Via Della Diana 4, 53100 Siena, Italy – Show map
Staff is helpful and multilingual. All questions answered. The hotel is part of a church monastery and is truly amazing - 400 years old. Breakfast was self serve but in an open-air courtyard incredible --food was plentiful and delicious.

no bar no restaurant poor wifi they can run much better the opportunities of the hotel
We were on 2nd floor and knew from previous reviews that it is best not to be on ground floor. Our room was large and spacious with a good sized bath and shower. It also had lovely views down into the countryside. This hotel is part of an old monastery and as such is not a chain hotel where all the rooms are the same. So if that's what you want you need to book somewhere else. It's a bit quirky with old floors and interesting spaces. Its about a 10 minute walk to the square and Duomo and nothing is too far away; Siena is not a large town and is beautiful to explore without thinking you have walked miles. In summary, we would certainly return to this hotel but we would want to be on second floor, there is a lovely end room which we glimpsed in passing.
For us we liked everything but I know some people will not like the WiFi access - you have to go downstairs where there is a WiFi room. In Siena WiFI availability is fairly random. There are no lifts so if you do book the second floor there are a few stairs. Breakfast is delicious, with lovely cakes but it is Italian and not your full fry up!

I liked the pleasant welcome and the spacious room with the lovely shower. Great to have parking within the city itself. Fabulous view from breakfast room and wonderful leafy courtyard.
Siena is a very beautiful city and & Il Chiostro Del Carmine has to be the perfect place to stay. It's history & atmosphere echoes that of Siena. The staff are young, friendly, attentive & efficient. The rooms are atmospheric and clean. Hauntingly beautiful! Brilliantly located to explore the city on foot.
Lack of effective extraction in bathrooms. Mirror in bedroom required. More than 3 hangers per person would be useful. Breakfasts could be improved upon but were adequate bearing in mind the price.
Friendly staff.
There is no wifi on the room, although it is written on description of the hotel. We were really disappointed.
Location was good
Poor service from the staff. No advice where you can get teas or coffee and any basic information .
The receptionist in particular was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast staff similarly so.
Intermittent wi fi; no bar.
Staff were helpful. Rooms are good size and location is convenient.
No wifi in the room and wifi in communal area downstairs was unreliable. Poor breakfast.
Loved this hotel, it was charming and special. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. The wifi is non existent in the room but excellent in the lobby area. The breakfast was typical continental (I never expect too much). Location was on the edge of the tourist area but Siena was small enough to walk everywhere.
We like the location, cleanliness and service.
Breakfast is not quite up to standard.
Location, room size, good breakfast, friendly staff
Mattress and furnishings seemed like they were original to the monastery when it was built in 1400s. Had two loads of laundry sent out by Consear, t-shirts and shorts, and received a €49 bill.
The employees are extremely courteous and helpful. The building itself is amazing, living in a 13th Century Monastery is a unique experience. We had a superior room with a terrace with a view of the Monastery bell tower and of the country side. Very quiet. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance from every site in town, less than ten minutes walk from Piazza Del Campo, the Duomo and restaurants. Should we travel back to Siena, we will certainly stay there again. Highly recommended.
The rooms would benefit of a little upgrading in decoration. A *real* hair dryer would add to the amenities instead of the old fashioned one they had on the wall. Also, some coffee, not just tea, should be available in the rooms
Kind staff, Very calm place, so we slept very well and our window ( second floor ) opened on the marvelous Toscany landscape at sunrise ! Excellent situation , 5 or 10 minutes walking from Duomo and Piazza del Campo.
Maybe breakfast a little light, compared to other hotels ? ... The stairs ? ... yes but at 65 we still have breath and legs .
That it was so close to everything. We stayed in rooms away from the main hotel and they were ok. Not the best bed but for one or two nights it's fine. It was nice and quite The breakfast was really good, the English speaking girl at the reception was very nice and helpfull. And the location was fantastic I would stay there again
I would like real towels and a good comforter in the bed. Our closet smelled not so good
Old building full of character with a beautiful cloister courtyard. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel lacked facilities. No bar or coffee/eating facilities and wi fi only available in one small area. The courtyard would have been a lovely setting to enjoy a drink or coffee but this was not readily available. Very basic bed and breakfast really and not what I would expect from a 4 star establishment.
Good sized twin room, comfortable beds, large clean bathroom. Breakfast was standard Italian fare, lovely in the courtyard on the good weather days. Location looks a little far out on the map but was actually only a short walk to the centre, and the area around the hotel was quiet at night. Can't understand why so many of the reviews for this hotel are so critical.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good location close to town and has parking(but only for small cars)
- Location - Architecture - Cleanliness - Facilities
Everything except one thing
It would have been nice to get a coffee or other drink in the day
Location was great and we were able to enjoy all aspects of the Palio from the Friday parade and practice through to the Saturday street parades and race etc. Knowledgab and friendly staff
We were on the top floor in a good room but our holiday companions had a ground floor with no outside window. The two rooms were not really comparable.
