Ispra doesn't have much of anything going on.
Ispra doesn't have much of anything going on. Lakeside is not too exciting. Nothing much in the tiny town. Highlight was the pizzeria, and even then we kept getting told off for getting there too late. Not a great hub to get to other areas because you have to traverse some super narrow roads to get to Laveno or to the west side of the lake. If I had it to do again, I would stay in Cannobio or Sestra.ReginaNetherlands - 8.0Scored 8.0
Reasonable price for hotel.
Reasonable price for hotel. Took some work/luck to find a good restaurant. Proximity to Maalpensa airport was a big plus. Lake views less impressive than Stresa. Stresa is a bigger, more picturesque town, but much pricer hotels.

Ispra is a lovely town, with a nice little beach, but there could be more cafes and restaurants, especially in the beach area. While there were plenty of places, they were all very spread out around the town. Also in August, many of the restaurants were shut.ZofiaSpain

The rooms were spotless clean and beautifully decorated. The owner is a very kind Italian woman who really takes good care of her guests. Breakfast was ok but not very special: you have to like the sweet Italian breakfast (brioche, marmalade, fruits and yoghurt), no gluten-free options.

The location is perfect: very close to the lake and to the center of Ispra, but also close to the supermarket. The bedroom and bathroom are bigger than I expected, and have everything you need for a nice stay. The AC was well appreciated.
