    panorama food and view in the restaurant environment

    Our room was in a small house next to the main building. The room was nice but the soundproofing of the walls was terrible. We could clearly understand what was said in the next room. Avoid the following rooms at any cost: 16,18,19 The indoor wellness: 1 very small pool, 1 sauna and 1 steam bath

    The view, the spa and the food were all very very good. But a bit on the expensive side.

    The breakfast was ok, but not excellent. No fresh orange juice, no pancakes, the bread was not so fresh but the pastries were very nice.

    The building and the surrounding scenery is picturesque. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were good. Good soundproofing. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had one meal in the up stairs restaurant, overlooking the valley and it was a lovely experience with delicious food.

    Although the staff were friendly, the service we received was far from our expectations, considering the reputation of the resort and the price we paid. We felt that the resort was under staffed and disorganised. We arrived with barely a welcome and no help with parking or our luggage. Once we checked in, we were sent to a room a great distance away from the reception. It was so far and complicated that we needed to stop and ask for directions. Once we found it, we we're disappointed to find it had not yet been made up and still had the previous occupants belongings in. So we made the long journey back to the reception to inform them. It did not help that the two lifts that we had to take back and forth were extremely slow. The very apologetic receptionist did offer us a free drink at the bar whilst we waited for another room to be cleaned. She also gave us a bottle of wine and some biscotti to compensate and it was appreciated. However, we also had disappointing service in the spa and at the pool. We felt that we were often ignored as the hotel was waiting on a large corporate marking group, which it seemed they placed in much higher importance than the other guests. At one point when I was struggling with my bags, the porter literally ran past me to help this larger group with theirs! From our experience, it was not worth the money.

    The service and the surroundings were excellent. The rooms were very comfortable. This was a very good location to stay for a few days whilst on a driving holiday.

    Long walk to & fro the room to the lobby or pool area.

    The room and the staff - especially Elena on reception - very welcoming and efficient! Fantastic view of the Serchio valley. Excellent La Sallete gourmet Tuscan restaurant

    Found the bar area a bit 'cold' and corporate. Main restaurant opening times a bit hit and miss.

    The test of a great hotel is how they manage a difficult situation. There was flooding in the area before we arrived. The hotel employees did everything possible to get the hotel and the access road quickly back into service. We were very impressed with the sincere friendliness of the staff and the excellent accommodations, which included every possible comfort. The view of the nearby village of Barga from our room was breathtaking.

    very scenic, a great place to relax. good restaurants with fabulous views on site,but maybe a bit pricey.

    check in and parking spot not well marked. great driving skills required to park the car.

    Great location with fabulous views from the terrace. Very clean and comfortable.

    Need a vehicle to access any shops and restaurants. No courtesy bus to nearest town.

    We were upgraded to a fantastic room with the most amazing view. Very helpful and friendly staff. The Veranda restaurant were better than the upstairs fine dining restaurant. Faboulous breakfasts looking out over Barga and the mountains.

    The menues in the restaurants are a bit small when you stay for serveral days and decide to eat in the hotel every night. Nothing to complain about the food though.

    The staff was very nice overall (except a little incident at the check-in). The spa is really nice and combined with a stunning location on the hill top really makes it one of the best places we ever stayed so far.

    We had a problem when checking in. We had a reservation for an Executive Double Room with a view but we received a Classic Room without a view. We went back to the reception and received the room as per the reservation but the receptionist did not offered to help us with the luggage from one room to the other even though the new room was on a different floor and it was after 22:00. We made a complaint on this and proper apologies were presented to us the very next day.

    Amazingly beautiful place

    My room was in semi/basement, view on the legs of the people passing through. The gym was poorly ventilated and had the strong smell of chlorine coming from the swimming pool.

    Everything. The views and location on the Tuscan hills were perfect. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely and the rooms and facilities were clean and modern.

    The quality of the rooms and the public areas of the hotel was to a very high 4 star standard. The staff in the restaurants and bar and the swimming pool were very attentive, good breakfast and good value for money.

    The reservation details were not correctly receivwed by the hotel (due apparently to the Marriott systems and Booking.com not being synchronised) and even by 6pm our second room was not ready. Not a good first impression. The signage to get into the hotel and then throughout the hotel is diabolical, and something that I am sure must irritate the great number of residents. Needs sorting out as does the spelling on the internal signage.
