In a 16th-century building, Hotel Piazza Bellini is in Naples’ historic center, 330 yards from Museo Metro Station. The uniquely decorated rooms combine modern design and artistic elements.

We had to quickly find a hotel due to our flight being cancelled and chose Il Convento because we had stayed the previous week. A warm welcome and upgraded to a stay in the same Suite as before.
Lovely rooftop terrace off our room where we could sit in peace. We could have had breakfast out here but preferred to select from the buffet. Very friendly, helpful staff.
The noisy church bells! Out of the control of the hotel!!!
Bathroom and shower had black mildew mould around rim of washbowl and in shower area.
We Stayed in the junior suite, which has it's own terrace, for an affordable "luxury" splurge. They have an elevator, which is a find in Italy. Breakfast was great. The bed was very comfortable, AC worked. The bathroom was clean and also had a tub, another rare find in the country. The three reception clerks we spoke with were very friendly. The neighborhood is fun, lots of food and shops. Once we arrived from the train station, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely be coming back!
The hotel was great. It had a cottage feel. It used to be a convent which is definitely showcased in the architecture. You can definitely see a nun staying in the room previously. Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of selections. Two blocks away from Via Toldeo, a street full of shops and life.
The area was a little scary at first but the people are lovely. Be careful of scooters and cars flying by. The street is very narrow but it doesn't stop them from going fast and carefully! The shower in the room was very small and we had to get very creative when it came to bathing. There's a church bell that sounds at 7 a.m. So be aware.
Helpful staff. Convenient location.
Poor breakfast by today's standards. Convent bells in the morning plus street noise.
The people, staff were friendly and eager to assist. The location puts you within walking distance of much of the older city and numerous places for great local food.
Being in the old city with it's very narrow streets, made before cars, it can be a bit noisy at times, all that said had good sleep and very much enjoyed our stay, in fact re-booked 3 more days on our return leg to Naples
Location & staff.
What makes this hotel in Naples special is the staff, especially those at reception. Rooms are small and clean. The location is very good, even though in the Spanish Quarter. We appreciated the lift, as there are few to be found in some Italian hotels.
Position close to Via Toledo. Plenty of local restaurants to choose from close by. Rooftop terrace access from room. Great to be able to open the doors for natural light and fresh air. Staff were cheerful and very attentive and interested in assisting with our requirements.
What a GEM!!! Found this because the one I intended on booking was full (lucky me
Very noisy outside when only the shutters were closed...but the hotel provides ear plugs
Had a really nice stay at the hotel. The staff were always available and were very helpful, with excellent advice. Great breakfast.
Location is perfect, plenty of restaurants and sightseeing opportunities around. You are close to the main via Toledo but still feel in the heart of the city and can sample its atmosphere.
This hotel is reconstructed and decorated in a traditional neapolitan style, which I personaly liked a lot. My room and bathroom (36) were very comfortable indeed, with a large fauteuil, a desk, drawers and numerous electrical outlets. The location of the hotel is very spectacular. It is situated in the picturesque Spanish Quarters, build in the 17th century. Being there is like walking, not in a virtual, but in a very real reality of an intensified and updated Felliniesque movie, where streetnames are eloquently telling about misery and despair: Monte Cavalcario = Mountain of Suffering; Via Speranzella = Street with a Glimmer of Hope, to name a few. It’s by no means the only poverty stricken and overcrowded district in Napels (of which there are plenty), but certainly the one with the smallest streets imaginable. More authentic neapolitan than this cannot easily be found. Within a 5 minutes’ walk you are in the elegant and busy Via Toledo, (which has a brand new metropolitan station (linea 1)), and the harbor and Bay of Naples as well as the Centro Storico can easily be reached on foot. If I might come back to Napels, I certainly would consider returning to this hotel again.
The only problem was the (free) WIFI-connection: it was very unstable, (if there was any connection at all), and if there was a connection, then the internet was often very slow. Anyway, you couldn’t count on it. The safe is very small: impossible to store a laptop. The scooters over there make day and night a very irritating noise, so the hotel offers you earstops for free, (which in my case didn’t bear much result. You better use your own).
Good location to walk everywhere, a nice family room which accommodated the four of us easily
Obnoxious bells every am waking us up at 7 (not your regular pleasant bells) breakfast was just Ok when I thought it would be amazing based on hotel photos, TV did not work
Great location, friendly staff, good value for money.
Street noise could be a problem for some people although didn't bother us. Earplugs are provided.
Great staff Wonderful position Great value
The friendliness and helpfulness of the employees. The cheerfulness of the people serving breakfast. Even though the hotel is in noisy Spanish Quarter, the rooms are very quiet thanks to the very good windows and shutters. We really like the look of the room, it was comfortable and yet managed to retain the feel of the convent. The room and the whole hotel were spotless. Very good breakfast: cake, croissants, excellent local cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, eggs and very good bread. It was hard to not over eat. The coffee was very good too. Lovely breakfast room. Naples is not as chaotic as we expected -although we would not want to drive there It has many pedestrian streets and a beautiful and very long pedestrian avenue along the water. Capodimonte Park is absolutely beautiful. Train and metro run on time and very frequently. Even in the smallest store, someone spoke enough English that we could understand each other -unlike us (North Americans) who spoke barely two words of Italian.
Pillows were a little too hard for us
The location is central & within easy reach of everything. The various reception staff were friendly & helpful.
While the staff at reception were very friendly & helpful, it was very basic: more of a B & B than a hotel. Our main issue was the constant noise from the streets: scooters revving & horns blasting into the early hours, every night of our stay. Ironically, we had requested a quiet room, only to be told by one of the reception staff that ours was one of the quieter rooms & that this was why the hotel provides ear-plugs in every room, that 'some people complain, some don't'.
It is definitely worth the money to get one of the two rooms with a private terrace.
The bed was very firm.
The location was excellent, within 10 minutes walk of the Metro, shops, the historic centre and the ferries to the islands. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Their recommendations for nearby restaurants were always worth following up. We had a quiet room and slept very well every night. The infamous bells don't ring until after 7.00 and then not for very long.
Wifi in the room wasn't very reliable. A guest PC in a social area would be a good idea. The breakfast wasn't very imaginative. There was plenty of it, but the cooked option didn't look very appetising. Black mould around the basin in the bathroom was unattractive.
Quiet and comfortable until 7 AM church bells. Fair breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Early AM church bells
Within easy walking distance of Naples' major tourist attraction. Very friendly staff giving helpful advice. Clean rooms and a good breakfast.
Tiny rooms: "Il Convento" does not mean it is a place to stay when going to conventions, but that it was once a convent and the "rooms" are actually cells where nuns lived. Also, if you are the fearsome type, the area "quartieri spagnoli" might scare you a bit.
The location The staff The decore Plenty going on all the time The real Naples for those who want an experience
Location - noisy, chaotic, narrow streets. Felt like you were in the real part of Naples. Convenient for site seeing. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Not plush!
