Handy location to restaurants and town centre. One of the young female staff members was very helpful in giving us good places of interest to visit and handy hints. Advertised that WIFI was available but it wasn't on for the duration of our stay.

A delightful boutique hotel where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were helpful and responsive to our needs. It was in a most convenient location with a good concierge parking facility which is rare in Catania. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Il Principe to anyone who is thinking of visiting Catania.

Very convenient for the centre.room was large and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was shabby ,paint pealing off wall and sink leaking.there were damp patches on the ceiling by the door.breakfast was chaotic.items that ran out were slow to be replaced ,sometimes the items were not replaced at all !!also 4 star accomodation should have flat screen tv not old fashioned tv.

The staff was consistently pleasant and helpful (and attractive!) The breakfasts we're generous and fresh. Location, once you found it, could not be excelled for exploring Catania on foot. The Baroque center, the Duomo, the Roman theater, and the Fish Market are all just minutes away. Once we'd found it, it was just a 15 minute drive to the airport (we had to pick up travel companions on different flights.) But finding it the first time....our first Sicilian nightmare! No signals and no signs in this big city...get directions!!! Parking impossible. For 20 euros they parked our car on site and took good care of it.

I didn't have great expectations as I had... Not so great experiences in Rome or Venice, but I found incredible people (in the whole Sicily as well as a matter of fact...)!!!! The check-in was very fast and. The staff at the front desk are fantastic and very, very useful (hospitable, too). Each one of them was simply great, but my "weakness" was Simona!!!! The location is absolutely fantastic, too!!! Highly recommended!!!

It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. It's comfortable and spacious. It's also centrally located with good restaurants nearby. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us booked trips and taxi. I particulafrly liked the fresh fruits at breakfast. The free Wi Fi was a bonus - on the occasions when connectivity was limited the helpful lady at Reception gave me cable for connection. Above all it's great value for money!

A very good hotel, excellent location in the center of Catania (although a little bit difficult to get there, even the GPS was lost !). The rook was huge, almost a suite. The girls at the receptions were all extremely nice and helpful. My only window overlooked a courtyard where the air conditioner machine was located. It made a lot of noise, which is not very pleasant after a long hard working day. Maybe the owners could envisage some improvement in the soundproof system for their windows.

This was my second time at Il Principe, and I hope to return in February 2013 ! Television: when the weather is bad, visitors are trapped in their hotel, so to be able to access television in their own language is a great help. BBC World News or CNN is something, but the opportunity to access other programmes would be beneficial.

The room was comfortable and very clean. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and the service was superior and very attentive. The reception staff was very welcoming and helped us to arrange a tour to Siracusa with a local guide who was great. The location was very good for exploring the city.

The location was fantastic and easy to find on public transport. The staff were helpful. We had a nice lunch at the hotel but the breakfast was also lovely-though 1 day there wasnt much left and they only bought out a glass of orange juice instead of filling the jug. A biggie for someone who doesnt drink tea or coffee!! But all in all the saty was good but not that much to do in Catani itself.

Great staff, good location and very clean hotel. The only problem we had, was there was only one room with breakfast and the other two had to pay for breakfast. Don't know why.

Perfect location at the very heart of the city - and a very good price for that. My room was very quiet and comfortable. The staff speaks good English and immediately responds to all requests. I really recommend the place. I think that a four-star hotel must have an iron in each room. Bathroom fitting is a bit shabby (I mean E.G. the shower which drops down every time you try to put it in the holder, so you have to hold it all the time while washing). Finally, I don't quite understand why the heater, set at 26 degrees, has to go on every time you leave the room, and then has to be manually switched off when you come back. 26 is a bit hot for an average traveller, and actually when it's 19-21 degrees outside, you need neither heating nor cooling. It's such a waste! But as you see, these are all minor complaints which do not seriously affect the traveller's comfort.
