Score from 15 reviews Very good
Friendly family run hotel. Easy walking access into Arpino centre. Not our first nor will it be our last visit to this hotel, housed in a beautiful historic building in its pleasant grounds with ample parking space.
Evening dining facilities would be beneficial. .
on arrival i was surprised to be told that the hotel restaurant was closed. I should have been told this in advance as i was obliged to walk in the dark through narrow, poorly lit streets to find a place to eat dinner. luckily the local trattoria, thich was just about to close, stayed open and fed me and what food they had on offer was gratefully accepted. (the hotel had told me that they were open until 10.00pm.)
service was incredible.. wifi worked fantastic beautiful little city
The hotel is elegant with lots of charm and is run by the owner, Anna Maria and her two children , Sonya and Rodolfo. They are very accommodating and gracious hosts. The room was beautifully furnished with a comfortable bed and a clean , spacious bathroom. The breakfast was also very good and plentiful. If the hotel would have balconies it would be perfect. Thank you Anna Maria for a memorable stay.
Nothing at all.
Nothing we didnt like
The friendly helpful staff, scenic views, beautiful garden, superb breakfast buffet, and historic setting made this a most enjoyable place to stay. The desk clerk told us the story of the historic town, as well as giving us a local dinner recommendation that was quite good.
The mattress was a bit firm, and the pillows were flat. (But that seemed to be a common theme in most places we stayed in Italy.)
Location. Simplicity and old fashioned air - family run, not swish.
Some people might find it too unmodified 1960s grandmother's taste....
Room,location,garden,building, such a lovely hotel
We have stayed twice now at the Cavalier Hotel which is about a 5 minute walk from the center of the town and offers great panoramic views ( especially if you like photography ) of the surrounding mountains, hills and the hillside town itself. We were made to feel very welcome by the Hotelier and staff and given lots of support regarding, eating out, travel etc. We can't say enough about it but will definitely stay again on our next trip
All our needs were met.
Very satisfied.. I was impressed by this hotel, a very impressive building breathing history, but still comfortable and meticulously clean. Staff was very friendly and even helped me get in contact with an Italian doctor after having been bitten by an insect; they even provided me with the medicine needed free of charge! That's what I call service..
Not enough electric sockets in room, but that is just a minor problem
Rooms Views Breakfast choices Staff Terrace Location
room with magnificent view over town and valley
The views were stunning, staff very friendly and helpful, and breakfast great
No kettle facilities in the room and an inconsistent shower. These did not spoil the stay, the views made up for everything!
Hotel was beautiful and very clean...staff very friendly and warm...and the breakfasts were fabulous.
Perfect location for Arpino, nice hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The view from the hotel is excellent and the walk into this wonderful small city is easy. Many things to see not just in town but also within an hours drive.
Breakfast was limited and the beds thin.
Beautiful views over the old town, excellent breakfast, friendly & helpful staff, unspoilt with no tourists, hotel in restored historic building.
3rd single bed was fold up bed so not comfortable for teenager
Excellent service with good staff. Nice location of hotel. Very good value for money. Would stay again.
Restaurant only does breakfast. No tea and coffee in room but this seems to be the norm in many Italian hotels. Would be great if it could be included as local cafes close Sunday and Monday.
Beautiful old building, garden and hall. Very clean bathroom and bedsheets. Very nice village, walking to the other end is worth it, amazing (almost 360°-) view allover the hills.
The in the room description promised view was a disappointment, the (hillside) room on third floor was overlooking the street through very small windows.
Have just spent a few days here, beautiful location with terrace and gardens . Spacious rooms and wonderful breakfast. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Amazing value for money
Hotel building is around 600 years old and situated just outside the 4 or 5 BC walls of town. The gardens and building have been beautifully renovated. Bedroom is huge, and bathroom tastefully decorated although typically Italian in size. Thanks to the helpful staff, we were directed to one of the best evening meals we had in Italy. Breakfast was very good and staff checked we had enough options (not being a nationality who often visit)
Lovely room, fantastic location, really obliging front staff. Romantic setting.. Excellento..!!
Find it difficult to have any issues, great time, great place.
I loved the character of this place and the concierge was fantastically helpful..even sorting out a great restaurant for us when we arrived late. He also suggested a walk to the tower at the top of arpino that was a great expkoration of the lovely medieval town. Well worth visiting, the hotel, the place, real italy.
Only that wifi was intermittent.
Beautiful hotel with great views. We actually only stayed one night as a stop over but wished we had spent more time in Arpino. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was typical for Italy but very good and had plenty to offer.
