An excellent position in easy walking distance of the ruins at Paestum. Good service and the best evening meal of our stay in Italy.

Exceptionally hopaitable, comfortable, well run, and friendly family owned country hotel,furnished with antiques, with good staff and food, just round the corner from the temples of Paestum. Calm and quiet, clean spacious rooms overlooking the gardens, all excellent value and in a tranquil rural environment. Food simple,but good. Owners themselves on hand, helpful, professional, and attentive.

Definitely one of the best small hotels in Italy! More like a stylish country house with beautiful furnishings, antiques etc. and charming, helpful staff. The proximity of the hotel to the wonderful ruins of Paestum and its excellent museum which were both under 500 M. away.

We'd hoped to book the half board option but the restaurant had closed for the season. Staff were very helpful though, and recommended two excellent places to eat in the evenings - both within a ten minute drive. We'll just have to visit again when its own restaurant is open!

Loved everything

Nice restored farm house near the ruins of Paestum. Easy walk to the village for a meal. Lovely gardens on the property. The staff and owners are welcoming and accommodating. I would certainly stay here again.

Locked gate, no hot water, no television, no breakfast until 8:00 am, no available transport other than walking on streets with no sidewalks, far too overpriced.

A really nice place to stay when visiting the ruins. You really felt like going back to have dinner and relax was something you looked forward to doing.

This hotel was a real find and was ideally placed for visiting the ruins. The staff are very friendly and the rooms at the hotel are spacious and clean. Well worth a stay.

Wonderful traditional Italian country house design with beautiful lounges, friendly helpful staff and great location right next to the ruins

The restful garden was an excellent setting for a delicious dinner. The dining room was light and airy, a spacious traditional room for breakfast. The bedroom was very comfortable, again in renovated but traditional style. The staff were very hospitable. There was also a view of the Paestum ruins, about 400 metres away. Well worth an overnight stay. A very pleasant surprise in a not so attractive area.

A wonderful place to stay. The room interior was immaculate. Great view. Very clean. Restaurant is exceptional. Front desk is very helpful and genuinely friendly. I was lucky to have chosen such a restful and comfortable place to stay.

As we hate to waste water, it took a very long time for the water to get hot.

It was a beautiful hotel in a quiet and secluded area right across the street from Paestrum. We found the gardens lovely and the staff were exceptional. They went out of their way to help and provided a delicious dinner and breakfast. Home made cakes and jams were to die for.

It was difficult to find, but well worth the effort.

An extraodinarily wonderful place.

The first thiing to strike one about this hotel is the outer security, but once you've rung the right bells and got the right doors open you are in a pretty heavenly environment. The fine old house has public rooms like an antique shop, the gardens are beautifully tended and our room at least had a back door leading straight on to the garden. The couple managing the hotel were helpfulness itself. We had dinner there and it was really very good indeed - strongly recommended.

It was a lovely old building and very nicely furnished and decorated. All of the staff were friendly and professional. The location was excellent for touring the ruins of Paestum. The room we had was large and equipped with an air conditioner, which was very nice in the heat of Paestum in June. We also had a huge bathroom and a walk-in closet with mini-fridge. The breakfast in the morning was very nice with delicious cakes and pastries, fresh fruits and cereals.

Very limited menu for evening meals. There were only two options, but the food was excellently prepared and tasted delicious! We thought the bed was very uncomfortable and as hard as a rock.

Il Granaio dei Casabella is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. It is a tastefully restored old farm house in Paestum, Italy. Our room was spacious, with more that enough room to store clothes and other items. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, greeting us warmly and truly making us feel at home. A very nice breakfast is included, and the hotel also has a resturant that prepares wonderful goumet dinners at a reasonable price. Paestum was an ancient Greek colony in the Campania area of Italy with some of the best preserved Greek temples anywhere in the world. The hotel was within a block or 2 of the entrance to the temples, and about a half hour walk to the train station. I highly recommend this hotel to visitors to Paestum
