Hostel Archi Rossi is in historic central Florence, just 270 yards from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Rooms are air conditioned and have private bathrooms and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 1515 reviews Very good
Good for having a rest, quiet place, the bed was all right, in suit bathroom facility agreeable. It wasn't that close to the city centre but what can I ask for the price. Also, taking a bus to get a bit closer to the centre is not really worth it, the easiest was just walk.
Breakfast didn't start early enough so I skipped 3 out of 4 even though I paid for them! When I arrived to my room, first thing I did was I removed the ashtray from the bedside table. The wifi didn't reach to my room on the top floor.
There is Wifi in the hotel but it didn't work at all.
The only thing i liked is the location. It was a 15minute walk to the centre of florence (duomo) and the location of the hotel is nice. There is a supermarket near by.
The bathroom was filthy the shower did not work there was dirt, hair etc the internet was only fixed when asked and was sporadic at times. No one speaks English. It was noisy people coming and going. Don't expect anything fancy.
Breakfast was fantastic. A great spread and very friendly staff. Parking is in front of the hotel.
Wifi terrible. Have to go sit in reception as to not drop the connection.
Ease of access to the bus line which takes one to Piazza San Marco. From this point, one can walk to all the museums and other attractions that Florence has to offer. Real Gelato, and I had a lot of it, sooo good. Within walking distance of local shopping district at Campo Di Marte. Franco at the front desk was very helpful. He's not highly proficient in English, but speaks enough that we could communicate quite well. A real gentleman. I couldn't thank him enough for all his help.
The nights were chilly and the radiator wasn't functioning, but I had a heavy blanket, so it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. It probably works when it gets into the cold winter weather. Other then that, nothing to not like. The traffic is crazy, but surprisingly, I saw not one accident. The people that have their own vehicles seem to manage quite well. I would never try driving there, and I have 56 years vehicle experience.
Good location about 10 min walk to the old town.decent room clean breakfast not very rich but for this price still ok.
wifi is free but you have to connect via application which require to connect through facebook or google accoount and asking for your details. there was no toiletries as been said in the information.
- It's a mostly quiet place; noise isn't really an issue. - When available, do take the free breakfast included option. It consists of a coffee, a croissant and a buffet with different things you can freely take from.
- Internet connectivity is bad. It might have been because I was on a third floor room, but still. I could barely stay online. - The room I had had no ventilation whatsoever - The only window was a ceiling window that wouldn't open. This was an issue because of humidity coming from the bathroom and the natural humidity problems Firenze already has, making the bedroom smell a bit. - The staff doesn't speak any language well other than Italian. For an hotel in an international city like Firenze, this is a big issue. I had to contact Booking.com because whenever I called the hotel to set up a late check-in whoever answered would hang up the phone because they didn't speak english or spanish and couldn't understand my basic Italian.
Clean and quiet. Breakfirst is ok, not good not bad. A little far from the station centre
No english, I need to use wifi with my computer, they can not help with it.
It is easy to get to by train from Santa Maria Novella to Campo Marte is 5 min & 1.5E. The walk down to Plaza della Signoria is about 20 minutes straight down via deli Artisti and keep going straight as the street name changes. Very clean, proprietors don't speak much English and the breakfast is OK but it is a great value.
Room big and clean. Nice breakfast with possibility to eat in the garden. Perfect position: quite area and close to the center.
The receptionist didn't explain us anything during the check-in about the hotel service. He was in a bored mood, we had to ask.
Only 30 min walk into downtown Florence
Even though very friendly, staff does not speak English.
Great value for money Free on-street parking
Expect just a basic room
Very, very poor breakfast. Staff speaks neither English nor German nor French.
Location, parking facilities
Really rude and incompetent staff (come into the bedroom without knocking to tell us to leave on the wrong day), wifi is barely working, cleaning lady did not come into the bedroom, nobody speaks English, the beds are uncomfortable, no air conditioning even if it is written in the hotel description, impossible to sleep because of the noise
The hotel was clean, the people were really helpful and it's well located, both for walking or driving, it also has it's own parking plazas, so that made it really easy for us to walk around the city.
Away from the historic center
Everything was very nice and clean.
There where lots of mosquitoes.
This is a lovely little family run hotel in the suburbs of Florence. I am a regular international traveller and usually stay in four star hotels or above, but as I was staying for five weeks I decided to look at alternatives. This is such a lovely, quiet, clean hotel, where the staff are warm and friendly (but some Italian is an advantage) and I am surprised that it isn't a three star hotel. It is a ten minute walk into the heart of old Florence, or you can take one of four buses within a two minute walk. Supermarkets, cafe's, busses and trains are all very close by, or take a taxi to the centre for only six Euro. Despite it being close to a major railway station, I did not hear any trains, making this an advantage for travel further afield. I had the same room on the ground floor which was spacious and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the garden at the back of the hotel. The bathroom was spacious and modernised with a good shower and room to put your 'stuff'! The airconditioning is modern and works very well, though being a large room with high ceilings, the fan was usually enough except on the hottest days (I was there from June to the end of July). The beds were comfortable and the WiFi worked well on the ground floor. It has plantation shutters and double glazing which was great for sound-proofing and keeping out the heat and light, as well as an awning for the same. Overall, I found this a terrific hotel and would definitely stay there again!
We did not get a reply to our email for directions.. therefore did not get the right train station!! All it would take is an answer to an email! IT IS NOT Campo di Marte... you'll never find that train station!! It is FRIENZE CAMPO MARTE!!! Save yourself hours riding buses to try to get here. Go to the right station. Non English speaker at reception. Convenient to Duomo etc. and walking. Very clean.
No reply to email. This should be a sign that there is no English spoken... no matter what the site says. NOT ENOUGH accurate directions to get there!
It has an amazing pool and a bar, the showers are private an comfortable, I had an amazing time there.
The price of the breakfast is ridiculously expensive
Staff seemed grumpy. Didn't have shower towels. Garden was closed. Breakfast was not good and not located "in room". "Air conditioning" was a small ceiling fan. No one spoke a lick of English. Didn't feel comfortable at all.
Clean and comfortable
Staff could not speak English
No wifi in rooms, breakfast poor
