In a perfect place just in between Stazione Termini and all the main tourist attractions such as the Colosseum. The breakfast was sufficient (bread, bacon, eggs, cheese, sausages, coffee, juices etc.) - much better than I actually expected from an Italian three star hotel. The sweet pastries were excellent! The staff was very helpful and spoke English very well. All in all, this was an excellent choice for a three day trip to Rome. Excellent value for money!
service was excellent could not fault. Room was spotless albeit a little tired on decor but really good value and met our needs perfectly for a short city break
location friendly staff
some weird smell in room
I had to leave early morning as I asked them for early breakfast they refused.
- friendly staff - clean and well-sized rooms - free internet - breakfast was alright - best price for the location and quality within the heart of rome (10-25 minutes walking distance to colloseum, pantheon, forum romanum, main station, bus station, restaurants and shops) - no street noises within the hotel room
- within our room in the second floor we heard very loud noises coming from within the hotel (vacuum cleaner, toilet flush, etc.) at night as well as early in the morning - no variation in the breakfast offer in one week
Situated in a quiet area although very central. The reception staff were very efficent, polite & friendly. The breakfast was excellent - a good variety to choose from. Will definitely book it again and even ask for the same rooms despite them being "next door"
We were situated in the annexe which was right next door. First impressions were that it was very old and scruffy & even thought it was dirty. When we reached the rooms our opinions changed completely. The rooms were almost brand new and were extremely comfortable & clean. Shame they hadn't given the door to the street a coat of paint!
Located real close to the heart of the historical center. Clean. Friendly and smiley reception
Removed doors of the cabin in the toilet were replaced with a not so convenient curtain attached
The cleaning was perfect! We asked for transport from the airport, very nice service even if we payed for it! The guy who drove us was really nice!
I asked to change my bed as it was too old. Nothing became better (was it changed?)so I had to put a blanket under the sheets to feel a bit comfortable. Buy new beds!!
very good location, very near to both city center (collosseum) and termini rail station very clean room, even if small well equipped bathroom
walls very thin, you could hear everything on the hallway very small breakfast area, with little choices (however, sufficient)
free wifi, free breakfast, clean rooms. Also arranged an early morning pick-up to take us to the airport.
beds were a bit hard
Breakfast area rather crowded and not too inviting.
Shower had great pressure
Air conditioning was poor
Hotel staff was incredibly rude.
I will never do anyone bookings through you guys!! 329 euro for such a Small room! There was no space to move !
I don't like especially room and bathrooms, you guys show something on picture and wen I arrive there it was completely differnt than what I saw on your website . Very disappointed!!!!
Location was great! Hot breakfast buffet was good with bacon and eggs and stuff like that :)
sometimes there was NO HOT WATER! we would have to run the tap for about 10 minutes before the water started to warm up also we had problems with the wifi
I liked the breakfast (except for coffee and orange juice) and location
Old rooms and beds, bad quality of sleeps and in general, old or not functioning furniture.
The best thing in this hotel is valerio, from the reception stuff He was so pleasant and helpful. Every question we ask he got an answer and a good one! If i will be back to rome i would stay in this hotel for sure.
Good location. Reasonable standard hotel.
The first night was not booked in so (at 1am) had to walk to a partner hotel for our room that night and then back again in the morning. The second night I was awoken about 2am with a lot of bites all over my body. I subsequently found the bed to be covered in bugs. The porter simply didn't know what to do and would have preferred it if I had just said 'OK, I'll just go back to sleep, then'. After a fairly long conversation he offered another room at 5am (with used bed sheets!). I asked him to find us another room in another hotel which he reluctantly did, and about 3am we got another room. The next day the manager wanted to charge us 'only' 50% of the fee for that night! Eventually we were begrudgingly given that night free but nothing in the way of an apology; only a thinly veiled annoyance at the inconvenience we had caused.
Wifi was not working
location helpful staff
room needs updating no kettle in room
Hotel Virigilio is not one of the fanciest but for its price range, it is definitely one of the best in Rome. we were there with our 2 year old son....the staff were very accomodating and nice to our kid. The room was clean and large enough. The little breakfast area had a high chair that was perfect for our kid.
Breakfast had our acceptable number of choices but wasn't specifically tasty. I personally went on toast and cheese all 4 days
It's clean and near metro station.
Breakfast not so good.
When we arrived the foyer look fantastic! Then we went to go to our room on the first floor Big sign on the elevator "out of use" OK lug all our luggage up stairs...The bed was like concrete and there was even enough room on the floor "anywhere" to put our suitcases down - so small and the bed was pushed into one corner. Would not stay there again
Same food for breakfast.
Quiet atmosphere: I had a rear room on level three and I didn't hear a sound. The rate was very fair for the time of year (August) The breakfast was very decent with a large buffet.
