Hotel Santa Maria Novella  

Stayed in a junior suite, the room was huge and luxurious and had a wonderful view of Santa Maria Novella Church, breakfast was delicious and staffs were friendly.

The room was directly above a bar, people got drunk and sang all nite, especially at weekends. And there was an ambulance center right across the park in front of the hotel, we could hear siren all nite.

Proximity to train station for an excellent quality hotel.A smaller hotel giving a more intimate atmosphere. The hotel decoration is classic modern florentine with an old world charm. Lots of character

This hotel is actually 2 buildings with floors on different levels. We needed 2 different lifts and 2 staircases (1 with 6 steps/1 with 2 steps) to get to our room in the 2nd building. Our room then had 20 steps from the living/bathroom area to the attic bedroom - for us very quaint..The hallways (in keeping with decor) are darkened with twists and turns. In general I would not advise this hotel for elderly people or mobility impaired people - who might require a flatter and more general hotel layout..

The hotel was perfect and we will return the next time we are back in Florence. The stuff was very kind, we had the chance to check-in much earlier in our junior suite. This room is really to recommend. The breakfast was very delicious. The room was huge, clean and nice. The location of the hotel can not be better. For almost the first time there is absolutely nothing to complain about! A must whenever you stay for a weekend in Florence.

The WiFi has to work better! They should take care of this!

Very nice hotel, beautifuly decorated. Friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast excellent. Roof terrace must be great in summer (we enjoyed it in December). Fantastic location: 5 minutes walk from main train station and minutes away from the centre of Florence.

Staying at Hotel Santa Maria Novella was a very nice experience. The hotel was very well furnished and decorated. The room was beautiful, with marble bathroom and luxurious textiles. The bed was very comfortable, all the facilities clean and well kept. Room service was excellent. Breakfast was good (though I missed porridge and boiled eggs!). The location is superb! I certainly recommend to pay the extra euro for a room with a view of Santa Maria Novella - magical! With a brisk walk your at the Duomo in 10 minutes and at the train station in 5 minutes. Staff friendly, helpful and smiling all the time!

The breakfast room was very beautiful but a bit too small to accomodate all the guests and on few mornings people had to wait in line for some time to get a seat.

It's a beautiful hotel. Newly decorated and very well done. The breakfast was one of the best Ive had in Italy. I would stay there again. Alice Gates Houston

As I checked off the staff was very helpful. The room very clean and very quiet. As we left very early they asked if we wanted a breakfast to take with us, very nice.

Hello.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bell man was excellent and very friendly as we saw him coming and going. The breakfast area was wonderfully decorated and the food choices were perfect. Fantastic location, great room with awesome views of the church and square, clean luxury bathroom, excellent breakfast, nice and professional staff (with the exception of the WiFi problem below)

WiFi in room didn't work and no-one on staff could help. Even in the common areas it was sporadic depending on which signal you picked up. Parking was expensive and it took about 1/2 hour to get the car (but not too big of a problem because they told you to plan ahead if you needed the car).
