The rooms that face the street a bit noisy
Traveling with luggage, it was a nice surprise to find the hotel across the street from the bus station. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. All the sites in Sienna are within easy walking distance. The breakfast was very good. A good value for the money.
Probably it is the best modern hotel in the city.
Facilities well maintained, breakfast was very good, service was very good
Room a bit small
Location, location, location! The NH Excelsior is only a two min walk form the city center, which makes the hotel the ideal base if you want to discover Siena and Tuscany. The Hotel itself is what you expect from a chain Hotel, the place is clean, staff are friendly and the breakfast is decent! Recommended!
Parking can be a problem
Good location, friendly staff.
Great central location near bus station with all key sights within 10 mins walk. Good breakfast spread with wide variety of choice. Air conditioning worked. Quiet comfortable rooms.
Dining room lacking in atmosphere & service
Location was excellent, close to public transportation. The breakfast served was very good. The Room was large with a bath tub. TV had many English language stations. Great stay I would highly recommend this location for the value.
Limited WIFi to one device / password.
Clean hotel, close to the centre just 3 minutes walk. Free wifi
Just outside of the zone traffic limitation and there is a car park nearby for free, just 10 minutes walk. Very good location.
Central location Breakfast buffet
No hotel parking Coach party hotel Poor wifi connection
A new modern hotel, very good location and excellent facilities and comfort
The location is perfect but a bit tricky if you drive. You have to drive into the limited traffic-zone and it is fairly hard to find the hotel. Lovely outdoor terrace on 2nd and 4th floors with breakfast facilities.
Tricky location if you drive as said. The hotel is old-fashioned but spacy.
The hotel is in a good spot to be slightly outside the city but still in walking distance of the city center. The hotel in very comfortable with nice rooms, a great breakfast and the staff is generally good.
When we arrived the first night of three, we noticed that the AC did not work well, the room was hot and never would properly cool. We informed the staff but in the three nights we stayed it never worked and only in the last night did they inform the guests there was an issue that could not be fiixed. They did not offer a discout on the room which I think would have been appropriate.
Great breakfast. Good location. Big and clean room.
Free internet is too slow.
All of it
It is a nh standard hotel. No extra luxury. It is ok to stay here and visit the town.
Had to park very far away even though it was free. We arrived for breakfast 20 min before the end and 10 min after the maître was telling us to pick what we wanted because they were going to start putting everything away! Very rude and not acceptable for this class of hotel! Our room had no hot water and the toilet was running.
A very nice hotel in the city center and a few seconds away from the central bus station. Very convenient. Nice spacious room and big bathroom.
Very expensive parking!!!
Location was superb given that we arrived in Siena by bus and this hotel is just across the street. It's a modern purpose built hotel and rooms were comfortable, reasonable size and clean. Our room was at the front and facing the square with the bus depot but noise was not a huge problem. Breakfast was included and quite reasonable, though a wider selection of hot food would be better. Nevertheless it was delicious and ample. Reception staff were helpful though not overly friendly, while the housekeeping staff always said hello.
Nothing really - this hotel does not have a restaurant so you have to go out to eat (other than breakfast) but this is not really a problem in Siena, there are many places to eat,
First class room bed comfort and decor
Location, room, breakfast, modern hotel
The receptionists were very unpleasant and rude. They didn't have any information regarding the town and location or services. It's seems like all the attention were kept to the wealthy guests only. It's ashame because the hotel is really well located and modern.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent food
The location is excellent and the breakfast - apart from poor coffee from a machine - was good. The superior rooms are quiet and have a good view - other reviews suggest that the basic rooms do not have either but the size and fitting-out of the "superior" room hardly warranted that description.
This is essentially a hotel catering for a mixture of business people and, at the time we were there, package tours. The front desk service was minimal - it's extraordinary that a 4 star hotel in Europe will only change US dollars and won't change sterling - and they had difficulty in understanding requests for additional blankets and laundery. The room maintenance was very poor. Shampoo etc was not replenished and the beds were not properly made-up. There were no spare blankets. There was a spare duvet but it was for a double bed whereas the room was twin-bedded and it had no cover. There was no offer of assistance with luggage and generally the impression was of a lack of interest in the guests. It felt very expensive compared with our other experiences in Italian hotels.
