Hotel UnicornoVia dei Fossi 27, Tornabuoni, 50123 Florence (Show map) Very good, Score from 134 reviews“Rooms, specially the ones on the third floor which are newly refurbished, very modern and comofortable are highly recommended. The price was good and the service was great. Specially friendly was the attention of Guido at the front desk. He recommended us places to go, restaurants to visit in the area, etc. Buffet breakfast was included, it was ok but I have no complaints considering that you are paying a very good price for the accommodation!”

Causy, Friendly helpful staff. Close to the river, to the shopping area, to the dome, to the museums and to the St.Maria Novella's station. Nice breakfast, with enough variety. PS. Take the best of Tuscany tour in 1 day, Wow!!

Hotel unicorn is a small hotel an old building with character rooms are a good size except for the top floor some of my party said they had smaller rooms although I didn't see them myself. The breakfast is typically continental The most redeeming feature is its location, the station is a short walk, (ask at the tourist information office near the station for directions) and everything in the old part of Florence is in easy walking distance. No Bar

The hotel staff are so helpful, we immediately felt welcome and that is wonderful when you just get to a new city! Hotel room that we stayed is quite ok, however not the most comfy ones. Bathroom is a bit small.

The hotel was in an excellent location, close to the train station and where the buses stop from the airport. It was easy to walk to all the tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were very helpful giving us easy instructions on how to get to the hotel. On arrival they provided us with a map of the city and marked out interesting places for us to go. They also Gave us information on day trips out of the city and booked these. The room was spacious and clean with comfy chairs to sit in. The breakfast was very nice with both cooked and cold food and pastries. I would go back to hotel Unicorno again.

Helpful staff, clean room, good shower and comfy bed! 5 mins walk from the Santa Maria Novella station and similar for the main city attractions. Breakfast - a good variety and ample. The lift did not quite reach the lobby, you needed to climb about 10 stairs to reach it. The street and footpath outside are both narrow. This could be a problem for pushchairs or those using a mobility aid.

I like the friendly and helpful staff.I Like the unusual layout of the building. I like the breakfast. I would like to thank Elena for her very kind welcome of my brother and sister-in-law for breakfast and a shower on the day we left. The hotel is also very convenient for walking into and around Florence. The lift door sometimes did not close properly, which meant that it stopped working. On 2 occasions I had to climb the stairs to close the outer door so that the lift would work again.

The location was excellent, close to train station and sightseeing places. It was great having fridge and safe in the room. The elevator was not on ground floor, we had to climb one story to reach it. The lighting in the bathroom near the mirror should be brighter.

I must say that the welcome we received by the receptionist was wonderful. I believe it was Elena, a yoing Italian woman with a terrific sense of humour who made us feel very much at home. She bent over backwards to help us. The breakfast was perhpas our best on our holiday and we enjoyed it very much. A superb location as the hotel was a short walk from the rr station and easy to find. Also close to many important attractions. We felt safe coming and going.

Friendly personnel. Breakfast ok but not exceptional. We had a problem in the bathroom with the radiator leaking because of the airco but this was repaired the same day.

We had a clean, comfortable triple room. Breakfast was decent, by American standards, which after living in Italy for a while, we know can be hard to come by. The location is an easy 7ish minute walk from the smn train station. It does have a/c and free wi-fi was easy to access from our room. The front door did not have a deadbolt, and the way it locks, people cannot open it from the outside without a key. However, from the inside all you have to do is pull down on the door handle and you are out. This is not convenient or safe when you are travelling with a toddler. The bathroom door stuck a couple of times, and once we could not get it open from the outside at all. The front desk attendant had a brusque demeanor and made me feel every second how much I had inconvenienced her, having her come upstairs to open the door. In fact, she was quite rude about it and this marred what would otherwise have been a pleasant stay.
