The location, right in the central square of Busseto, with a large gated courtyard/garden/car park . The square has a nice bar, and pleasant adjoining shopping streets. Breakfast was generous, and had some savoury items as well as sweet. The one lady who seemed to be running everything was kind and helpful.
The twin beds were very short , very narrow, and infernally hard; I think the floor would have been softer. There is a clock tower adjacent which chimes all night. The furniture is generally shabby, though the building is impressive. The hotel bar and restaurant were closed when I was there.
Everything except the lack of its historic restaurant. The lady in reception made great efforts to find us somewhere to eat and the local restaurants and brasseries were very good and full of character.
Sadly the restaurant is now closed because of the death of its chef. We had looked forward to experiencing the menu which had come with a very good reputation.
Location at the heart of this charming town. The owner, mr. Bergonzi, ws the only person we encountered who could speak english well. We got along ok in french! We came to busetto because it's where verdi was from, and visiting his last home, a beautiful villa in sant'agata -- close enough for us to ride bikes to -- was a thrill. Being there was a wonderful change from the places overrun with tourists. A nice simple continental breakfast was provided.
The hotel is a little seedy. We were the only guests our first night, and the receptionist was also the cleaning lady. But that just added to the charm.
Friendly hotel, well situated for Busseto, all the Verdi sites and local castles - lots to do in the area. However the locals at the café can be noisy at night if you're on the front of the hotel.
Location is good
hotel is old rooms are small beds only ok bath shower was marginal
Hotel is very antique, maybe they need to be renew!?
The building has character, the situation fabulous, the village interesting
Right next door to the Teatro Verdi in Busseto. Only Verdi would bring you here but once here it is lovely for a short stay.
A hotel for Opera Lovers owned by sons of Carlo Bergonzi. Superb food and location in Busseto ,Verdi's home town.
