The room felt clean (though its hard to tell with the spotted floors) and the bathroom was in great condition. The breakfast was a nice spread of toasts, cereals, fruits, pastries etc. And it was great to have good coffee in a hotel for once!!

Friendly and helpful staff. We liked the arty feel of the hotel. Superb breakfast and also had coffee in room which is hard to find in Italian hotels. Great location, but can be hard to find if you are a 1st time visitor to Venice...We will return to this hotel when visiting Venice again.

Room was all one really with a glass divide
The room is very beautiful and clean
The wifi never functioned and when I asked for this problem to receptionist he told me that couldn't fix it.
Friendly and helpful staff. We liked the arty feel of the hotel. Superb breakfast and also had coffee in room which is hard to find in Italian hotels. Great location, but can be hard to find if you are a 1st time visitor to Venice...We will return to this hotel when visiting Venice again.
Wifi is very slow 56k connection...even hard just to download email, really not up to scratch compared to the rest of facilities.
Fantastic location, easy to walk around. Nice staffs, very patient and friendly smile. The breakfast is sooooo yummy!
Poor wifi
A very nice breakfast delivered to our room. Location was centrally located in Venice - easy to catch the vaparettos and a 5 minute walk to San Marcos Square.
We were bumped from this hotel two days before arrival because of a "computer glitch" that overbooked the hotel. We accepted their offer to stay at a sister location nearby. The directions they provided were totally off, and when we finally found the Diamante e Smeraldo, they had provided an incomplete access code so we could not enter (they did not have staff on site, unbeknownst to us). After carting our luggage 20 minutes to the original hotel, we were met by the rudest service worker I've ever encountered who seemed to take pleasure in arguing with us rather than trying to resolve the issue.
Great spot, nice and confortable rooms, the breakfast is variable and very good. The decoration of the hotel is nice.
Centrally located. Quite rooms. Venetian decor. Large bathroom. Staff was very nice.
Wifi was confusing to connect. Stairs where dark.
Hotel was conveniently located & although located on a square it's very quiet at night so you can guarantee yourself a good nights sleep. Staff were helpful. Facilities in the room were basic but everything you need.
Only negative was the Wi-Fi. Although it was available we had problems connecting.
great location comfortable room good inclusive breakfast
very damp/moist & dark bizarre shower system where water leaked all over the bathroom floor without any drain available
Fantastic location, price, service, breakfast...the whole experience was incredible and we ill definitely return to Il Nido if we return to Venice
There was a problem with our shower flooding the wet room however it was nothing a few towels on the floor couldn't solve!
Great location for exploring Venice
Avoid 'Mirror' Room - Grotty room & bed with hollow walls and some sort of noisy mechanical device cutting in & out every few minutes all night long (very little sleep). Realise that getting cheap price also includes getting cheapest room, would advise paying a bit more for better room/hotel.
The room felt clean (though its hard to tell with the spotted floors) and the bathroom was in great condition. The breakfast was a nice spread of toasts, cereals, fruits, pastries etc. And it was great to have good coffee in a hotel for once!!
The AC did not work in our room, which meant we were sleeping with windows open to an unkept courtyard and hourly mosquito bites. For luggage holds after you check out, they instructed us to leave our bags (computer, ipad and all!) NEXT TO THE LOBBY DOOR and promised us nothing would happen. While nothing did, it was a terribly system and did not offer us any sense of security while we were spending the day in the city.
Nice cosy place. Friendly and kind of home. Also very good cafe/restaurant just outside.
The location is good, easy to walk around. Breakfast was fairly good.
I was kicked off the wifi every now and then. Every time had to enter the password to log back in. The shower door is broken it looms like can't be fixed except to get a new shower set. The above was still ok for me as I didn't choose a prestigious hotel. Some staff was nice and some was not.
The Location
Our room was described as a superior double but it was far from that. It was in fact a room for a disabled person. on our first night we didn't even have pillowcases on the only two pillows, but an unironed cloth wrapped round stained pillows. We were told that the pillowcases had not been returned from laundry. When asked for extra pillows we were given them on the last night of our 5 night stay. Curtains hanging off the rails, toilet and shower for disabled and no shower curtain even though there were hooks.
clean room, great location
rude staffs. wifi did not work in the room (pink rm), told front desk did not do anything about it. safe didnt open, told front desk ut also did not do anything.
The location is great, just a few minutes from the Rialto market and bridge and a 10 minute walk from St.Mark's square but still really quiet. The staff were really friendly and helpful too.
The location was easy to walk to from Rialto Mercato or san Stae vaporetto. The Breakfast buffet was quite good. The room was well equipped with modern fittings.and the bed was comfortable. The staff were quite friendly and helpful.
Our safe did not work but I expect that the new owners will fix this soon. Our shower was set up for disabled people which meant that water splashed all over the floor. That was a little nuisance only.
Situation Freindly staff
Very hard to find even with instructios from owners Mirror room - no drawer space and only hanging for 6 or 7 items No chairs and no headbord so nothing to rest against Bed is situated in recess of mirror wall = could be quite dangerous if moving into recess and rising quickly
Nice and small hotel in the center of Venice, not so far from the Rialto Bridge. Friendly and very helpful personel. Clean room and bathroom. Quite area without noisy tourists.
Poor breakfast without variation. Ask 5 EUR more and serve some fruit and a few extra bread rolls. Serve normal croissants without filling (suppose they were filled with some abricot jam).
Lovely room, great staff, had a few problems with the Wi-Fi but that was sorted out with a simple router restart. Simple but nice breakfast and the location was very central
The only real difficulty was that we arrived with a lot of luggage and didn't receive any directions to the hotel. So, the route we used had a lot of bridges with stairs which made carrying the luggage a bit of a pain. Perhaps a map with the best route to the hotel could be provided to guests. When we arrived at the hotel we were shown a route which had only one bridge and which made things a LOT easier
Location
Check in was officially planned for 3pm but not possible before 5pm. Breakfast should have been open until 10am but everything was finished at 9.30am. We got a room that would usually not be rented to clients but due to overbooking on weekend of May 1 there was nothing else available... All in all, very unsatisfying experience!
