Il Casello Country House B&B

Il soggiorno è stato semplicemente divino. L'ho scelto grazie alle recensioni lette e sono rimasta più che soddisfatta. Lo staff è gentilissimo e disponibile; il posto è incantevole con una splendida vista sulla Valle del Chianti; per gli amanti dell'enologia o più semplicemente del buon vino, questo è il posto ideale; colazione ottima. L'accoglienza calorosa, l'atmosfera amichevole e informale, la cura dell'ambientazione, le dimensioni della doccia (per due!), il panorama dalla terrazza della colazione, il bicchiere di vino e le chiacchiere al tramonto.

Non potersi fermare ancora qualche giorno!

La stanza assegnata non corrispondeva affatto a quella illustrata sul sito di booking. Sita al piano terra, niente travi a vista, molto piccola e situata in un posto di passaggio per cui eravamo costretti a tenere sempre chiuse le tende. Da ultimo, durante tutto il soggiorno, da lunedi a venerdi non sono mai stati cambiati gli asciugamani in bagno ed I lenzuoli. Con camera diversa il soggiorno sarebbe stato migliore!!!

Paolo and Angelica were very nice and attentive hosts, their restaurant recommendations all proved to be very good. My apartment was spacious and had a typical Tuscan atmosphere with view towards the countryside.

..That my stay was too short.

The owners went out of thier way to make you feel wanted. Very nice place! They gave you ideas and places to go, vineyards for wine tasting and places to eat that they themselves have checked out.

Bed was a little uncomfortable.

The staff were amazing and very helpfully, probably the best part of the chianti region, loved Greve

We stayed a week at Il Casello in mid-October. It is ideally placed for visiting Chianti, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and the other main Tuscan hotspots. The B&B has a lovely homely feel (a 'country house' as described), our room was very comfortable with wonderful views, and we had the use of a large sitting room plus sunny terraces, swimming pool etc. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, with Julia (English) a mine of information and advice about local places. Highly recommended.

it's a lovely country house in a great setting with postcard Tuscan views - it's clean, very well decorated, spacious and has all the amenities one could hope for. The staff are excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful and are able to offer excellent advice on where to eat and what to see. A nice touch were the printed out directions for walking and running routes to the nearest towns. Also, a large jug of chilled ice tea for guests on warm afternoons.

the only thing we didnt like was that Il Casello is situated n a busy road that connects Greve and Panzano - and our room faced the road. As it was warm and the heating/aircon wasn't fully operational (the central heating had been turned on due to a cold spell before our arrival), we had to sleep with the windows wide open - and the traffic noise made sleep a challenge, not to mention the mosquitoes that dived bombed us most of the night. On the Saturday and Sunday - the road is a very popular route for motorcyclists and this constant nose can be very annoying.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great rural location. Pretty easy to find.

The room was very big and comfortable. Julia was very helpful and informative and the Il Casello was a very charming place to stay.

We did not like having to use a key to lock a door and a gate every time we left and returned. It felt as if we were in an institution. :o) Also, the breakfast lacked variety and was fairly minimal. It was not ready, including no coffee or tea, our last morning there before we had to leave which was well after the breakfast opening time.

Beautiful location and very friendly staff

Il Casello is definitely everything shown on the pictures and a little bit more! Sylvia and Julia made the difference being so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were all decorated differently, very charming with all the services, you need. The TV is rather small, but who watchs TV, when having a view like Il Casello? We spend each night on the terrace and watched the sunset having a glass of wine. Julia's father in law's white wine was excellent. Greve is really nice, and so it the little town up hill which name I have already forgotten. You're in Florence in 30 minutes, but an hour to Siena. The pool was nice, too. Only flaw were actually the invasion of (nice) Dutch families with small children who would only be able to communicate on a rather high screaming level. But we only bumped into them twice, so it was okay. Breakfast was also a nice experience. Carla bakes great cakes! :-) And we were lucky to meet several nationalities from Canada and Sweden and had nice times together. Great place and we can only recommend it!

Whilst in Tuscany, I find it best to "settle" at a location and then make day trips....Greve area is ideal for this concept and ll Casello is an ideal specific location. Not a lot of amenities, although for a bed and breakfast it is first rate with a fine pool, lovely breakfast, free parking....all under the auspices of super management.

Nice location between Panzano and Greve on the Chianti road, with great views. Very friendly, well-informed staff. Nice rooms, also on ground floor with terrace. Good-sized pool. Adequate breakfast. No restaurant but list and map available of all good restaurants in the neighbourhood, including the famous Officina della Bistecca in Panzano. Bottles of local wine for sale at reception. Free, shaded parking.

Some rooms are right on the Chianti road which is very busy during the day, less at night. Wi-fi only works in the reception area. And that is the only peeve I can think of...

location was great, travelled around and was nice and relaxing to come back to.

Julia had ever detail perfected. From a list of restaurants in the area to being able to having tea in your room she had everything covered. In all of Italy, I would have to say this was the best b&B. The breakfast was splendid and all of the staff were amazing. Loved the girl that put out the breakfast every morning. Huge smiles. Truly would recommend. Henry & Adriana

The staff was beyond wounderful. The BB sits right in the middle of many small towns and it only takes 10 minutes to get to anything. The room its self was not over the top but very pretty. The view was amazing. You are literrly 500 yards from one of the wine tasting vineyards. We would def. go back and bring our family and friends.

If I had to mention anything it would be the hot water. It did not get as hot as I preferr but I would still stay there!!!! :)

Le petit déjeuner était moyen et pas ré-approvisionné. La situation au bord de la route de l'établissement.

la décoration et la maison, surprenante par le nombre de pièces et... la vue trés belle de notre chambre pour la découverte du "Chianti"
