Pillow, no fan in bathroom, bathroom door doesn't stay open, breakfast was so-so
Great location, picturesque old convent with lovely quad around the old cloisters
quite large but autstere rooms so a bit cold for November - but would be great in summer!
Excellent services with staff who helped to customize our Siena experience including suggesting tours, sites to see and restaurants.
Inconsistent wifi(constant dropping).
I thought the location was absolutely excellent, with my beautiful panoramic view over the Tuscan hills. I had a large room for just me, but that was perfect, with 2 big windows and lots of fresh air! Perfect place. Beautiful fresh coffee in the morning (the waiter did a great café latte) and a nice selection of savoury and sweet things for breakfast. The receptionist let me practise my Italian on her, which was kind!
There was no computer in the main lobby to use in case of emergency (if I needed to contact home). However, I didn't see this as a bad point, I'd come for an historic monastic experience, so I didn't want to look at emails anyway!! :)
good size room, very good breakfast
It would have been nice to have two chairs in the room
As the title reads, we were very pleased with the service, both recepcionists were extremely helpful and kind. Olgeta , the one who did our check in,speaks perfect spanish. She was very nice and friendly..made us feel at home. The night recepcionist was very kind as well. We asked for the internet password and he came up to our room with it. Also , after all the night working he was helping at the breakfast, efficient and smiling. The building is beautiful and the rooms confortable, What else do you need?
The ladies at the reception desk are very kind.
You cannot find anybody in the reception in mornings, because it's a monastry there is no elevator and the stairs are steep. Breakfast is poor.and at the booking page it says the parking is free and actually it is not
location historical building
no bar no restaurant poor wifi they can run much better the opportunities of the hotel
We were on 2nd floor and knew from previous reviews that it is best not to be on ground floor. Our room was large and spacious with a good sized bath and shower. It also had lovely views down into the countryside. This hotel is part of an old monastery and as such is not a chain hotel where all the rooms are the same. So if that's what you want you need to book somewhere else. It's a bit quirky with old floors and interesting spaces. Its about a 10 minute walk to the square and Duomo and nothing is too far away; Siena is not a large town and is beautiful to explore without thinking you have walked miles. In summary, we would certainly return to this hotel but we would want to be on second floor, there is a lovely end room which we glimpsed in passing.
For us we liked everything but I know some people will not like the WiFi access - you have to go downstairs where there is a WiFi room. In Siena WiFI availability is fairly random. There are no lifts so if you do book the second floor there are a few stairs. Breakfast is delicious, with lovely cakes but it is Italian and not your full fry up!
The breakfast could be better
Wonderful old building with an amazing courtyard
The room was great, the breakfast nice and the establishment was serene and romantic and just what we needed to enjoy Siena.....will be back with my clients of bestvino Tours
I liked the pleasant welcome and the spacious room with the lovely shower. Great to have parking within the city itself. Fabulous view from breakfast room and wonderful leafy courtyard.
Siena is a very beautiful city and & Il Chiostro Del Carmine has to be the perfect place to stay. It's history & atmosphere echoes that of Siena. The staff are young, friendly, attentive & efficient. The rooms are atmospheric and clean. Hauntingly beautiful! Brilliantly located to explore the city on foot.
Lack of effective extraction in bathrooms. Mirror in bedroom required. More than 3 hangers per person would be useful. Breakfasts could be improved upon but were adequate bearing in mind the price.
There is no wifi on the room, although it is written on description of the hotel. We were really disappointed.
Location was good
Poor service from the staff. No advice where you can get teas or coffee and any basic information .
The receptionist in particular was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast staff similarly so.
Intermittent wi fi; no bar.
Staff were helpful. Rooms are good size and location is convenient.
No wifi in the room and wifi in communal area downstairs was unreliable. Poor breakfast.
Loved this hotel, it was charming and special. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The wifi is non existent in the room but excellent in the lobby area. The breakfast was typical continental (I never expect too much). Location was on the edge of the tourist area but Siena was small enough to walk everywhere.
We like the location, cleanliness and service.
Breakfast is not quite up to standard.
Location was good
No lift and wifi very poor
Location, room size, good breakfast, friendly staff
Mattress and furnishings seemed like they were original to the monastery when it was built in 1400s. Had two loads of laundry sent out by Consear, t-shirts and shorts, and received a €49 bill.
The employees are extremely courteous and helpful. The building itself is amazing, living in a 13th Century Monastery is a unique experience. We had a superior room with a terrace with a view of the Monastery bell tower and of the country side. Very quiet. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance from every site in town, less than ten minutes walk from Piazza Del Campo, the Duomo and restaurants. Should we travel back to Siena, we will certainly stay there again. Highly recommended.
The rooms would benefit of a little upgrading in decoration. A *real* hair dryer would add to the amenities instead of the old fashioned one they had on the wall. Also, some coffee, not just tea, should be available in the rooms
Kind staff, Very calm place, so we slept very well and our window ( second floor ) opened on the marvelous Toscany landscape at sunrise ! Excellent situation , 5 or 10 minutes walking from Duomo and Piazza del Campo.
Maybe breakfast a little light, compared to other hotels ? ... The stairs ? ... yes but at 65 we still have breath and legs .
That it was so close to everything. We stayed in rooms away from the main hotel and they were ok. Not the best bed but for one or two nights it's fine. It was nice and quite The breakfast was really good, the English speaking girl at the reception was very nice and helpfull. And the location was fantastic I would stay there again
I would like real towels and a good comforter in the bed. Our closet smelled not so good
