The station is nearly a mile from the hotel and there were no facilities for getting to the hotel by any means other than walking. Directions were provided by the information office at the station and off we trudged, despite requests for help by telephone to the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is not operating because (we were told) the chef is unwell, long term, apparently (October 2014), so you have to walk back to the village for dinner (10 minutes brisk walking to the nearest café).
Our room was old-fashioned, but scrupulously clean and comfortable, with an excellent bed. The hotel is right beside the Paestum archaeological site, which could be seen from our (top floor) window. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was OK, although largely cakes rather than normal breakfast food.
