Staff was helpful. It is a good place if you plan a lot of sightseeing and come to the hotel in the evening. The hotel is quite far from the city centre but the bus stop is really very close and the buses run quite often. If you travel from Fiumicino airport it is best to take FR1 train (not Leonardo express) to Trastevere station (20 minutes) and than bus H to Bravetta/Guidi stop.

There is a bus stop nearby 1. The hotel is remote. The bus line H can take you there from termini station for about 50 mins. 2. I don't think our room is part of the original building: it's on the top floor, wooden(while the main body of the building is made of stone and brick); no window in the room except for 3 "holes" letting in some fresh air and light; stairs to the room narrow and steep. 3. The building itself doesn't look like a 10th century one. 4. Worst hotel for our 20 days trip around Europe.

This is a very comfortable hotel. clean and tidy. The staffs are kind and friendly. The room is small but cute :) If you stay for more than 3 night, I recommend here. By bus, about 20 min to Vatican City and about 1 hour to Termini.

The chocolate couissants that were sometimes available for breakfast and the local resturaunt about two blocks away that served great italian food. The staff were responsive to our requests but seemed indifferent or slightly annoyed at having to deal with us. Our room on the ground floor had a walkway between buildings right outside of our room. Between the staff talking in the walkway, in the halls, and the movements and conversations of the other guests, the place was failry noisy. We had to wear ear plugs to get enough sleep.

I liked the owner which is very gentle and welcoming. You can get breakfast any time if you are living the hotel before the breakfast our and it was good. Really far from the airport fco I just needed one night sleep and all the saving from the hotel I spent in 100 euros on taxi!!!! Besides everything there is by wood with a lot of small stairs and no elevator for one night sleep. In the roof the window did not close everything and there was a hole in the floor.

Preprostost in korektnost osebja Samopostrežni zajtrk (lahko bi si omislili tudi kakšno dugo kombinacijo...ponudba je bila namreč relativno preprosta)

It's located right off the bus routes for lines that will take you directly to Vatican City, the heart of Rome, and to the train station. It's also not to far if you want to walk, and there's a beautiful park within twenty minutes walk. There's also plenty of restaurants and markets in less than a 10 minute walk. The staff are super nice and willing to answer any questions. The breakfast is a good way to start the morning, with unlimited cappuccino and plenty of fresh pastries, yogurt, and granola. If you're travelling Rome on a budget with a small group (I went with one other friend) this place is perfect.

Information given by staff about public transport and main touristic attractions, also helpful with request for room change (see dislikes). For the first night we have been given extremely small room where almost everything seemed to be broken (bed, wardrobe, shower, washbasin tap...) and I would not bet on the cleanliness also. I requested room change and was promised to get different room after first night. The second room was absolutely OK - I really do not understand why they have such rooms of such different quality. Breakfast is served in extremely small place, but otherwise the choice was quite sufficient.

The Hotel was very clean, the rooms were of a good size and were very well furnished. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. The wi-fi was password protected, making it a bit of a pain to use.

The hotel is located right next to the "h" bus line with service to Trastevere and central Rome, and to the "889" bus with service to the metro line (about 10 minutes to Cornelia station). The "h" bus runs frequently, and it takes only about 35-40 minutes from Termini late in the evening to get back to the hotel (at other times, it's longer). The hotel will be more accessible when the "a" subway line construction ends in spring 2012 (the subway right now unfortunately stops running at 21:00 except on Saturdays). One member of the hotel staff was particularly very helpful (providing information on bus routes and tourist activities on the map). The cleaning staff was consistently terrific and helpful. The less expensive shared bathroom rooms are in an attic area, where you can stand up only in part of the room. These attic rooms can also be a bit noisy. I would have also liked to have had a few more amenities in the bathroom (shampoo, for instance, was not provided). It would have also been nice to have had fresh fruit as an option during the breakfast. I found the pastries provided to be too sweet.

A good location just outside central Rome, an easy bus ride away from the centre. Room was very spacious, immaculate and comfortable very unfriendly staff, clearly had no interest in the guests, however this did nt really impinge on our stay

The breakfast was good, varied and generous, and kept us going till almost dinner time. The rooms were basic but very clean. The neighbourhood was safe, the hotel close to the bus stand, so we felt completely at home walking back in the night. The rooms were turned over daily with fresh linen and towels. We were also given a key to the gate in case we returned late. You can reach it from Termini on a single bus, and we bought the “Roma Pass” which allowed us unlimited use of the bus. The hotel is excellent value for money and we would certainly stay there again. The place was hard to find the first time we went there, especially as tourists who don’t speak the language. It is some distance from the city centre (but this wasn’t a major issue for us since we had anyway planned to spend the whole day in the city). It would have been nice if they had tea/coffee in the room. The shower was a little impractical (small, shower head sprayed sideways instead of downwards, and there was no place to keep the soap).

The hotel was with in 20min bus ride of Rome centre, the bus stop was very close to hotel. Staff friendly and helpful the room was not large but ok and the shower/toilet was clean also I was able to park my car in the drive for a small fee which is very useful as limited parking on the streets.

If you don't like the hustle and bustle of a city centre, it's a quiet nice neighbourhood, close to a bus stop. However, there is no metro or train station in vicinity. The staff is helpful and supportive. The breakfast is from 7:30 till 9:30, but the assortment is not replenished, so get up early, if you're not willing to stay hungry.

The continental breakfast is very good and nutritious. The location is a bit far from the historic downtown, 40 minutes via bus and/or metro, but it was nice to stay in a relatively quite and quaint neighbor away from the overall craziness of Rome. The downtown is far.

The staff at this hotel were excellent. They advised us on bus routes and where to eat and not to eat, nothing was too much trouble. Recommend highly. Was a little hard to get up the staircase with the suitcases but all part of the charm.

A truly quaint bed and breakfast. Take the H bus from Roma Termini (the 2nd to last stop Guidi). Cross the street and before you even check in at the hotel go for a gelato on the corner!!! This was the beginning of a great stay at Hotel Casteletto. The owner is very pleasant. Helped configure my laptop to access the WiFi (be sure to ask him to de-configure those settings before you leave). The buffet breakfast was nice!!! More than just the standard cappuccino and croissant. Whilst the bus trip from the centre of town takes about 45 minutes the location is wonderful. Went to a super pizzeria just down the street. You have the feeling you are really experiencing Italy when you stay here. I'd definitely stay again. We stayed in the 4-person family room which came with a large queen sized bed and twin bunk beds. The bunk beds were rather uncomfortable. The mattress is far too thin. ... but that is really the only complaint I would have about this place...

“That's an incredible hotel. Everything was excellent. Very nice stuff of this hotel helped us with everything what we ever asked - was it map for any destination which we needed or tickets to football. Very good breakfast with plenty kinds of tasty food, I am a vegeterian and I had always wide choice. Nice area around hotel. We were by car but I saw a lot of buses and I think it's not a problem to reach all of city center points by public transport also. The room was good with big balcony. Highly recomended.” Anna, Berezovskiy |
