Hotel Villa Liana is housed in an elegant 19th-century villa with a peaceful and relaxing English-style garden with parking area. You'll find all this right in the center of Florence. The area around Villa Liana is peaceful, yet you will only be a 10-minute walk from the fabulous Duomo and the main landmarks in Florence. There are also 2 public gardens within 5 minutes, including the Botanic Gardens, dating back to 1545. Villa Liana also enjoys easy access from the beltway and offers on-site parking, so you can leave your car here and visit the city on foot. The functional and spacious bedrooms are equipped with antique furniture and carefully selected textiles, providing a comfortable family atmosphere. Some of them even have frescoed ceilings. Hotel Villa Leana is a piece of art by itself. The entire hotel is decorated with antique furniture. The high ceilings paintings and over all decor are a very nice touch and a great way to start to get into the Florence experience. We had a classic double rm and it was very comfortable and well appointed. Hotel staff was very helpful and their front desk personnel had a reasonably good command of English. Their interior parking is very limited and is dominated by a very nice garden. The center of the city is a close walk (10 to 15 mins). The breakfast was good, very nicely layout and we totally enjoyed their beautiful breakfast room. They also have a family room with table games, big screen TV, fireplace, and a very warm feeling to it. All and all very good experience. Will stay here again with no hesitation. The room air conditioner (if that is what it was) is a standalone unit sitting in the rm with a hose that takes the hot air out thru a hole in the glass window. The hose actually heats up quite a lot making it hard for the rm to cool down. Even with the outside temps running at around 90 f (32.2 C) during the day the rm stayed at about 75 f (22.2 C) so don't expect much efficiency out of the air conditioning system.

Perfect location if you are traveling by car. Leave the car safely and conveniently right at the hotel and see Florence on foot. Walk just 10 minutes to the Duomo. Old world charm and lovely accommodations. Excellent European breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

The common areas in the hotel are very nice - classic style. The hotel is too expensive for where it is located and the size of the rooms and bathrooms. The hotel "family" rooms are small... really just a double room with a couple of extra beds put in. We had them change our room because the first room I could barely fit in the bathroom and TV did not work (tiny screen, not a big deal but, with kids...). If you get a room facing the street it is very noisy. They were nice and changed our room to a little better room, at least with a reasonable bathroom. It is also a bit too far from anything - the 15 minute walk to get to the city center can be tough after having walked all day in museums and around the city. The hotel also charges for parking, which adds to the expense. It would be a nice hotel for couples, not for families. Families should seek apartment rentals, with more space, less cost.

Location was good for us. No iron in the room (a deluxe room). I went to reception to ask for one and I was told there was no iron in the hotel. Not happy! A basic service that is essential for every traveller. The shower was very weak and took ages to warm up. The double bed was obviously twins pushed together. Not what you'd expect for €130 a night. Don't get me started on the pillows! I'd price the room/ hotel at €50 a night.

Extremely charming and historical pensione with lots of character. Somehow feels like a mini palace with beautiful high ceilings and details. Lovely reception/entrance. Felt really cosy and comfy. Prefer tv with some English channels or English subtitles.

Walking distance to all of Florence with great places to eat nearby. Old 1800's villa with all the updates to keep a tourist happy. Free breakfast and safe and secure parking available. Overall, great location and good price for a wonderful time in Florence. They even let us leave our car in the parking while we explored Florence for the rest of the day. To get to the parking, you have to go through a very tight entrance...turn you side mirrors in kind of tight, but it was secure and no one would be able to get in to mess with your vehicle.

A beautiful old house very conveniently situated for the sites of Florence, we enjoyed a 4 day stay and walked everywhere from the hotel. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and well appointed and breakfast is very good. It would not suit people who are not prepared to walk in our opinion, as taxis are expensive and it's a 15 minute walk to the centre for a fit person.

The location, it was situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city, mind you it was a good 20 minute walk to the tourist part of the city so if you do not like walking this is not the hotel for you. The hotel was rather tired looking and could do with a bit of makeover, my husband called it the rustic look.

Hotel room was impressive, however the very old and classic furniture may get a little tiring when you stay for more than 2-3 days. Breakfast is lovely, so is the staff. It was a little far (15 mons walk) from the centre and the monuments. Overall however, very satisfied!

The decor was very eclectic to say the least!! Breakfast was good and the staff very helpfull but the hotel itself was a bit of a let down considering the cost of it. I think next time we will stay a little more central because it is a good 20 minute walk to the hub. Having said that, if you like something a bit more rustic, then this hotel is for you. We paid for a superior room with garden view but were put into a room facing the main street and were awoken to the sounds of sirens and dense traffic noise. It was so loud that we started to laugh! The staff accommodated our request to be moved into what we had paid for which was better and much more quiet.

A beautiful building near the centre of Florence. The staff were aloof and what appeared to be the manager was more concerned at telling her staff off for arranging the cheese at breakfast than tend to guests.

This was the second stay. When we made a three-day trip to Arezzo and Cortona just with small bags, the staff kept our luggage safely as well as the previous time. Location ; main railway station (Firenze S.M.N ) is little far, but, another railway station Campo di Marte is within a walking distance enough.

The room was beautifully decorated. Some will say its dated, but that's the point :) The garden in the courtyard is fantastic and very comfortable. Our room had a balcony overlooking the garden and it was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and the gentleman took the time to give me very detailed directions on how to drive around the city center to return our rental car. I would definitely stay here again!!! The location is only 15 minutes walk from the major sites of Florence, I consider that close but it might be a problem for people with disabilities, as well as there being no elevator.

Very beautiful room with antique furniture, frescos on the ceiling and a view of the very pretty garden. Bathroom was large and extremely clean. Staff was gracious and helpful. Breakfast was very good although I'd probably would have liked more local things as well. Overall excellent! Not cheap but worth the money
