Directions to the hotel were reasonably clear. The parking lot is spacious, but does not offer any real shadow. The location allows easy access to Florence and the Chianti route, (#222). In the main, the personnel, (particularly in the restaurant area), were helpful and friendly. The area around the swimming pool is somewhat disorganised. The swimming pool itself is too small and shallow for such an hotel and the potential number of users. The pool water, although clear, has a strange smell. The hotel kitchen offers some tasty local food varieties, and the prices are fair when compared with the local restaurants. The kitchen and serving staff do a good job, are flexible and attentive. The size of a double room is somewhat cramped, and one would have preferred a balcony and private sitting space as well as a reasonably sized kitchen/refrigerator facility. In addition to the above: the bathroom is very cramped, and the total area is rather restricted in comparison to the price/quality ratio of other facilities. When we booked we were expecting an appartment rather than a rather small double bedroom and bathroom. Our positive recommendation is based on what we would like to have had, but we do not know whether our wishes could have been honoured. We wonder whether what we had thought we had booked (E.G. an appartment with balcony) was allotted to another guest.
