Car park is in the garden: unpleasant walk with luggage in the grass and high up a number of stairs. Unfriendly staff. Didn't even feel welcome. No possibility of having meals outside: weren't even allowed to take outside the drink we paid for in the restaurant. Walk with umbrella in the rain climbing stairs to go to hotel restaurant is very annoying.
The location, the availability and the room care staff.
Restaurant is a disaster in layout and management. Like a factory canteen with poor food, poor choice, poor ambience and some very ill mannered staff. Some staff however were very good.
Breakfast,view and room.
First impressions were shock,the old lady on the reception told us there were no rooms available and didn't speak any English,fortunately someone came from the back and helped us.The spoken language here is German,and the hotel only really caters for Germans.The amount of steps from our room to the receiption,many older guests were struggling.the location was good,but to walk into town was impossible due to the steepness of the roads.biggest problem of all for myself was the internet.My decision to book this hotel was based on Internet in every room.However the internet did not work at all in the rooms and was unusable in the reception.Also the staff were very unhelpful to us and other guests blaming their devices,too many people in hotel and weather.I Really needed the Internet for business use,so my holiday was spoilt because of this twisting of the truth.Bought a bottle of wine with evening meal,(no carafe available)after our meal took it out on the terrace,10 steps away,and we're told it is not allowed we must leave it in the restaurant until the next day.would not recommend this hotel to British people,purely because of the staffs attitude towards anyone none German.
The room was lovely and very tastefully decorated, good size balcony. Nice views over the harbour from the hotel pool and bar.
If you do not have a car this hotel is quite a hike from the port and to make matters worse on arrival there are then many steep steps to the reception desk to check in. I am a reasonably fit 40ish year old and by the time I got to the desk was pretty flaked out bearing in mind the temperatures too as stayed in July. Quite a hike. Nothing much near the hotel other than the supermarket and a couple of other hotel restaurants. You really need to go into the main town. The pool area was very busy so no chance for any reaction as full of children. ( great for families but not couples or solo as I was) Breakfast is quite a good selection but very manic, too busy for me personally. Overpriced for what you get.
The View and proximity to the town. Lovely bathroom.
Size of rooms; view made up for it, however.
-very good breakfast; -nice swimming pool; -very positive, helpful and smiling cleaning lady (she was the only one);
I'm not a person who complains a lot but this hotel deserves it a lot. Reason? Here you are: -attitude of an old lady at the reception desk towards her clients (unnice & superficial): me:'please can I get a double bed which I booked in advance instead of two single ones'? answer: 'weird, usually Germans prefer single beds, not a double one'. First of all I'm not German, second-I underlined twice in my booking that I wish to have a double bed, third-poor Germans if in the age of 30-34, they'd rather take 2 sigle beds instead of 1 double one being married for 1,5 year; -we book a 4**** hotel and what we got was 3*** standards (it was written on the hotel's advertisements package left in our room); -climbing up the hill for 5min., to get to our mini appartment-and then again,down the hill to be able to have a breakfast in the hotel-in case of bad weather, it's absolutely rediculous and should be added into description of the hotel, the view was terrible, a huge bottom of the hill in front of our faces in a distance of 2m; -all speaking German, all written in German, just a few speaking Italian; -rooms equiped with a nice, small kitchen, just a pity that there is not even one plate, spoon or fork;
Excellent view! Wanderful service and place!
Location and views Very clean
Decor a bit dated
Liked the bar staff very polite and helpful
Did not like food was a bit boring
