Hotel Canova is just down the road from the beautiful basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, in the heart of Rome. Walk to the Coliseum in less than 10 minutes. This small hotel was once a monastery.

After a long day of touring, the bed was very hard and the pillows flat. The room lacks air circulation, though luckily the weather was agreeable so we could open the window. The breakfast was fine though both juice and coffee service came from a machine and were not great.
We were able to walk there from the train station. From there, we were able to walk to all of the major tourist sites. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
The bed and the pillows we're a bit hard. Breakfast was OK but not great. Bit chaotic and not a great deal of choice.con
The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was very clean and the situation convenient.
Very good location and comfortable room
Good place, rather close to metro and seesights. Excellent breakfast & good restaurant (Love pasta) just in the opposite home of the hotel.
Exelent location, vrty clean. If it happens to visit Rome again I'll stay at the same hotel
Room was dark
I had no bad impressions.
The hotel is at a nice place, relatively close to the Termini. It is clean, the staff is nice, the breakfast was delicious. I only stayed two nights, but it was really confortable.
It would be nice to have any vegetables for breakfast.
The location of this hotel is very convenient. It is in walking distance from the major tourist attractions.
Hotel is very centrally located and is walking distance from all main attractions and Roma termini. Staff also very helpful and you can leave your bags with them if you check in too early or check out late
- Shower is a bit small
- Location is great - Breakfast is normal
No tea making facilities in room, poor wifi connection in room
Staff, location of hotel food ok
Location is perfect if you are sightseeing in Rome on foot. Staff is very positive and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly varied, from eggs and bacon to sweet cakes! Overall a clean, nice small hotel in a top location.
Better mattress and pillows.
great staff. Let me charge my phone at the front desk.
great location, wonderful breakfast
Bad free wifi
Style of hotel design
Booked a standard double room and were given a very small double room which according to the fire plan was once a single room.
Good location. Very nice staff especially the guy doing breakfasts
The room could have been bigger
No fuss breakfast was good quiet at night as long as the windows are shut
The above problem..having to pay more rather than being refunded
Breakfast great...personnel good but limited abilities, cannot decide :( Rooms in first fl sucks n have humidity, unlike upstairs, it was nice n convenient , i paid in advance for 5 days wind up zpending 3 nights only, couldn't b refunded, but it was worthed, make sure u dont book economy n choose refundble options....in Italy you dont get money back easy, the opposite we were even charged extra for upgrading the room the 1st night...
wifi signal goes weak at some point.
the room furnishings, comfortable bed, value for money
Only the lukewarm coffee, but this seems to be part of life in Rome and Firenze! We like HOT coffee!
The friendly, helpful staff - especially the bell hop. The breakfast menu was truly great - all tastes provided for
The room smelled real bad as the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. I cannot take it so I ended up sleeping on the floor that night. Room I had was very dirty and the staff did not care
The view nothing else
it's too noisy in the deep night!
Location, services and room are all good.
Well, I have to say that the wifi did not work properly. However, you come to Rome not to hang out in Facebook, right? :)
I liked this hotel a lot - facilities, staff, location, breakfasts (!). Have nothing to complain about.
Too simple, not too delicious breakfast, no heating - in January it is needed... The biggest problem was with the deposit. The price for the first night was blocked in the account but when checking out it was promised that the amount will land on the account in 2-3 days. One receptionist "accidentally" forgot to do the measure, when i inquired another one did it - scantly. I had to wait 1 month to get my money back, and the staff was really arrogant when i made inquiries about this. Once you paid, the client is not important anymore. I strongly do not recommend this hotel.
Great price, good location near to Termini.
