Magical location beside the ramparts of Erice. It's monastic in all the right ways.

The yard and the building itself are very beautiful and staff is very helpful and nice! Breakfast was very good (croissant, meat, orange juice, coffee, yoghurt, cereals...). Highly recommend this palce!

WIFI was a bit limited to only downstairs.

Upon an early arrival, the staff offered us breakfast which they did not need to do.

I have no complaints.

Il Carmine is in an former convent, inside the walls of Erice. It provided me with an excellent base to enjoy Erice and Trapani. It is a peaceful spot, and staff were helpful. There was ample good parking and I got good value for the price I paid.

Location was great! Reception was fine and the room was spatious.

Breakfast wasn't great but in Italy they just don't give you a good breakfast anywhere so not that bad but the coffee was horrible! And that is normally the best part of breakfast in Italy.

No coffee shop in hotel. No everyday changing of towels. No air conditioning for summer. Breakfast very limited.

Great location in walled city with splendid views

Really quiet, lovely spacious room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Good breakfast with sweet and savoury options. Able to park right outside. (Like most places in Sicily there is a confusing one way system but stick with it. Drive up through he main car park, follow the signs through the top end of the town and Il Carmine can be found almost as you leave the town by the ports del Carmine)

location if you arrive in Erice by car you can drive by park and you are walking everywhere the setting is wonderful, modest as it should be in an old convent

The bedroom and ensuite were of a good standard although shower cubicle a bit on small side. Breakfast was good

Nowhere in hotel to get a drink or snacks after 10.00am. Steep hills to climb up to village centre to cafes and restaurants which are few and far between this time of year and expensive. Walking around village difficult on wet cobbled streets. A place to visit in spring or summer not winter!

Very relaxed. Nice staff. Warm rooms particularly as weather outside was horrible.

Value,location,access(tough in Erice for most hotels)

Located in a medieval village, it is in a beautiful spot overlooking Trapani. Gorgeous building. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Family room was large and had 2 twin beds and a double, as well as a large bathroom. Breakfast was simple and fresh, but enough to get us started each day. We had water problems on day one and the owner was very apologetic, gave us bottled water to use (for drinking, brushing teeth, etc) the first night, and had the problem fixed by morning.

This is not a reflection of the hotel, but the winter months are quiet in Erice so options for dining and shopping are limited, but it was still a sweet village.

The hotel is located in an absolutely beatiful town, Erice, still having buildings dated back to 12th centuary, and exeptional views. Both people at reception were most helpful and welcoming. The room was relatively large and had a balcony, though tiny, to the outside space with lovely trees and nice view. Must be very pleasant to stay there during hot summer time.

It was very tempting to stay in historic building, however, as we were staying in January, this was not the right time for this place, as there were no other visitors. The room was cold, the heating was on for a few hours in the everning and then back in the morning, so at arrival and during the night it was freezing. There was no proper table, just a tiny one fixed to the wall in a corner. Wi-Fi Internet was available, but did not work neither from our room, nor from the very place where router was. Blanket defenitly needed proper cleaning, as it outcase was soiled. Pillows were too hard.

The room was pretty and spacious, the ceiling was high, bathroom was warm, after all, it was very comfortable room. Staff were friendly. Breakfast restaurant was very interesting and conveied impression of ex- monastery. I only stayed in this hotel and in Erice one night, but I needed at least one more night.

It is a lovely restoration of an ancient convent. Everyone was delightful and helpful. The breakfast was bountiful, delicious, and included items we did not see anywhere else in Sicily. The women attending to breakfast was very nice and saw to our every need.The location was perfect - central and with easy safe parking. It was quiet and peaceful and we slept very well. Excellent value for your money and everything you want to see - right outside your doorstep!

It is very simple - austere - no frills. But I really wasn't looking for frills - and instead we had a very peaceful, authentic experience. If you want fancy - this is the wrong hotel for you.

the only thing that needs a small change is the Tv in the bedroom as it was too small. i would go again to this hotel

Don't be put off by the word 'simple' in the hotel description as you will have all the amenities you need. This hotel holds a serenity that is wonderful. You won't forget your stay here.

If you get the cable car up to Erice, be careful as it closes when there are high winds and it can be difficult to get back down to Trapani.

Splendid location and "special atmosphere"

Taking everything into account the pricing seems rather ambitious to me...

Staying in a converted monastery was unique and very atmospheric. Breakfast was good.

Staff was excellent! Especially that attractive young woman at the reception, who spoke quite good english and was very nice and helpful. Thank you!
