Perched on a hilltop 508 metres above sea level, Città  della Pieve is situated on Umbria's border with Tuscany, over-looking Lake Trasimeno and the enchanting Chiana valley. The medieval period has left its lasting imprint on this picturesque town. Adorning several of the town's ancient churches are frescos by native-born, renaissance artist and teacher of Raphael, Pietro Vannucci (Il Perugino).

Città  della Pieve is ideally situated for touring being close to both the train hub of Chiusi-Chianciano Terme (8km) and the Autostrada del Sole (17km). Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi and Montepulciano are just some of the destinations which can be reached by car within 30-60 minutes. Lake Trasimeno, with all its water sports, can be reached within 20 minutes

By car, from the North (Florence): Take Autostrade del Sole (A1) south to Roma, exit Chiusi-Chianciano Terme and follow signs to Città della Pieve. Hotel is centrally located and sign posted.

By car, from the South (Rome): take Autostrada del Sole (A1) north to Florrence, exit Fabro and follow signs to Città della Pieve. Hotel is centrally located and sign posted.

By train: take train to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme. Buses to Città della Pieveare available from railway station. Rental car located within walking distance from station.
