Well located and nicely appointed, modern renovation in a medieval palazzo managed by a very nice and pleasant family. A thank you in particular to Stefano (the Architect who is responsible for the great renovation job) for being always available and really helpful. Private secure parking available and a major plus. PLEASE pay close attention to the hours in which cars "are allowed" to tranist thru the old town (leaving it is not so problematic).
Finding it was a bit tricky and do not depend on the GPS. reaching it required negotiating some very narrow lanes and tight corners in the old town. Would be nice if some kind of bedside tables.
Central but very quiet location, big apartment, good beds, gated parking, helpful owner, would take it again
Apartment seemed on pictures more modern/stylish than it actually is. Little day light (not important for us but might be for others)
The perfect location so close to the main square. On a baking hot June afternoon, the building was blissfully cool, despite not apparently having any aircon (they knew how to build for hot climates in the 16C!). Very well provided apartment, with a stunning minimalist designer bedroom
Finding it was a bit tricky, despite the helpful maps and advice sent in advance by the owner, requiring navigating some very narrow lanes and tight corners in the old town. (We probably drove down some streets that we shouldn't have in the pedestrian area) The minimalist designer bedroom, though stunning in its way, lacked some conveniences like bedside tables, so we had to put our bits and pieces on the floor.
Fabulous flat, great location but if like us you arrive by car make sure that you pre-book private parking. We only stayed one night and wish it had been longer.
There is nothing to dis-like except it was a difficult place to find, do NOT rely on sat-nav!!!
Lovely modern renovation in a medieval palazzo. Well sited for walking in Arezzo.
Firstly the apartment was one of the best that we have stayed in anywhere in the world- well located, a combination of medieval and modern architecture, well appointed and managed by the most delightful family. Stefano and Nicola were always available to help, were exceptionally kind and lovely people. Private secure parking was available and also the apartment had a spare room with a single bed. Arezzo is a brilliant Tuscan town and the accommodation is very affordable.
The location of Il Mezzanino in the historic centre of the beautiful town of Arezzo was perfect, although a little tricky to find. Secure private parking was included and much appreciated as we simply forgot about the car during our 3 day stay and walked around the lovely piazzas and streets. The ancient building was very special and the apartment, while thoughtfully designed with all conveniences, retains glimpses into its own history - with vaulted ceiling in the modern kitchen, stone ledges in the bathroom, a porch with an old wooden door and stone steps. The owners (brothers) were exceedingly helpful, responding quickly to emails, with advice and directions. We loved Arezzo and definitely would recommend it to people looking for a wonderful, but less touristy Tuscan town. Also we would recommend Il Mezzanino most highly.
This is NOT a "dislike" just an observation - Although this was not a problem for us as we did only a little cooking at the apartment, some additional kitchen utensils would be helpful for anyone staying a longer period and planning to do full meals. (For example, we could have used a small pan to heat milk for morning coffee.) That being said, we were told to ask for anything we needed, so I am sure that if the kitchen was being put to full use, the few additional items would be supplied.
Nice apartments with kitchen, wifi, parking if necessary-all you need. Directly in the old, nice town of Arezzo - nice flair.
