The Royal Continental is right on Naples' seafront promenade, in a quiet neighborhood. It features a stunning rooftop pool, with panoramic views out over the Bay of Naples and Castel dell'Ovo.

Only the location.
noise, bad smell, v small room
Great neighborhood for historical pursuits, dining shopping and fun street life!
Very helpful staff, great location, beautiful hotel
There are church bells which go off at 7am every day
Perfect and welcoming staff, nice terrace in the room, convenient location to travel, breakfest in the room.
Chaotic traffic in the neighborhood with lots of scooters and cars, no windows in the room with terrace. You can't see neither street or backyard from the terrace, only your own room.
The best rooms we had in our whole travel in Italy.
The internet was extremely slow, but I am sure the professional staff of the hotel will fix this soon.
Friendly staff, excellent location
the air conditioning needs updating
Great nearby restaurant recommendations. Very friendly staff. Safe neighborhood. Don't be intimidated ny initial impressions. A little far from Spaccanapoli but manageable.
Breakfast offered variety, but was on the mediocre side. We had to go elsewhere for decent coffee.
very nice staff, and loved the popular neighborhood still walking distance to everything. A place to keep in mind when going to Napoli
We had a suite with roof terrace and a quadruple room for kids of 13,11,11. This is a really seedy hotel with pokey rooms, knackered, cheap, nasty furniture. I have never been so bitterly disappointed in a hotel. Ever.
right in the heart of the city gritty life of Napoli awesome experience of city life grt location for restaurants and shopping
The hotel is just two blocks away from via Toledo (main shopping street), but you feel as though you are in a real Naples neighborhood. The locals are selling fish on the street, drying clothes on their balconies and flying through the very narrow streets on their motor scooters. If you want to experience the real Naples - but be a two minute walk to the main drag, il Convento's location is perfect. The staff speak English and are very helpful. We got a recommendation for dinner a few streets away; in a place tourists would never find. The major sites - such as the Archeological Museum that houses the Pompeii finds - is a quick walk up via Toledo.
This isn't a real negative...but the Spanish Quarter is a snarl of winding streets. We arrived at the ferry landing from Sorrento and decided to walk the short distance to the hotel. We should have called the hotel and I'm sure they would have given us clear directions. Instead, we tried to navigate on our own. In the end, a friendly older gentleman walked us a few blocks up via Toledo and pointed us up into the neighborhood where the hotel was. il Convento did send great directions from the airport and train station - we should have taken the initiative to ask about directions from the ferry landing - our fault. The staff was extremely helpful throughout our stay and would clearly have helped with directions. Once we arrived at the hotel, we couldn't believe how simple the trip from the ferry landing should have been. At most, it is a 10 minute walk, almost a straight line!
Helpful staff very friendly
It was a really great location. I felt quite safe as there was always people around. Easy walking distance to the shopping streets and the historical center. We had ferry to Sorrento on our last day and we just walked with our bags down to the Harbour. The room was nice, comfortable and quiet. We would definetly recommend this hotel, and stay there again.
The staff were extremely helpful, our room was beautifully clean with a great courtyard & our delicious breakfast was cheerfully delivered there - top marks all round
The location off the metro line was very convenient.
Noisy at night (moped horns and loud talking on the street level -- I used the provided ear plugs). Near a church that had loud bells at 7am and again at 7:30am.
Location is great..
Room to small, to dark, great location, and thats all it has going for it ... we ask at staff whare to eat, was sopose to be napoli food, but it was in ,and it was the most we paid for a meal in our two weeks,it just on the side road near hotel, dont go there, go to the harbour you can get a good meal for hafe the price..
It was easy to find from the Toledo bus station. It was clean, had a decent breakfast, and everyone was pleasant, both staff and guests. Nearby restaurants were authentic and reasonably priced. Overall, I'd stay here again.
Our front facing room was a bit noisy with the motor bikes racing up and down the alley. It didn't help that enthusiastic soccer fans had air horns in the streets either. Look both ways when taking a step out of the hotel.
The staff in the reception area were great help, and most of the breakfast staff were good; air-condition was wonderful!
Breakfast wasn't all that great. Could have used more of a variety.
Fantastic hotel situated in a great location. Staff were very helpful and helped us with restaurant recommendations. Rooms were of a good size, comfortable and clean. A great hotel to stay at while in Naples. Will definetly come back again.
Noise of the busy streets of Naples at night. Earplugs were provided but you get used to the sound after the second night.
A lovely little hotel very convenient from the metro. Enjoyed staying in a traditional italian neighbourhood with a fishmonger stall down the street and other local shopkeepers nearby. Air conditioning worked well and not much noise in our room that faced another alley. Church bells ring promptly at 7am which was not an issue as we wanted to get going on our sightseeing! Breakfast was a generous selection of meats, cheese, fresh tomatoes, sweet pastries, boiled egg slices and cereals. A fulsome breakfast offering compared to other places we've stayed in. Staff very helpful with directions and always on duty. Held our bags for part of the day as we needed to checkout, but didn't leave on the train until later. If you're looking for a real experience living among the locals, this is the hotel for you. Area is very safe with lots of shopping if you are interested in that.
Friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast buffet. True taste of Naples
Very central, super friendly staff, interesting architecture
Loved the neighbourhood, and the hotel and staff were great. Plan to return one day!
Friendliness of the staff
Room 12 was tiny and located on a noisy street
We had a wonderful stay, very friendly helpful staff. The breakfast Included was great, I loved the latte coffee made to order. I would definitely recommend Il Convento.
The only I downside is the noise from outside which "goes with the territory" when a a hotel is in the middle of a busy city.
