Location in front of water rooms are renovated and clean
Price: not worth the premium. You can find better hotels for that price. Bed: we asked for a double bed, ended up on 2 single in a nearly empty hotel. Mattress is rough and not comfortable. Breakfast: catastrophic. Really, cannot count on it. All they have is bread, and a little bit of cornflakes leftovers that were humid.. When we asked for cheese they gave us 3 tiny slices. Shouldn't have bothered bringing them..we're not begging for food. Late checkout: not acceptable even though hotel was 80% empty.
Great view of the lake. Breakfast was good and the people running it was friendly.
Bed was extremely hard..
I hat two wonderful days in this since more than 30 years family run location with a marvellous view from bed and balcony all over Lago Maggiore. The Chief and his son are First class cooks. I will come back in springtime. Carsten from hamburg /Germany
Location is perfect, if you look for peace and quiet. View from the rooms is breath taking.
restaurant is a bit 'too much' but the food is excellent ...
The location is superb and offers wonderful views of the lake. Parking, breakfast and all other amenities were included without the need to add them as extras. For once, the place we went to looked exactly like on the photos that were provided to Booking.com. Often we find that places are shown as much prettier than they really are on the site, meaning that when you get there you have a string of nasty surprises but here we got what we saw and we got what we expected. That is refreshing and makes the trip really pleasant. There were alterations being done but the staff was very kind in making sure we were no inconvenienced in any way. We will definitely visit again.
An English channel on the TV would be a nice addition but I think there was just an issue with Sky not working. Also, the outside light on the balcony cannot be switched off in any way. the view at night is magnificent and we wanted to leave the curtains open but it is pretty much impossible with the light always on....just a suggestion...kill the auto on and off light which only switches off around 2400. The rest is great.
The room directly above the water with the fantastic view across the lake & the friendliness of the landlady. Would like to come back and visit the restaurant. The breakfast is a very good Italian standard for which there is nothing to complain about
No good possibility to go for a swim in the lake. A ladder at the end of the pontoon would be perfect
What a view
The balcony from the room looked out directly over the lake and the view was stunning. The hotel is situated just a short walk from the centre of Laveno though the walk is a little dangerous along a fairly busy road. We had a decent meal in the restaurant though a bit expensive.
Our bedroom was rather tired and needed updating. To be fair it looked as though other rooms had already been refurbished and we may have had the last one available. There is some ongoing building work going on but we weren't affected by any noise.
we had a modern room with a great view from the balcony and a good shower
our friends had an old fashioned room with old bathroom and they were right next door, restaurant menu was too fancy and expensive for the venue and chef not up to it hence the lack of guests eating there, should of kept the food traditional italian and reasonably priced
Location over the lake was great and the rooms and facility was very very clean.
You could not get coffee early and no coffee pot in room to make yourself. Also, no elevators and beds are rock hard.
The hotel is right on the lake and you can eat on the terrace above the it. The restaurant food is fantastic in both the brasserie and gourmet section. The son worked with Joël Robuchon in Paris. His mother is charming. The rooms have a balcony above the lake and they are just finishing renovating all of them.
I don't want to put anything negative as the lady and her son were so nice and friendly to me but I have to agree with other people's comments about the patron.
stunning view, the deluxe rooms are very very nice indeed. The hotel is currently under renovation, so it is to be expected that all rooms will be as nice as the deluxe rooms.
breakfast really poor.
A very different location built right on the edge of the lake, the lady that looked after us was very charming and added to the stay. The waterside bar/restaurant was great.
The conversion work was not yet finished so there was work being done, it didn't affect us but we'd love to see the place when it is finished in the next few weeks. I suppose we'll have to go back.
Views are truly among the best on the Lake. The lady of the house is wonderful. Coffee is great. Wish we had the chance to dine in the pretty restaurant. Nice room, updated.
Transition - improvements in progress. Look forward to visiting the upgraded result. Italian beds! - like most places in Italy - prison beds, or perhaps even harder. Sorry but its a personal comfort I can't rest with.
The view from the room directly at the Lago Maggiore is wonderful. Quiet and nice place. Room is renovated and really good.
Breakfast is "basic only"
