The location of the hotel was really good. It was in a quiet area but very close to all amenities. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There was a wide variety of cold food for breakfast and no matter what time we went to breakfast it was always fully stocked. Prior to our stay the hotel contacted me by email to offer a taxi service to/from the airport to the hotel and details of tours that they could arrange for our visit which was really helpful.

Contrary to some of the travel books I read, this neighborhood is EXCELLENT! The hotel it self is very nice. The staff is excellent and friendly (especially the morning help with breakfast). All were very eager to please. The room was great! Maid service everyday. Front desk was very knowledgeable about all of Rome. We were able to walk to everything except the Vatican. Termini station was well with in walking distance. Front desk would call taxi's for us. We also used the car service to and from the airport (BEST INVESTMENT WE MADE!!) Will definitely stay again. (ask for room on 3rd floor with balcony). OH! and for the money: Can not get better!! We researched hotels long before we went and then actually passed several of them on our adventures. Trust me, Hotel Viminale was the better! No matter where you stay, air conditioning is not as "cold" as the U.S The morning breakfast buffet was absolutely wonderful, service excellent. Would have been nice to have this available in the evening also.

Location for main historical sites - about 15 min gentle stroll to Coliseum, Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. Neeed transport to Vatican unles you're OK with 50 min walk. Good restaurants nearby. Hotel and room clean and staff very helpful. 5 min walk frfom Termini station to hotel which is in very quiet location. No inhouse restaurant or bar, though there is mini bar in each room - interestingly the mini bar prices were cheaper than those charged in the local bars, must be a first!!

The hotel was located along a pleasant side street, away from the bustle yet conveniently located for the main historical sites as well as shopping, restaurants and cafes. The decor was lovely and rooms well maintained with polite helpful staff. The buffet style breakfast included was great with lovely pastries, fruit, cold cuts, cereal etc, though, the machine coffee was disappointing. Not a complaint, but an observation. My single room was very small but, like the rest of the hotel, excellent decor, clean and comfortable. It also had a lovely bathroom. All in all, my stay was most enjoyable and I would gladly stay again.

We stayed at Hotel Viminale from the 8th to the 11th of July, 2011. they staff were very kind and helpful. our room was on the 4th floor, nice and quiet, and roomy. the bathroom was lovely, and spotless, there were extra pillows and a blanket in the closet and plenty of room. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone who is traveling to Rome, it is within walking distance to the Colosseum and to the Termini train station where you can catch the Metro as well. lots of great shopping and restaurants within a short or longer walk........ The dining room staff in the morning, ( one lady in particular) was not friendly and would go around cleaning up, smacking the chairs into place, and always with a very unpleasant attitude towards the guests.....but the breakfast buffet was lovely, so we just ignored her.

The hotel was sufficient for the price and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The rooms are very out of date and there was an awful sewage stench in the bathroom so bad we had to keep all plug holes down and doors closed.
