The staff and breakfast were great, Marco and Giorgio (I think?) were both very welcoming and helpful. The room was big enough and warm enough (we visited in February). We are not morning people but somehow we managed to be awake every morning just to catch the breakfast.
Our safe was broken and didn't work, the guy checked it out and tried to fix it but could not. The hotel is at the top of a big hill and the city bus stop is at the very, very bottom of the hill, almost a kilometer away (850m)! There is no shuttle to I Parigi so it is kind of a scary walk when returning late at night - the road is small, the cars drive very recklessly up the hill, and it is very dark. I did not penalize the hotel, but tourists need to be aware the the bus returning from Florence will pass the I Parigi bus stop if you don't tell the driver AND hit the stop button... it is an even LONGER walk from the bus stop after I Parigi (more than 1km)!
We stayed two nights at this hotel as we were visiting Florence. The staff is polite and the breakfast nice. It is a very beautiful property and it is probably lovely during the summer. A good place to stay if you have a car, it is just 15 mins from the old Florence.
There were some noise coming from out of our room. I think it was the bathroom from the room next door. It sounded like a very old generator or something like that. It started at 3 am and only stopped around 6 am. So we were awake almost this whole time, resulting in two very crank people in the morning. We complained at the reception and at the night the noise was a little less loud but still there, but we were so tired after walking the whole day that we could sleep through the noise. They could work on the isolation sound of the rooms.
We loved that the place is slightly outside the city, yet very easy to reach with a bus (only 15min drive). Yes there is a hill to walk up but it is so worth it! Awesome views, gives you a real tuscany feeling. Staff/owner very friendly, they even helped us order take-away pizzas. Room was big enough, comfortable and clean Wifi worked well. Good value for money.
The hairdryer was a bit weak but did the job ;)
quiet place in the hill surrounded green. space room for a family, kind staffs, parking
it'd better if we would have vegetables at breakfast. with car it's convenient to get the old town but really traffic during rush hour.
Excellent view and cool building Great breakfast Super helpful staff Rooms kept very clean; common area sitting room not so great Adequate parking Plenty of hot water, nice shampoo TV in room Food delivered quickly for dinner
Access road VERY narrow and hard to get to from the freeway Stairways narrow and no banister for top floor. No way to turn on the lights from the middle floor. Parking lot and walkway to hotel not paved. Common sitting area not well heated and door closes really slowly allowing pet cat to enter.
- Helpful staff - Nice neighborhood - Very clean - Breakfast is OK
- The hotel is located on a top of the hill with very narrow road to it - There is always a traffic jam on the way to Florence. There is an alternative road to Florence but it's very narrow - Long and steep up/downhill distance to walk to the bus stop
Great hotel, rooms, views, breakfast. However, the best of your own car - (priv parking)
Beautiful place. A different, type of hotel, almost felt like we belong there, like we always lived there. Excellent
Location was good because we were travelling by car, but it may be painfull if you have to come back from Firenze, late afternoon, tired, by foot from the bus stop.
Lovely unique property, lots of space and great patio area. Bus to town from bottom of the drive. Breakfast in the garden was superb on sunny mornings. We loved this place!
Stuning views, pool and wonderful atmosphere. The room was big, comfortable and overlooked the garden with theTuscan valley in the distance.
The mould in the shower
Good place for driving there, since Firenze is a small city, most of the places we can be reached by walk. You just need to park the car to a free public parking place (Michelangelo Platz), just 10 min driving from hotel. Staff are also nice and helpful.
This is a luxurious property with stunning views of the countryside. Breakfast and facilities overall were of a high standard which you would expect for the price. Owners are very helpful. We caught the bus into Florence (owner provides tickets) each day rather than drive the car.
There's only a couple of restaurants in the Galuzzo area that you need to drive to so have to be confident driving some narrow roads. We ate in Florence two nights and caught the bus home. It's quite a vigorous walk up the hill from the bus stop
Views Swimming pool Breakfast Comfortable bed Wifi
The place has terrific landscape view and is full of charming atmosphere. Spacious, comfortable rooms.
Staff, quality of rooms, location. Though not in the heart of the city, it's not too far too. Staff was amazing and ensured that we were comfortable.
Room, views, breakfast, staff and owners.
Nothing. Everything perfect! Drive up was challenging but delightful!
Wonderful staff, great breakfast, and I loved the country side view!
You must have a car or Vespa. The bus was a little 10 min hike up & down a hill.
The place, the grounds and the views really are stunning in the place plus it's nice and peaceful but not too far away from Florence. If you want to go in and visit it's only a 20 bus journey and the minibar was very reasonably priced
Wifi was poor but didn't really bother us.
Everything OK. Great location, nice view, friendly staff.
Bad coffee at the breakfast.
me and my mother had such a relaxing time here away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still so easy to reach via public transport. loved the pool area. would definitely come back.
Loved the peace and beautiful views from the balcony. The whole experience overall was excellent and I would totally recommend this to anyone with a love of the Tuscan area. The pool was welcoming and the breakfast area stunning. Marco and his brother were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Loved the family feel and the Dog and Cat who were equally a pleasure to meet.
Loved everything,,,no complaints
Great accommodation in a great location, well located just outside Florence (15 mins by bus, stop at Via Romano). The hotel itself is a romantic castle-ish building, with a small courtyard. The room was good, decent, clean. The airco works great, and relatively silent. The drinks in the minibar are rather cheap for a hotel. Enough free parking space for the car. A lot has been written about the moskitos in earlier reviews, and every bit true. Please do mind though, that this is not specific for the hotel, but for the region in general. You will find just as many moskitos in other hotels in the area. The pool was great, superb view, good seating facilities. Breakfast is under a roof, but outside, which can be a downside if it is chilly. Contrary to what has been mentioned in other reviews, breakfast is enough, both quantity and quality-wise and is resupplied till closing time. We do recommend this hotel for a stay in Florence.
As mentioned by other people, the hill to the bus stop is indeed steep. We decided to park our car in Florence. Another option is to park the car at bus stop Bottai (not the bus stop down the hill, but one bus stop further from Florence), at which there is a carpark.
It is quite an beautiful castle. You could really enjoy the mountain view and garden. They also have nor lovely dog and cute kitty.
A beautiful old castle in fabulous peaceful surroundings. Breakfast in the garden was gorgeous.
This B & B is a rare find, wonderful hosts with lovely breakfast out on the verandah. Room was gorgeous with stunning views over the hills. The pool is an added bonus and a lovely way to relax after hot sightseeing trips. The bus is easy to catch into town and the fruit seller at the bottom of the hill also sells beer for that walk back up the hill to the B & B.
