Unique interior. Good bed.
Bathroom not near the room. Difficult use for power outlet.
The guy who checked us in was nice but spoke no english. There was air conditioning in our room. The owner was contactable by phone and gave us a different room to which we booked which became available due to 2 others not wanting it as it was not what they booked. Alternatively they were going to find us another hotel.
Our room was not available when we arrived, they had given it to someone else. No mention of 6 flights of stairs to haul your cases up. No air conditioning in breakfast room. No lock on sliding bedroom door. Shared bathroom with a miniscule size shower and I am a slim person. No one spoke English. They took cash on the day we left when the room had already been charged to my credit card. Breakfast was dried toast wrapped in cellophane or a sweet bun.
Ho adorato l'arredamento siculo :)
very clean close to coastline with swiming facilities but rather far away from inner city part close to good supermarkets and we can recommend the pizza place a bit further up the street on the right
The owners are very nice people but forgot that we arrived at 21:30, so we stood at closed doors for quater an hour. The lady which cleans the rooms and serves the breakfast doesn't speak english, unforunately. It was a bit sad that we had a private room but were not allowed to lock it.
When you're booking a room in this apartment, you have to take in account that it is not a hotel, so for the most of time there is no one on registration 24/7. However, there is always someone in the morning, and whatever you need you will get. It is a very unique place, which gives you an opportunity to live a Sicilian life at least for a while:) We definitely liked the place, and the family that kindly hosted us. There were some little problems like no shampoo in the bathroom, or loud neighbors; however, we brought our shampoos and soon became friends with our neighbors:) Regarding the location:it is about 1,5 km walk to via Etna and to the beach; few minutes to Corso Italia- there are many shops and a bus stop from which you can take a bus to the airport; 2 supermarkets are near, and a great wine bar with 40,000 types of wine! I would definitely advice this place to people who like to discover and feel the Sicilian life, but for those who prefer comfort and service more than anything else, it might be a little bit problematic...
Loved the place, very typical, authentic Caravaggio style. Hosts was very friendly, spoke good English and helped us our way around Catania. Wifi worked very well, everything is clean and we had a comfortable room. Know what to expect from the pictures, it is a very authentic place, a bit museum like, but we loved it. Breakfast was a bit standard, however good and the coffee was sublime. Bathroom is located outside your room, but is private and did not bother us at all. Would highly recommend the place.
- Nice rooms. - Good air condition. - A small balcony. - Supermarket is close.
- Many-many stairs. - Breakfast is useless, forget it. - Really small fridge in the room. - Bathroom is on the elevator, not connected to the room. - Kitchen is on the end of elevator, other guests also can use it, poor facilities. - Nobody speaks good english. - WiFi is almost useless.
The room itself was beautiful and perfect. And interier is very nice.
The bathroom and the toilet are not in the room!!!No english speaking staff during the breakfast. English spoken only by the owner.Breakfast only sweet-cakes,with cheese, sometimes butter, and jam.Ham and eggs are just a dream:) Possibilities of overbooking that happend to us.Early morning transfers even it is confirmed does not work.We had to call a taxi from a non-stop bar and we almost missed our plane.
We booked four rooms through this web site. The one room that we stayed in was full of interest, and was the room featured in the publicity.
When we arrived from the airport the owner claimed a booking error and spread the rest of our party around two other very ordinary and more expensive hotels a car ride away. Next morning we met other guests who had had the same experience. They had spent the first two nights of their holiday in other hotels, before insisting that they were given a room at Il Caravaggio. We all chose the hotel for its unique character, but felt we had been scammed.
This hotel like museum=)
It was a little problem with the personal because they don't know English, so before coming just learn few basic world and phrases in Italian
Very unsatisfied with the staff attitude and service. They were not helpful at all, even though we were in a quite difficult situation. They don't answer the phone. I called them couple of times, and they didn't do nothing that we agreed on. Wouldn't recommend this B&B to anyone.
The staff is very nice and the apartment is very well located. We had a very big room with a double bed and another single bed (which we didn't need). The apartment has an old style but it's well equiped.
The internet connection sometimes fails; the breakfast is very poor, with only supermarket cakes (nothing fresh), no fruit, no croissants, no fresh bread, and on one of the days there wasn't even juice (although there's coffee/cappucino/tea available by request). A definitive point for improvement!
A kitchen at disposal if necessary, 'The Leopard' style decor reminiscent of past nobility... the details in the objects in the lounge, the courtesy of the owner who is so helpful (along with staff), the central location (boutiques, sea, not far away) ...
It is a nice house.
smell like cigarette in the flat. cheapest breakfast. Owner smoke in breakfast room. No balkony!!!
Beautiful interior, friendly, helpful stuff.
We stayed for 10 days. It was a luxury on a budget. Fantastic room very nice decor. The owner and his staff and family were very accomodating and the location was also very good. It was very spacious and the room was even nicer than it looked on the pictures. Sicilians are super nice people.
I liked it all but the stairs are not suitable for older or disabled people.
amazing decor and friendly service
