The Twentyone is a modern boutique hotel on Via Cola di Rienzo, one of Rome's best shopping streets. Castel Sant'Angelo and the historic center are just a pleasant 10-minute walk away.
Score from 1427 reviews Very good
Located just outside the Vatican walls, the Best Western Spring House is a 5-minute walk from Cipro-Musei Vaticani Metro Station. This modern hotel has elegant rooms and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

Cenci B&B is just 50 yards from Trevi Fountain and a 5 minute walk from Barberini Metro Station. Its designer rooms include free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom with chromotherapy.
Score from 245 reviews Excellent
Clean, good location, english speaking, size of room sufficient.
expected something different, its couple of rooms in building on flats, but well located close to Vatican and downtown
I didn't mind the modernist decor but some might find it a bit bright. I liked the way they wrote to me individually before arrival with advice about the visit. Nice firm bed, most hotel beds are far too soft.
I have never come across such a complicated safe to set up (including installing the batteries yourself amongst many steps!). I didn't bother in the end. The strange set-up without a frontage or sign and a heavy communal door may put some off. The instructions on how to reach the hotel were very misleading. I am taking this up separately with the management
- Other critics said that the B&B is difficult to find. Knowing that in advance and remembering the address solves that problem easily. - Further, it was criticised that one cannot sleep with open windows due to a busy street nearby. True. However, the windows are modern and tight, so that the noise is completely (!) gone when the windows are closed.
Great place to stay. The stuff is kind and very helpful. I will come back there for sure.
Some things especially in bathroom are a little bit worked out but it is normal in every popular hotel.
The staff is terrific. They were tremendous in helping us recover a luggage that the airline lost. We highly recommend this hotel. We will not hesitate going back the next time we go to Rome.
Excelent B&B. Really modern style, clean, safe. Good breakfast. Near the vatican city and lots of shops! Everything was more than right!! Thanks to Lucia (reception), who adviced us a lot.
Easy to park a car. Close to the main attrations in Roma. Close to the main shopping streets. B&B with airco/climatisation. Very good breakfast. B&B in a modern style. Nice people. B&B very clean. Wifi in the room with a tablet.
Nothing. Everything was great.
The woman who helped was awesome! She was there to meet us early in the morning, had breakfast ready. She called us cabs when needed, was very helpful. The room was very cute and clean. The location was great as we toured the Vatican the next morning and could walk.
The b&b is within a short walk to the metro, Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. It has been cleverly designed, transforming what appears to be 'just a city block' from the outside to a lovely fresh modern look inside. The breakfast is simple but all you need to keep you going for the day. I would definitely recommend this to others.
All was great except the wifi - staff were friendly and helpful. Inclusive breakfast was great.
The wifi was too slow but otherwise I would highly recommend this hotel.
The location was excellent - a short walk from Vatican city. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice of items. The room itself was light and airy and always cool after being out all day.
The location was great, in a lovely Rome apartment building. It took me a while to find the door intercom, but once inside, the hotel itself is wonderfully modern, cool and very well equipped, with a fridge and very quiet air conditioning in the room. Great views from the windows of everyday Rome life. Very comfy bed, and hardly any noise through the windows. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice of brioche, cakes, hams and cheese and a Nespresso cappuccino maker - great coffee! Last but definitely not least, the lady on reception was so nice, pleasant and helpful, which really took any possible stress out of the whole experience. There's secure parking nearby, though you can take your chances on the street outside too..! I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a stay in Rome.
Can't think of anything!
It is very contemporary and modern. Barbara is very nice. It is close to Vatican.
Everything was great. Room was very large, clean. The service and help of Domenico was excellent.
Breakfast could be somewhat better
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.
Difficult to find at first as there were no markings on the front door from the street. Had to call for directions.
My husband and I went stayed here for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. Massimo (the owner) met us at the door and showed us everything we needed to know about the place (where breakfast was, the safe, the wifi). Then he gave us a map of Rome, and circled where we were, where the big attractions were, and which metro stations to use. The room was clean and comfortable with a much bigger bathroom that anywhere else we stayed. The breakfast was great, and the location was great (walking distance to the metro, and the Vatican). The price was very reasonable, and we couldn't recommend it enough! Finally, when we were leaving too early to catch breakfast before getting to the train, massimo left a bag of snacks in our room so we wouldn't go hungry.
This isn't really a "dislike" so much as a tip. The hotel would have been hard to find on our own I think. I highly recommend paying for the driver from the airport to the hotel.
The team we're super friendly and very helpful. The rooms and dining room clean. It was everything you need to be comfortable...good bed, good shower, helpful people and great location for a great price.
It's housed in a building with other businesses and apartments so from the street, I wasn't sure if we we're at the correct address or not.
Everything was perfect! We were amazed by hospitality! Great benefits were Ipad in the room for free use and coffee machine in the kitchen to use any time of the day! Good location.
It would be better to point out the name on some outdoor sign to find faster.
They had put a Samsung tablet in the room for guests to use which was great when you wanted to look a location or site up
Nothing it was very good
Decor of room
Neon light in room
This is a great B&B, it has everything you could ask for. It is decorated to a high quality, and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast was faultless, plenty of pastries, hams and cheese, along with the usual cereals. The two staff we met Sandran and the man (sorry cant remember your name), were excellent hosts, and very helpful. The location is great for seeing all the sights, the Vatican is 10/15mins away. We got the train once the whole weekend we was there, and that was to the Coliseum, although we did walk back. Everything major is within walking distance if you dont mind to walk. It is easy to get to from the airport, we took a bus and train, there and back. Dont under estimate the Ice Cream place round the corner that has the outside seating...the ice creams are amazing!! We looked for a nice place all weekend and the final day we went there...make it your first stop! Then look for a better one...you wont find one for plates of ice cream! Make sure you use their tablet to book the tickets for the Vatican and the Coliseum, you wont want to queue, and it is minutes when you pre book. Well worth it, and a great idea to have this available in the room. Cant wait to go back, and when we do, we will definitly be staying here!! Thanks for some great memories!!
There is nothing not to like...an excellent place to stay.
we booked quadruple room for family with two children. Perfect location for Vatican City and other Rome sites, clean, friendly receptionist with helpful information, simply but good breakfast. Will book again for next time.
A Lovely b&b with an amazing service, tasty breakfast and just 10 min away from Vatican
Well maintained room with no need for a key made life very easy when coming back. The WiFi was blisteringly fast and there was an IPAD supplied in the room, though we did not use it as we had our own Laptop. Breakfasts were an extensive cold buffet though chocolate featured more often in the cakes and cereals than is normal for us. Fruit, toast, cold meats and cheese also available along with a coffee machine. The cakes that were left over could be had along with a cup of tea on your return in the afternoon.
The metro was just that bit too far away to be of use on several occasions. By the time you had walked in the wrong direction to get the tube you could have almost walked to your chosen destination in the right direction. The Vatican is an easy walk, do book ahead as the queues were ridiculous even in early April. The rooms had been modernised too much we felt and all the character of this old apartment block had been erased. Overall more clinically efficient than homely.
Sooo clean excellent continental breakfast
