Hotel Santa Maria Novella    

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even in the middle of the night! Breakfast was excellent, fabulous bacon, fruit and pastries, and a great selection of drinks. The location is great, easy walk to the station, and in comfortable range of all attractions. We loved our stay, and would go back like a shot.

Hotel is in great condition, looks like recently refurbished. Nice furniture, not too modern, but definitely also not outdated. Very clean, great bathroom. Very friendly staff. For Italian standards excellent breakfast. Location is great, everything within walking distance. Really nothing negative, would choose it anytime again.

Nothing in the hotel, really. Only Italy has become so expensive, unbelievable. Especially restaurants and bars - it is like double what you would pay in other parts of Europe, without being better in any way. Poor Italy...

The rooftop views from our room of the ENTIRE CITY. Also the perfect round picture window showcasing the Duomo over our head board...

Fantastic location, very helpful, knowledgable staff. Fresh breakfast with local fair. Gorgeous room, very comfortable and cleaned thoroughly each day. Roof garden for late afternoon drinks.

I loved the staff, the bright breakfast room, the quality of the food, the location, the ambiance.

The room was not well enough lit for me, especially the closet. I need an outlet in the bathroom for a hair curler. None was available. The Internet signal was weak and spotty.

This was my second trip to the Hotel SMN and it was faultless. Location was excellent, the staff could not have been nicer, breakfast fresh and delicious, dinner recommendations from the hotel were terrific we stayed 4 nights and every suggestion was great. Our room was lovely and serviced very well. We will be back.

The hotel is amazing, we stayed at the suite room 601, and it has two great balconies looking all around. The room it self has a round window that look at the Florence dome, it is like a real picture. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for romance!!!!!!!!

The Hotel was lovely with helpful, friendly staff in the Reception area. They were extremely helpful in locating gluten-free restaurants at my request. The location was great and within walking distance from the train station. There was a beautiful view into Santa Maria Novella Basilica and piazza from the room.

I have Celiac Disease & so breakfast was disappointing - rice cakes or a bread roll. I was unable to eat the scrambled eggs or diced fruit due to possible cross-contamination (not the Hotels fault). I requested a boiled egg instead and was told I would have to pay extra for it. Considering I had contacted the hotel prior to my visit & I couldn't eat most of what was on offer I hoped for more assistance from the staff in the breakfast room.

Good location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent bathroom by Italian hotel standards, free wireless which was very fast. A real solid good three star hotel (Ive had four star hotels of worse quality - but again, Italy.)

considering myself a very picky person, but this hotel tick all my boxes - love the interior, staff, breakfast, location, value for money.... I even have slight fear that i will never have a better hotel stay experience, as Hotel SMN sets the bar so high...strongly recommend especially comparing to my hotel experience in Rome...

breakfast was lovely, but we were not offered tea or coffee, could not make eye contact with staff who were busy resetting tables. When we finally asked for coffee, staff carried on setting tables before finally , reluctantly bringing our hot drink.We were not the only guests who encountered this. Such a pity as everything else about the hotel was spot on.

The hotel consist of three buildings of different floor arrangement,hence the route from reception to the room in the third building is a complicated and treacherous one,one can end in a boiler room;

- The decoration and overall ambience of the hotel and the room. Especially the "library" and the reading materials available in the "library". - The spaciousness of the room, the bed, the slipper, the bath towels, the "heating" rack, the washing basin in the toilet. - Staff are mostly helpful and friendly except 1 who appeared snobbish sometimes. - The hotel's proximity to the train station, some of the museums and shopping areas.

- We were charged a higher rate for the last day of our stay which we were not informed when we did the online booking. - We were always only given 1 bottle of the bath gel which is insufficient for 2 persons for daily use. - No English newspaper was available except for 1 day.

Loved the room, loved the decor. Gorgeous breakfast room. We had wonderful stay in Florence.

Staff very professional, well run hotel, and excellently maintained. The first night given 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double bed (as reserved). Made for a disturbed sleep, and we're surprised this issue hadn't bothered previous guests.The staff very good when we brought this issue to their attention however.
