Theresa was a wonderful and gracious host and a delight to talk with. She gave us a bottle of the wine that she made to sample as well as a homegrown apples and figs. This is a beautiful farm/vineyard with amazing views of Montepulciano. It is a very short drive into town. The guest house is charming with coffee and some light breakfast items provided. I only regret we could not stay longer.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
The location is unbeatable. The views of the town of Montepulciano were unparalleled. The host is wonderful and we would come back in an instant. The suites are vary spacious and they have everything we'd need!
There was a small mixup at checkin where a couple came earlier in the day and took our room, but it was all cleared up later on. Not a big deal but it did take a few hours out of our day dealing with it. It was a one-off incident and a complete fluke so we don't blame Theresa for it at all. Just bad luck on everyone's part. She dealt with it and was extremely helpful throughout the whole process.
We had a beautiful room in this pretty Tuscan villa, just below the hill town of Montepulciano. The description of the accommodation listed 'No breakfast included, however the room is stocked with cereal, bread, tostini, a coffee maker and espresso machine, nutella and locally made jam. The owner even gave us a complimentary bottle of her own wine. You can either drive into the centre of Montepulciano, or take a scenic 25 minute walk in (recommended). We loved our stay here and wished we had booked for longer!
Me and my husband stayed in Il Palazzo dei Diavoli in August and we highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, we stayed in the hotel just for a one night and we would love to stay longer as this place is amazing. The owner is a lovely person and the room we stayed in was very nice. We'll definitely come back to Il Palazzo dei Diavoli and next time stay at least for a week.
We liked everything!!!
Very helpful stuff.
Friendliness of staff, great stuff for breakfast, great views, very tranquil and very close to Montepulciano
Everything was OK
Il Palazzo dei Diavoli is a spot which impresses from the first moment you get there. You get out of the car, look around and you know that’s been a great choice, a quintessence of what you’ve been looking for along your journey through Tuscany and Italy. The uninterrupted views are breathtaking, all four directions. As seasoned Italy’s explorers we were looking for a central point for day trips in the area, and this location didn’t disappoint, well, we knew this upfront and that was basically our guidance to stay there. The lodging we had itself deserves a prize - a nice setting that gives you a return, especially in the morning when you open the shutters and all the surrounding just flows in to get to welcome you there. The pictures do not lie. Last but not least, the Landlady has been great ;-)
Overall is perfect
Theresa was kind, freindly, and helpfull. We were late arriving, didn't have GPS, and our map was useless. So we called, and she drove into town and guided us in. Beautiful farm/vineyard setting (we are from Sonoma County, so we are good judges of such environs) with a great view of Montepulciano especially after dark under the full moon. Breakfast was not included, but she provided cereal, milk, biscuits, her organic preserves (apricot and plum), espresso and tea in the room. There was a small refrigerator and espresso machine in the room. We wished we had spent more than one night there. We will certainly return!
Excellent welcome from owner, very kind, nice explanation of the place and surroundings. Nice views and excellent breakfast (in-room only). A pity to leave!
The unpaved road and lack of signs to get there. A bit far from town.
Well located, close to Montepulciano, with a beautiful view on the village and the landscape. Teresa was very friendly and helpful.. The garden was beautiful, the house well equipped, it was a great place to stay !
we stayed at Il Palazzo dei Diavoli for 4 nights in June 2104, Wow! what a superb find. Teresa was extremely welcoming and gave us lots of local tips and information of places to visit and eat. She produces both wine and olive oil on her farm and we were given a fabulous bottle of red organic wine from her farm. It had a stunning taste and was comparable if not better than lots of the larger producers. We stayed in the B&B room, this was lovely and large and we had our own entrance which made it great for privacy. We had our own garden area too. The bed was so comfy and we had some amazing nights sleep. We would definitely stay again and we highly recommend this place.
It was just a minute by car from the walled city, but it was quiet and it was beautiful, so we had the best of both worlds. Teresa was a wonderful host and gave us good advice about all the surrounding villages that we could visit by car. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. There are even free laundry facilities which is a rarity. We are still in Europe as I write this and we are still saying that this was our favourite place in Italy.
If you don't have a car you are faced with a long walk (or a short taxi ride) and I'm not sure that there are taxis in Montepulciano. That is the only negative thing that I can think of for this hotel.
