public transportation big passenger boats (not the taxi = 80€). Hotel is located on the "Grande Canal", and there is a little bar with a few tables on the canal side, that's nice. Hotel should (Maybe there is) have listed on their homepage the directions and advices how to reach the hotel. |

It has a wonderful position on the Grand Canal opposite Ca' Doro and close to the Rialto market. It is very comfortable and evokes the epoch in which it thrived as a private palazzo. Breakfasts in the dining area overlooking the Grand Canal are a delight. |

Although we were aware the hotel would be difficult to find initially, it was well worth finding. This hotel is a hidden gem by the Grand Canal in a quiet area of Venice near the fish market and within easy walking distance of the Rialto. It has balconies overlooking the canal at ground floor level in the bar area - perfect for a chilling out after a day sightseeing, or a last drink before bed and on the second floor in the breakfast room. There is also a pretty little courtyard at the rear with tables and chairs. Lots of good local restaurants within walking distance. The fact there was no lift may prove difficult for some guests. |

Nice old fashioned hotel in the city area. Good breakfast. Quiet room. Everything worked well and the hotel was clean. We made reservation 4 months in advance and we did not get the room reserved for the first night. We were in single room with an extra bed which was not for an adult. |

The nighttime employees at the hotel provided excellent service and help when we needed it. The breakfast was very good with a wide selection and the location just a 5-10 min walk to the Rialto. There´s a great little porch right on the Grand Canal where you can watch all the traffic go by with a cup of coffee. I was a bit disappointed with the room on arrival. We picked it because of the romantic idea of staying a restored palace, and while fully aware that this is not a five-star luxury hotel, it didn´t quite have that feel. We requested a room change on arrival and were not very well received. It seemed to have been understood as a complaint rather than a request. It would be helpful if Booking. |

The prestigious Palace Bonvecchiati is located in the heart of the city, close to St. Marks Square. Enjoy the ideal balance between past elegance and present-day facilities. |
Next to La Fenice, Venice’s historic theatre and opera house, Hotel Dell’Opera is a 2 minute walk from St. Mark's Square and only 10 minutes from Rialto Bridge. |
Set directly on the canal bank this elegant hotel features comfortable guest rooms, a traditional restaurant, and a panoramic roof terrace. Walk to St. Mark’s Square in 5 minutes. |
Hotel Rialto has one of the best views of Rialto Bridge in Venice. It is set right next to the Grand Canal and provides beautifully decorated rooms and suites. |
