Location away from busy centre; taking boats to/from centre; peaceful location; modern hotel compared to oolder hotels in centre which at same price tend to be poorer quality Very limited light eating options for dinner. Quite important since limited faciltites in area in not eating out in centre |

location and the modern, tasteful interior + sherban makes the most beautiful looking cappucino - see http://fringephenomena.com/fringe_film_21.html the sewerage smell in our room (413), especially noticable on entering. the staff tried to disguise it with a spray, but that only added an extra smell. pity, i hope they managed to resolve the problem. |

Room was clean and well presented. Shower was very good. Breakfast was of very good quality by Venetian standards. Access to internet with printer was slightly restricted - this was important for checking in online on return journey. Computer in use was very old indeed and it wouldn't be expensive to upgrade. |

The hotel is very nice and upscale. The rooms were large and very comfortable. We had a problem bringing our luggage from the the river taxi into the hotel. |

We found the staff very helpful, they all spoke english. The breakfast was excellent, staff efficient and courteous. The carpet in our room needed to be renewed. it was dirty and worn. Just the carpet in our room. Everything else was fine. |

The hotel was situated in a perfect location for us - quiet, but close enough to the centre to walk and very close to a multi route vaporetto stop. The rooms were very clean, pleasantly furnished and well equipped. The breakfast was poor - we would have expected a little more choice and quality in a 4 star - the orange juice was watered down so much it tasted like water (we did not have dinner at the hotel) |

Its quiet location Room was too small - felt a little clostraphobic - asked to be moved to a larger room but was declined and told only suites available at an extra cost of 85 euro per night |

Comfortable room, nicely designed, modern. Breakfast outside on the courtyard was really nice. Easy to get to and close to the water bus stop. We asked reception for a recommendation of a local non-touristy restaurant and were directed us to a huge tourist trap (not one italian customer) which cost 200 euros for 3 people (and we didn't even have dessert!) For dishes the waitor recommended us to order and "share" we were charged for the full price of the dish 3 times! Several other customers of the restaurant were disputing their bill. We wondered if the hotel gets a cut for sending people there. All in all I would recommend the hotel but don't ask the reception for restaurant recommendations. |

We liked the same things we have liked during our previous 3 trips to the Hotel Sant'Elena - which is why we come back every year. We like the proximity to the open lagoon and the vaporetto (waterbus) stop which is only 200m from the hotel. Pity the poor travellers who have to lug heavy baggage around at the start and end of their holidays! The food is fine, the cleanliness is impeccable, the rooms comfortable and air conditioned, and, being in the only green area of the island, it is fresh. A former convent, the hotel has an enclosed lawned garden which is idal for peaceful relaxation, sunbathing and breakfast. I saw a mosquito there once. |

The room was large & clean. The hotel staff were helpful ie when the TV wasn't working. Perhaps the breakfast options could be changed every few days? |

This seems to be the only area that is green, with a beautiful park and a wonderful place to stroll. There is a nice cafe just a block away that stays open into the evening. We will stay here again this is a great spot. |
