Close to bus stop and beach, great sunny views
No wifi in rooms
Room had a nice view of the ocean
website stated that they free parking but only had 4 parking spots. It was a long walk to the lobby from the street and the beach was a long walk down hundreds of steps down the cliff.
We were given the option of a separate room just up the path, and really enjoyed the privacy of this as well as the views!
We loved the location and could walk down to sea or shops and some great resturants. Was great value for money with breakfast included. The staff helped us find great beaches and great snorkeling spots.
The area has alot of stairs and no lift but that is like everywhere around the almalfi coast so can't be helped.
The view was stunning, our balcony overlooked the water. The room was small but big enough for two people. Breakfast was included. The staff were friendly and accommodating. 15 minute bus to Positano, which ran regularly. There is a small pizza restaurant across the road which is good value for money. There is a small beach down the stair but I recommend going to Positano, which is beautiful.
Dinner was nice, but overpriced and they charge you at the end. Lot's of stairs, but that's to be expected. Taxis are over priced so catch a bus instead. The room is a little pricey, but you are paying for the view and location, so make sure you get a balcony.
Nice hotel, rooms were comfy, views spectacular. The woman on reception was extremely friendly and helpful.
The location means that you cannot park anywhere near the hotel and bags have to carried down endless stairs from the road. We were offered a porter for 5euros per bag, which seemed excessive, given the situation. One member of staff managed to spoil our stay. He called himself the chef, but busied himself shouting at us for enjoying the pool. We had three children with us, but apparently should only have gone to the beach and not had a bit of fun and cooled off around the pool in the afternoon. He did this twice and not in any way that could be described as polite. On the Friday night, he had a massive row with one of the kitchen staff in front of all the guests. All in all, not great PR for a nice-enough hotel.
Parking was inconvenient - street parking in peak tourist season. Problems with the pool. Staff were unhelpful and rude. Info they gave was vague. Poor service. Tense, aggressive atmosphere, no Italian warmth here! Would not recommend to anyone.
Nice view from the restaurant terrace. Staff let us park at their private spot at Praiano.
Lots of stairs down to reach the hotel. Impossible to park. Our room was really small, nothing like the pictures shown. Not even space for luggage. Bed was tiny for two and noisy. Pillows were hard. Bathroom door did not close properly. Lots of cats and it smells like it. Plenty of mosquitos. Unfriendly staff.
Hotel Villa Bellavista is warmly recommended by us due to the fantastic family that runs the hotel. We are a family with three children who spent one week in the hotel with wonderful service, beautiful nature, terrific and generous homemade food based on local ingredients. A hotel with a genuine italian style which you will definitely want to visit again....and again.
Location in praiano was great -close to a Italian beach/bay( rocky cliff no sand) which is beautiful - pool great to cool down in after a hot day. Wifi good signal but only in reception lounge area. Lovely outlook for breakfast over the ocean/ bay.
Pool closed from 1 till 3.30 in afternoon - thought that was pretty silly.room pretty basic for price paid but seems that's what you should expect along Amalfi coast. Neighbours had loud drinks on deck till 1ish one night making a lot of noise and waking us - felt more like a hostel than a hotel that night - no wifi in room - Mosquitos !
Excellent view, try the dinner of the house (perfect, house-made, from local resources, they had alternative for the children).
150 steps from the road to the hotel, and more 250 steps from the level of the hotel down to the beach. Its managable, and the view highly compensate the work you have to invest in climbing) Staff should be more proactive and friendly.
On our first night we arrived at 10 pm. They asked us if we were hungry and gave us a wonderful dinner, which we later discovered was very reasonably priced. In addition to this, our interactions with the staff were on the whole exceptional. We obtained a parking ticket in Positano which the lady helped us to pay by filling out the form. Overall the staff were very friendly and kind.
Although our superior room with a sea view was reasonably clean and had a beautiful view, our sister's room, which was not a sea view, was dank and the bathroom smelled of urine. I would recommend that if you're going to stay here that you book a room with a view. The beach was for strong swimmers only and quite a hike.
great location, lovely atmosphere and really relaxing hotel with outstanding view from restaurant. Very nice breakfast and helpful staff. Praiano is a pretty quiet village with easy access to Amafi and Positano. Can get boat trip from the hotel to Positano or Capri.
Lots of steps but location is worth it.
The views, the dining terrace, the swimming pool, cappuccinos for breakfast. The room had a huge terrace overlooking the sea. A perfect place to have a glass of wine and a takeaway dinner. Praiano itself is a lovely small town. The hotel is away from the main road so nice and quiet. There are stairs down to a secluded bay where you can swim. Gennaro was very friendly and does a nice boat tour up to Positano, including a swim.
The steps, lack of signage to find the hotel.
Location Staff Quietness Family run Hotel boat for visits to Capri Swimming pool Close to sea for swimming.
No wifi in rooms Had to pay in cash for room.
The view from balcony for breakfast was lovely. The boat trip to Capri we really enjoyed very personal. The swimming was great to cool down in after walking up the stairs from the ocean!
Yes there are aloooot of stairs from the water but it is the amalfi coast. My youngest child is 5yrs and she walked up but with real little ones would be a struggle!
Staff were very pleasant. Dinners were beyond expectation and very reasonably priced. Overall experience was great. Other restaurants in the area also provided good quality and variety. Good access to buses made sightseeing simple. A wonderful experience.
So many steps :o)
We didn't even stay in the hotel. We were put in a unit away from the hotel. That's were they put the people with children. The bed was so uncomfortable it kept waking us up. We were very close to the road so it was noisy. There weren't even any cups in the room. No Wi-Fi in the room, you had to walk down to the main hotel, which is hard to do with children. The breakfast was very basic.
Small room. They gave our room away for the first night and we had to change rooms after the first day. We ended up in an apartment for that night that needs updating. Even though I had booked over a month in advance. Staff is not the most friendly
We loved the view and the location.
The view was spectacular. Great food...wonderful family run hotel. Clean comfortable rooms.
The family run hotel is a nice paradise, they look after it with great care: both the hotel and it's garden is fantastic! Situation is just perfect: above the small beach (~150stairs), with great views over the bay and the Amalfi cost+Capri. The SITA bus-stop is very close as well, just on the top of the stairs which makes it an ideal place to explore the cost from here (it's halfway between Amalfi and Positano). Don't miss the superb dinner they offer! Food is great in general and we had the best ever mussels here. (Not to mention the tasty figs and other fruits from Nino :)
water and wine is not included in dinner's price
The location was great. The hotel did not have many luxuries for the value; however, the scenery was beautiful. The room had a balcony looking over the water, and down below the hill of the villa was a perfect place to take a seaside dip in the Mediterranean. There was a fantastic hotel restaurant nearby that serenaded us with romantic Italian music while overlooking the sea with the glittering lights of Positano in the near distance, and the cuisine was lovely and not too overly priced. Overall, I would visit this place again.
The site claims to have free parking; however, the free parking was full. The only other parking was on a hillside, and we had to pay. Furthermore, the hotel did not meet the value for cost (but we can understand that it was pricey due to its placement on the Amalfi Coast).
Amazing value and great location, plus you get a free dinner and breakfast included so a great choice for budget conscious all rooms have gorgeous sea view balcony. Highly rcmend.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Praiano is peaceful like a country town. the hotel was clean and comfortable with great views of the ocean. It was an easy bus ride in either direction to Amalfi or Positano and the bus stop was at the top of the stair from the hotel.
There were a lot of stairs. Unexpected but not imposible.
