Great service, change to palatial room, clean well appointed bathroom, harbour view, quiet area but for two metal manholes in road outside that some cars would hit
If you are old or ageing and require the right thickness and cushioning with a pillow, most of Italy is a difficult mix of too flat, too hard 'slabs'. The beds are firm but great for the posture and surprisingly comfortable but you have to demand the best soft pillows from the house. And then you may only get close (as we did here)
Friendly staff, excellent location close to the bay, shopping and the railway station.Easy to get to other locations by train or bus. The views out over the bay from our room were beautiful. Not to touristy yet!!
There was nothing at all we didn't like about the place.
family friendly, cosy, perfect location, helpful lovely caring staff..
Beautiful location & view Handy having a kitchen Lovely area, only a train ride away from Cinque Terre
Air conditioner could only be used until 8pm
Alberto's customer service was 5***** and did not go unnoticed, particularly in an era where this seems to be a dieing art. His willingness and helpfulness made us feel welcome and was so appreciated since we have never been to Italy and do not understand or speak the language. He went above and beyond, giving us helpful tips for riding the train, understanding train schedules, and offering directions to the station, grocery store, coffee shop, and some restaurants in the area. The room did not feel cramped; the bed was comfortable; the armoire ample; and views were pleasant. Rapallo was our favorite destination in Italy and we would most certainly book again at II Convento.
The air conditioning did not work well and the pillows were thin. No bathroom counter space. But, all of these things seem to be standard in Italy so not necessarily the fault of the lodging (but could be improved). Although the street noise could be loud at times it did not affect our sleep.
Great to have a kitchenette in the room. Very helpful, Scottish fellow at the desk. Within walking distance of everything. Free WiFi with no need to sign up to anything. We thought Il Convento was great!
Difficult parking, although hotel did have one reserved parking spot so you could unload luggage.
Nicely located, some rooms with sea view. Easy access to beach and restaurants. Very hospital and friendly staff.
Our room (standard category) had no real bed, just a convertible couch hence the quality of sleep was limited.
People were great and very informative Location fabulous . Spotless facilities Will happily recommend to our friends
Kitchen facilities were okay. Suggest some wine glasses would be good and a kettle even if it goes on the stove.
Confort, cleanness, location, staff
Location was perfect, venue was great. Service and assistance given were excellent. Would happily stay again.
One qpillow and a bit flat. Wifi good at reception area.
The friendliness of the staff. The room was spacious with three windows. The atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and quiet. The furniture showed taste. The beach is nearby as well as the city centre. The management had reserved a parking space along the road (free of charge!!)
The Wi-Fi could work more smoothly.
The staff were excellent Location great
Liked it all
The rooms are large and nice, the hosts were great and the location is almost perfect (quiet and with a very nice view).
The expandable sofa bed is the only inconvenience as it is not as comfy as a double bed. However, it is not so bad either...
Everything!! The accommodations, the staff, the food & wine and the location is perfect!!!!
location, cleanliness, friendly
Excellent view of the sea from our room.
It was quite noisy in the evening. The noise from people on the street below and the promenade across goes on till the early hours of the morning. But the sea view makes up for this.
We loved having a small kitchenette and the location and view were ex ellent
We had a studio apartment which only had a sofa bed and it was uncomfortable.
Great location, close to city center and beaches, quite place
One of the staff members was very helpful giving us tips where to eat and what day trips to take.
That there wasn't a separate bed in our apartment and we weren't told this upon booking, it was our honeymoon and we would have preferred a separate bed, a bit of luxury.
Clean comfortable rooms, located in lovely position pretty much on the waterfront, and only a short walk from the station.
Kind staff, helpful (Tourist information, car park,...), warmful welcome.
The 2 ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location on waterfront, easy access to everything. Spacious room with good outlook even although there was no sea view. Nice and quiet.
No wifi! We stayed 4 nights and no wifi any time. This was very frustrating and because of this I would not recommend this hotel. Sofa bed was big but hard and not very comfortable. A few tea/ coffee bags in kitchenette would have been a friendly gesture.
The location is fabulous and the staff, especially Tania, helped us with parking our car, directions to the train station, tickets for the boat to Portofino, keeping our bags after checkout, on and on!
