NH Villa CarpegnaVia Pio IV 6, Aurelio, 00165 Rome (Show map) Good, Score from 107 reviews“On the outskirts of the city but within a 10 min walk there was a fantastic bus route, which for 11 euros for three days as a tourist was indeed very good value. The hotel was friendly, free carparking, and a wonderful breakfast. Prices for dinner or snacks were very expensive in the hotel but a short walk there were many cafes and fast food resturants”

Just outside Rome's Villa Doria Pamhilj, the NH Villa Carpegna offers free parking, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is in a quiet area, one mile from the Vatican. Villa Carpegna is a modern building with private garden. The restaurant serves national and international dishes, and snacks and cocktails are available at the piano bar. Breakfast is an American buffet. Rooms are classically furnished, and equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, and marble bathroom. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby, and the first 30 minutes are free. Bus 994 stops nearby and provides services to Baldo Degli Ubaldi Metro Station, on line A. Hotel Rooms: 201, Hotel Chain: NH Hoteles.

Nothing. This is not 4star hotel Pool is working from 10am till 7pm -right after breakfast which is till 10am and open during time for walking around Rome. So, forget about the pool! For the breakfast the hotel has no vegetable at all! No tomatoes, cucumbers, nothing! In Rome at the summer in 4star hotel no vegetable. Hotel is old enough and worn-out. Staff is trying to earn on exchanging the currencies on unlegal way. Rate for eur//usd 1,7? My room was fully prepaid - they took the money at check in(under my plan) but at check out(it was 4am) they kept me until I paid again(after I refused the payment through the bank) they threat me to call the police if I don't pay second time!? So, this is hotel for backpackers, hotel main business to welcome for 1day tourists of Royal Caribean before a cruise. This isn't nh!!!

We had an excellent experience! We accually stayed one extra day. Staff speaks good English, breakfast was very good, swimming pool clean and good size. Taxi from central Rome to the hotel at midnight cost 12 Euros, during the day 7-8. Will come back! The gym would not open with my card and the note says you need a doctor certificate to attend it- I didn't investigate further...

The swimming pool area was very nice except for the very stupid Italian rule about using bathing hat in the pool! The breakfast buffet was very good! Overall a very nice hotel, also used by Royal Caribbean Cruis line.

The breakfast was excellent, very good bathroom (with a bath, not just shower, and real shampoos etc.). Free wi-fi in the lobby. Big parking, almost empty (most people seem to arrive in tourist buses). Relatively close to Vatican (30 minutes by foot) and to a metro station (15 minutes, but beware of the metro renovation works!!!). There is no way to cut the ventilation in the room, which would switch on by itself from time to time and was a little noisy. Wi-fi in the lobby is limited to 30 minutes per day and you have to ask for a new password every day, which is kind of lame (although quite enough). Also, when you leave the hotel by foot, you have to pass in front of horrible garbage containers in the street just at the entrance.

We stayed at Villa Carpenga in July for a week so it was great to have a pool. The rooms, hotel and pool were very clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The staff were not very helpful and the hotel seemed under staffed. The location of hotel carpegna was poor as the area was very rundown and dirty. There was no where to eat locally in the evening other than the hotel which was a bit expensive. Taxis cost about 15 euros to take you into Rome. You can travel in on the bus for 1 euro but at times we had to wait an hour on a bus!! I booked our airport transfer through the hotel and it was 70 euros arriving and 55 euros when we were departing? Think the hotel just charge you what they fancy on the day!! The staff were not interested in serving you and could be very rude. You can't get a drink or a coffee after midnight and no kettles in room. Wouldn't stay here again.

“Exceptional value for money from a new (and still developing) 4-star hotel. The room was actually better than many 5 stars we've stayed, clean and ultra spacious. Loved the quiet, safe neighborhood, even though the Vatican was 20'-25' walk (we always took a cab, anyhow). Ample, safe parking, nice roof garden on top (to which you had to carry your coffee/drink from the bar in the basement). Friendly staff. Adequate breakfast. Would certainly stay again. Relatively easy access from Rome's outer ring (if travelling by car). ” Costa, Perea |

“This is a lovely hotel. The room was spotless and quite large. The foyer and reception area is very nice also the bar and restaurant. There is a nice undercover area outside and a small pool which is quite welcoming at the end of the day. I would definately go back to this hotel.” Lynda, Scarborough |
