Lovely location, quiet and close to Siena! Marco was a great host too, very friendly.
Kitchen had no oven or microwave
Beautiful property and excellent location. Beautifully styled throughout, furniture, fittings and all! Massimo and Marco are very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. Gave us great advice and suggestions as to where to visit and what to see etc. Great location for day trips to Florence, Sienna, Montepulciano, Pienza, Chianti etc. Relaxing afternoon's on the property enjoying some local wine and food. My partner and I bought ingredients and cooked every evening here, as its Just a 5 minute drive to an excellent supermarket/deli, with an amazing selection of just about anything and everything produced either locally or from neighbouring regions. And literally a 2-3 minute drive to the car park/bus into the centre of Sienna. Which takes around ten minutes.
Quiet rural Italian spot which is a get away from noise and city life yet a close drive to the center of Siena. We had our own "cabin" which was adacuate, peaceful, romantic.
Not much help from the staff as they're rarely there you're on your own. Very difficult to find, up a long dirty and windy road. But once there it is fabulous. A car is a necessity.
Tranquil, visually beautiful, quiet and what you would expect in the Tuscan hills.
10 min walk to bus stop, didn't worry us though.
The cottage with a great kitchen allowed us to do breakfast and dinners with ease. The pool and loungers were great to relax after a long Tuscan day walking the streets of Siena.
Didn't fully understand the no car rule up at the ancient city. We received a heavy fine even though we thought we were legally parked.
Stayed in Lemonaia apartment (right next to pool) found it great. Kitchen & living area very functional, plus outdoor table & chairs - screened from other pool users. Great views & great pool area. Separate wash basin room & shower/toilet area. New washing machine in shared laundry. Very handy to Siena town, supermarkets, atm's, etc. by car.
Main bedroom tight fit at side of bed but OK. Lots room at foot of bed & large wardrobe storage with large drawer. Could easily fit cases under bed. Need small bedside tables - currently just have inadequate vase stand - with little room to even put your glasses or watch - let alone a book or wallet. Only small issues- otherwise very comfortable stay.
Surrounding gardens, pool and stunning views Beautiful villa Peace and tranquility Ultimate Tuscan experience
Beds little uncomfortable
What a beautiful location overlooking Siena and over the fields! There were lots of lovely places to sit and chill. Swimming pool great and everywhere clean and manicured. We especially loved the clean, laundered bedding and towels. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay here, couldn't have asked for better, beautifully kept property with an awesome pool . Easy access to Siena via free car park & shuttle bus nearby. Great facilities including laundry room available. Were sad to leave. Marcimus was very hospitable.
Was hard to locate on the first night. Not signposted from main road. Same road as LPG station so look out for that.
Wonderful views, lovely garden, large pool, lovely cool apartment with veranda and plenty of outdoor space, easy travel to Siena and access to main road for local sights etc. Owners on site but discrete, very friendly and with excellent English.
Il Palazzetto is at the end of a fairly long unfinished road, which means it is beautifully "in the country", but requires a car to go anywhere - this was not a problem for us, but is good to know in advance.
Close to Siena, nice apartment with everything we needed. Laundry facilities and pool were wonderful. Quiet, pastoral, relaxing. Marco was helpful and accommodating.
Limited staff presence on property. Limited supplies (i.e. toilet paper, dishtowels, bath towels, etc.)
Location great for Siena. Owner was very friendly and helpful with local information. Accommodation was lovely, good access to pool, parking and laundry. Lovely views.
Nothing, it was great.
Beautiful setting, peaceful with great view of siena. Quaint and charming. Beds in 2 nd bedroom- 2 twins were very comfy. Lovely pool area. Close to drive into town. Owners very friendly. Great value.
Stayed in Margarita apartment. Shower head was broken and barely functional. Bring your own toilet paper. You only get one roll. Bed in master was terribly uncomfortable/ old. No air conditioning. Highway noise.
Stunning views Comfortable and spacious Well equipped Quiet
Absolutely wonderful place...our apartment (the Rosa) was perfect. Décor is absolutely charming and it didn't lack for anything. Comfortable beds...spacious...very nice living room/dining/kitchen. I LOVE Italian windows---there is something special about waking up in absolute darkness and flinging the shutters open to let in the sunshine! The views are amazing. The pool is large and beautiful... much nicer than I thought from the pictures. This would be a great place for kids...there are 2 apartments that are each in their own building, and there is LOTS of outdoor area for kids to play. I can't say enough about the kindness of our hosts...this property has been in their family since the 1700s and their love for the area is contagious. The locations is great...once you master the access road and understand where you are, it's a very short drive to grocery stores, gas stations, and most importantly, to the walled city of Siena.
Hmmm...I can find precious little to complain about. Finding the place for the first time was a bit confusing and the access road can be a little daunting (narrow and gravel in places, but it's generally well maintained). That said, the beauty and comfort of Il Palazzetto absolutely makes up for ANY "inconvenience" in getting there. The one thing that I would say by way of information is that if you are using a GPS, it for some reason might send you a back way as ours did (I guess it's maybe shorter?). At the bottom of this road (this place is UP, which accounts for the gorgeous views of Sienna and surrounding countryside) there are several signs that very clearly say "PRIVATE ROAD! No trespassing!" so it's somewhat intimidating (we were very sure that the GPS had it wrong). Several tries later we found ourselves in exactly the same spot and decided to brave the drive and hope we weren't met by big, mean dogs---or worse yet, an angry Italian! It turned out that this was NOT the primary access road, although it was perfectly fine and half-way up did turn onto the main drive. I did suggest to the owner that they post more signs, which he said would be done. PLEASE don't let this deter you from staying at this absolutely beautiful place...if we ever get back, we wouldn't think of going anywhere else...
Relatively close to (driving) old town of Siena. Lovely country setting, nice outdoor gazebo areas, beautiful pool.
Not a good value for the money. Ours was a small one bedroom, stand alone housekeeping cabin. No breakfast, no maid service, no supplies like salt, sugar, oil, etc in the kitchen. Were asked to haul out our own garbage. This was the most expensive place we have stayed at, and it offered the least. Had it been priced accordingly, we would have rated it higher.
Convenient for Siena. Nice view.
Proximity to motorway made it noisy. All appartments described as spacious, this is untrue, ours, Lemonaia was tiny. Only space for bed and wardrobe in bedroom, had to keep cothes in case under the bed.
The place was completely adorable with a wonderful view over the beautiful Tuscan landscape. The house with its apartments is close to Siena but still with quiet surroundings. I have read other comments about the road to arrive to Il Palazzetto, but it seems as if it has been repaired so there is no problem at all getting to the house. The staff is very helpful and I am happy to recommend the place to both families or couples who want to visit Tuscany/Siena. I will certainly return to this fantastic place.
warm hospitality, fantastic old house complex.
to reach first time, really a mass, very complicated location
Location and the garden is wonderful. Building is nice. Staff is helpful, speaks well English.
There was no breakfast option at all. Some of the furnitures would be better to change (eg. coach). Siena can be reached only by car, road is terrible.
Character property. Good location near to Siena.
Difficult approach to property via long unmade road .
Lovely location very tranquil & just what you would expect from a farmhouse in Tuscany would definitely stay again.
The road is nothing more than a dirt track which was quite narrow the owner told us they had just had 2 days of rain so the road was worse than normal, the farmhouse was not very clean we did go off peak & i got the impression that the place had probably been locked up after the high season & not cleaned properly.
