Naples Trains buses
Pool was ok but a distance from the rooms
Situation so near to such a busy road and away from centre. A taxi to the bus station was 35eur a journeyof 1 1/2 kms , when it had cost 80eur from Naples to the hotel! Nearest food shop a good distance away.
Pool area The garden
Everything was great. Helpful staff, great location, nice pool, and lovely breakfast in the garden.
Not too easy to find. Could do with a bigger sign.
Everything about Il Roseto itself is great but the location due to the busy and narrow road it is on, is a major drawback. Walking on the road as the footpath at times disappears is not a good experience. The walk to town centre although not far is not pleasant even if use the lanes and another busy road.
The room we had upstairs had a great view. The pool area is great.
Il roseto was perfect for a stay with friends for a wedding in Sorrento. The staff were very helpful & the pool is lovely.
Staff, price, personal service
Walk to town a good 15 minutes which can be tough in heat.
The pool an garden were an oasis in a very busy resort. Very relaxing around the lovely pool area. Breakfast was served in the garden which was a nice touch.
Didn't like the walk into the centre of Sorrento along a busy road. Although there is a local bus it was mostly quicker on foot because of the traffic.
staff so helpfull and attentive. breakfast served in the garden surrounded by lemon trees and grape vines.
The quiet once we left the street; breakfast under the lemon trees; proximity to Centre of Sorrento... 15 minute walk. Pool and relaxation area. Guide books and novels avail;able.
Unreliability of buses. The narrow footpath when traffic was heavy... ok provided you walked single file.
I was there last May with couple of friend. our room was clean. a very nice outdoor swimming pool was located next to the garden. they served breakfast in their beautiful garden, we loved it. i liked also the bath and even took some picture of that. it was a very italian style toilet. :) the hotel is located in a busy street but don't worry when you go inside you find a very relaxing place.
Loved the garden and to have the breakfast there. The freshly squeezed orange juiced - mad by the owner- is insuperable It was a really relaxing and comfortable stay
We found it a bit expensive
Lovely friendly atmosphere with clean and comfortable room, gorgeous pool and breakfast areas and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideally located, very reasonably priced and would return.
Clean family run hotel with nice swimming pool. One of the best breakfasts we had in Italy and nice to dine outside in the garden. Bed was comfortable, air con was fine and mini bar useful and not over priced.
A little too far from the town centre and no real opportunity to use buses as they seemed to run infrequently and not to schedule. A lot of traffic heading into and out of town: using a taxi cost us between 10 to 25 euro depending on the flow. If you are a fit and healthy walker then no problem!
Best breakfast I had in Italy in the most beautiful garden - great pool - and lovely helpfull staff, Lovely place.
The b&b had beautiful gardens and a nice breakfast in the garden every morning. The pool was very nice, the staff we very friendly and relaxed and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of sorrento and the on site parking was ideal for us. Overall absolutely loved our time there and would definitely stay again if visiting sorrento.
We arrived as a party of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) on 20 May for the start of our 9 day stay. We were greeted by Maria, checked in quickly and shown to our room. We had a quadruple room with a double bed upstairs in the mezzanine (which our children quickly claimed) and my husband and I had the sofa bed downstairs. The room also had a small kitchenette which is a big plus and a good sized bathroom. The room is dark but when you open the shutters the sunlight floods in. We very often didn't open the shutters though, as it was a cool relief from the blazing sun. I read another review before this and can't believe what they've written, as our room was very clean and entirely satisfactory. Our friend's room, a standard double was also lovely and clean. The swimming pool is outstandingly clean and has the most beautiful view of the mountains. In fact the whole pool area (sunbeds, chairs, eating area) is so clean and tidy we were all really impressed. The bar down at the pool was serviced by Michael, a lovely, friendly man who made us all feel very welcome and relaxed. Breakfast is excellent. There is a very good selection to choose from; cereal, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, meats etc... and drink wise there is freshly squeezed, delicious orange juice, coffee, tea or hot chocolate (the latter being a big hit with our children). We got to meet the children of the family over the first week, which our two were delighted with, particularly our 6 year old daughter and ended up having Italian lessons from lovely little Maria (age 8). The walk into Sorrento is around 15 minutes, we didn't find this a problem and weren't surprised as we had already checked the map for its position. You DO have to be careful, as the roads are narrow and busy. Our first week was fantastic and our children had a fabulous time, unfortunately on the first day of the following week our daughter had an accident, which resulted in her spending 3 days in hospital.
Fantastic location, staff were excellent, views were great and thoroughly enjoyable 5 day break. The friendliness of all the guests in the B&B and the breakfast was superb to set you up to enjoy your day sightseeing and exploring the beautiful area.
Directions from Booking.com weren't exactly accurate once into Sorrento itself. Like Il Roseto's driveway leading to the B&B is immediately next to and shares it with The Girasole Hotel! There could have been more landmarks rather than road numbers and names.
The gardens could have been manicured a little better
The breakfast in the terrace garden was lovely and the room was very large and comfortable.
We were surprised that the owners were not as friendly as we had expected from the reviews. They didn't make us feel particularly welcome and we felt sometimes like we were imposing on them. There were a number of things they could have told us when we first arrived (like how to get in/out the front gate) which would have made our stay easier. It was our first stay in Sorrento and this hotel is a little out of town, so we were hoping for a more friendly/helpful reception.
Brand new cottage in the garden - close to town and train station. Good location for Naples, Pompeii and Cinque Terre. Amazing breakfast!!!!!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good parking.
Beautiful, friendly, safe B&B. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are cozy and equipped with everything you might need. Absolutely worth the cost and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in Sorrento.
It is about a 15-minute walk from the city center, but everything else about Il Roseto is so wonderful that I didn't mind.
