Vintage charm and luxe. This hotel like in old movies: antique furniture, paintings, piano in hall, wooden bar... it's charming place. And it's good place when you travel by car ;-)
Free Parking Quiet
Far walk to downtown
Easy to find with good parking on site. Proximity to the city meant we didn't have to use our car, a bonus in Florence. Cabs plentiful and reasonable- 10 euro to the center, or a 20 minute walk. Quiet basic hotel with very helpful staff.
Helpful staff, clean comfortable room
Thay don't gave us proper hotel rooms . Gave us the rooms extended part of the hotel . Which is i naver informed by booking com . I booked this hotel long time ago ! But i don't know why they gave us very poor rooms ! My clients are nit happy . I lost my quality with booking com . Please advice to not use this hotel ! Or make sure your clients get proper real hotel accommodations! Best Islam
Lovely classical feel. Nice rooms.
We couldn't close or open our shutters due to large padlock securing bycles so couldn't see out. Room paintwork very scuffed. Whole place ok but attention to detail could make it so much better. Its about 20 minutes from scenic bits of Florence.
Parking on site and only 20 mins from the Ponte Vecchio
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was perfect - very close to the city, yet so calm and beautiful. The staff very helpful. Room was small but nice, with a beautiful, large window. Nice breakfast.
Room could use a little updated in design.
Enjoyed our stay with a 4 year old and an infant. Close to everything and the poolside dining was amazing. Food was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
Wifi went off at 2am every day.
and what didn't I like ? this is my second stay in Villa Carlotta , and I was more satisfied . very helpful staff especially Leonardo and Ali . natural location . clean . very close to bus stop with direct access to city center , train station and Siena . excellent wifi connection . the best matt , pillows and covers . I have stayed in many luxurious hotels in many countries . Villa Carlotta is not luxurious , but no second thought , I prefer it and I will stay there next time and other times as long as I visit Florence .
a minor issue , the breakfast wasn't that good . it used to be better before .

Free parking- limited spaces on site however free parking also available on street. Breakfast included- continental and small hot selection. Reasonable quality. Location- 20 minute walk to Firenze old area including sights and food. Swimming Pool - refreshing on our visit. In my opinion as a pool owner pool water was not chemically clean (water not clear but green) Elevator available to all floors Staff- helpful to provide guidance and arranged our room change due to musty smell from air conditioner
Considering the historic nature and character of the hotel the appearance is tired. A previous reply from the hotel states the condition is in keeping with period construction however older buildings can be cleaned, repaired and painted to look smart. This would improve the saleability of the hotel to prospective guests.
great staff, easy to get to, close to attractions
needs a freshen up, paint etc
The hotel is a typical old florentian villa, nicely decirated in a old fashioned way. Rooms were rather big, however normal, plain but good 3 star standard. The pool area was pleasant and makes the hotel to be 4 star. The area is residential, about 15 minutes nice walk from Ponto Vecchio through the artistic area Otranto. Free parking was sn ectra plus. Personnel very helpful.
Location was good and free parking on site is great. Staff are willing.
Disappointing breakfast - old style - and pokey room.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good location , quiet but within walking distance to Ponte Vecchio. Lovely small pool, perfect to relax after sightseeing
Not brilliant soundproofing. So if you are a light sleeper, ask for top floor.
The service was really good, and the staff really looked after us.
The rooms were a little depressing and the hotel itself was pretty outdated.
great helpfull staff, breakfast
room equipment, not enough time to try a swimming pool
Small hotel within the reach of all the historical sights worth seeing (20 mins walk) in a nice quiet location. Parking place for free. Tasty dinners, typical Italian breakfast. Strong signal for wifi that you can reach at the swimming pool as well.
You can hear the noises and steps from the room above you.
location quiet near park away from hustle and busstle of city. Lovely villa, rooms shabby chic design, not tired and old as some visitors have said.
nothing really, except prob could have filled up hot breakfast quicker.
As fairly young and fit travelers, we were prepared for the 15 minute walk into the historic city center. The daily breakfast buffet was very good.
The rooms were extremely hot and uncomfortable. We asked to be moved, and we were placed into the back carriage house (where additional rooms were) and were much more comfortable as the A/C was actually on and working. We found the front staff to be flat-out rude. After spending thousands of dollars to stay at this place for 5 days, they couldn't even manage a 'thank you' or a smile upon check out. The short-haired lady, very gruff and brisk, was most unpleasant and generally ignored us when we approached the desk for assistance. She is just not suited to hospitality. We were very unhappy leaving. It just wasn't a good customer service experience.
Location and staff were excellent.very helpful with directions etc.Breakfast was standard but not amazing. Room was clean and reasonable toiletries provided. If the manager hadn't been so nice I wouldnt of have had such a pleasant stay.
Over priced for what was offered.this maybe because of large international exhibition in town.Hotel tired and dated in decoration furniture and style. mini bar poorly stocked.staff were thin on the ground.i wouldn't rate this a 4 star hotel it doesn't compare to what the modern market has to offer. Need money spent on it and updating.it has a faded charm. I would have been happy to spend 40% less to stay here. I have found most hotels in Italy also over rated in quality against what I am use to in other countries not just this one.
staff on reception very good most helpful, good buffet style breakfast lot of choice.
although room was large there was alack of wardrobe space/storage space
Angela and the rest of the staff were very kind, courteous and helpful. Relaxing location away from all the activity.
Slight musty aroma in our room. Suggest using a different air freshener, perhaps floral.
The front office staff were very helpful, calling taxi's and making dinner reservations for us. They have a bar open most of the day and evening, so when we came back from sightseeing on a warm May day, we could order a drink and sit by the pool--the pool deck is a beautiful setting!! Especially after the awful winter weather in the Midwest this year (2014). Hanging out by the pool and outside the hustle bustle of the city was wonderful. Breakfast and coffee was wonderful--spread of meats and local specialty pastries.
We were on the first floor--I think it is a disability accessible room. It was spacious but we heard a lot of noise from front desk in the evening with people coming back from a night on the town. We would definitely stay at Villa Carlotta again--maybe not on the 1st floor. This was not a big deal.
