The pool area is not all that great, but really - not the reason you stay in a castle. It's above ground and could use some maintenance, but for us not a big deal. We could have missed it altogether and it still would have been a great experience.
It's a castle! Danielle, the owner, was very welcoming and informative. He gave us much information regarding his family and how they came to own the castle and the history. Beautiful place and lovely rooms. When we arrived, we were shown to a room that did not have A/C and Danielle said it was too hot and moved us to another one that was much nicer with a balcony! And A/C!! The town is very small with only a couple options for dinner, but Danielle pointed us to a nice place and we had a very tasty dinner not far away. The sunflowers were also in full bloom while we were there, nice bonus! Pretty much full access to the entire place to look around and lounge at your leisure. Only a few areas closed off. Grounds were beautiful too and you could see where there used to be a moat! 9th Century Castle! And Danielle was the perfect host!!!
