great value for money, clean and good breakfast
The staff was very friendly and helped us as soon as we got in.
The property itself is very nice, however the area is pretty raw and sketchy. Also, the airport is only 2.3 miles away but it is not a straight shot. The streets are very confusing
Clean hotel with all necessary amenities. Staff worked hard to make our short stay comfortable as we were only getting ready to leave the country after a 5 week trip. They gifted us with a bottle of wine. Stepha gave great direction to the airport as we had a rented car. We were frustrated by the location and no restaurant on site, a lunch pizza was ordered in for us that was reasonable and excellent. A mediocre 3 course supper was made available for us for 29 euro. Hard to believe a cook actually prepared it, but Guiseppe was particularly sweet serving it up in style in the breakfast room and topped the evening off with gratis Lemoncello that was divine.
The hotel ad listed they had a restaurant and a shuttle and on that basis we booked it, learning on arrival neither was available. The cook was away il. And their shuttle was actually an arrangment with a cab company. Also, the location being a very rough looking neighbourhood we felt trapped so relied on staff to provide us with meals. The parking space was cramped and complicated for moving safely without damage. Scarps we noticed were expertly cleaned by an apologetic staff.
Very modern and fresh decor. Staff very helpful & friendly. This should be rated 4 star when you compare it to other hotels in the area. Spacious bedroom, super king size bed and well equipped large modern bathroom. Good choice buffet breakfast with great coffee. Free Wifi.
No English channels on the TV !
This is a very nice hotel for a short stay . very nice staff and clean
It's in a run down area of naples
Close to airport
Advertised as having a restaurant it was unavailable we had to have the hotel call and order out with the only choice of having pizza Napoli is not do safe to wonder out and find a restaurant
As a single woman travelling alone the hotel was wonderful and the staff more than helpful to make you feel safe and comfortable. Even tho most reports write it is a local area of town, they must have cleaned up the trash along the road to the hotel as it was actually one of the cleaner areas I drove through.
Would be nice to have spy hole windows on doors to see who is knocking with the pizza.
Excelent condition.....superb hotel...very good served... One more star from me....:))))
Nearness to airport and to the route we then needed the next day. The signs to the hotel were absolutely essential, just wish I had known about them and to look for them as we came out of the airport. We would not have found the hotel without these, please tell customers they are there, directions are very hard to follow when you are tired, do not know Napes, and it is dark!!
My only complaint was that the coffee machine wasn't working when we had breakfast, everything else was fine.
Nice to spend a night as a pitstop when traveling to or from AirPort, or when in town for business for 2-3 nights. Free WiFi, Nice breakfast, great price. wouldn't recommend it for a 7 day holiday
The hotel is very nice with all new utilities. Ratio price versus quality of hotel is best we had in Italy. Very helpful personal.
Lack of fruit for breakfast. Croissant too much cook. - The area is poor. We hear a little noise of the train near by at 6am.
Normal rooms, breakfast, private garage.
Hotel does not respond e-mails (concerning airport transfers in particular) Location bad... bus and tram stops and the train station are not actually so far but hard to find, first time almost impossible. (Very good choice if you come with a car using a navigation device. )
Lovely clean rooms friendly staff breakfast was ok
Bed was really uncomfortable The hotel is down a really horrible dirty beat up old road.....I'm glad I didn't arrive at night time. This meant there is nothing to do near to the hotel at night time.
the hotel itself is very modern and nice
but the surroundings are terrible (shabby industrial area)
Friendly staff good room , very clean and amazing price . Breakfast nothing special but adequate
the hotel itself was excellent, with breakfast available, but a shame no evening meals provided, staff very good, spotless room.
the location is extremely poor, dirty & smelly....didn't feel safe at all. A complete put off
The hotel was just fine. The rooms were comfortable, nice shower, good bed, etc. The staff was really kind and helped us well. The breakfast was not so good and the parking garage was a little overrated in our opinion. 15 Euro's a day is expensive, but the hotel realized very well that people won't park outside on the street (too dangerous).
The neighborhood is absolutely depressing. The hotel is located in some kind of industrial terrain, there is dirt on the streets, and it smells. It was horrible (and we are not over exaggerating). On the streets, also in Napoli, it was unsafe. The hotel was fine, but we won't recommend staying in Napoli at all.
We stayed at Hotel Joyfull and fell in love with the neighborhood families! In the evenings, a family down the street sells roasted corn for 1 euro. They set up right in front of a lovely grotto to the Virgin Mary. The first evening we purchased a few ears of corn for the children and immediately had friends (and their parents) for life. After this, the children (ages 6-12) or their parents would make it a point to wave or say hello. The hotel is at a dead end so there is almost no traffic. On the way to the hotel, there are the Stations of the Cross to your right. The hotel is extremely clean, has an excellent breakfast, and the service is wonderful! I also loved the quietness of the hotel and the neighborhood. The tram to the main station and metro is an easy couple blocks walk. If you stay on the tram to its termination, you find yourself at the port and the Nuevo Castle area. Additionally, there are several shops just down the street to purchase food, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. All the people in the area were extremely pleasant and helpful. FYI-- the typical non-tourist neighborhood streets in Naples are outrageously dirty with garbage lying around everywhere. Hence, on first impression, I was horrified. However, this appears to be the norm and does not make this area dangerous. Again, this is a family neighborhood and I felt very safe walking down this street at all hours of the day or night. I highly recommend this hotel for those folks that like to experience the culture of how the people of Naples really live. If you do stop by for an ear of corn, let them know that Mary and Corey from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA send their regards!
Garbage in the streets (normal for non-tourist neighborhoods across the entire city).
Very good quality rooms. Very calm. Excellent value for money.
The hotel and the entrance area were very clean, but the dirt in the street in the surrounding area was awful.
This hotel was super clean and cheap! It is a few blocks from the bus and tram which brings you to the main terminal and metro station. The tram ends at the marina port and Nuevo Castle. The service was excellent, the neighborhood very quiet, and the complimentary breakfast was above average. Best of all was the exposure to a real Italian family neighborhood! The families are extremely friendly and helpful and you get to see how Italian families really live. We stayed six days and got to know the little neighborhood boys (ages 6-12) and a few of the families. One family sells roasted corn for 1 euro each evening right down the street--you have to walk past it to get to the hotel. They set up right in front of a pretty grotto to the Virgin Mary. Also, as you walk down the street to the hotel, there are the 14 stations of the cross to be seen on your right. On the first evening, we ended up buying the kids standing there an ear of corn. We now had friends (and their parents) for life! Every time we were coming or going from the tram stop, the boys and some of the families would come out to say hello or wave (no begging). They often invited us to sit and visit as they roasted the corn. I felt extremely safe walking down this street at all hours of the day. By the way, the typical Italian topping choices for your ear of roasted corn include: salt, ketchup, or mayo . . . interesting. The location of the hotel offers you opportunities to meet and mingle with the common Italian family and their lifestyles. This was perfect for me since I'm a teacher and love kids. Additionally, all students are taught English and the boys attempted to communicate with us in English--too charming. Without a doubt, the stay in this hotel was delightful and a learning experience. If you do stop by for an ear of corn, tell them Mary from Albuquerque, New Mexico, usa, sent you! If ever I find myself in the area again, I will definitely make a point to stay here.
Your first impression of the street leading to the hotel is not good! There is garbage strewn everywhere. However, as it turns out, this is very typical of Italian neighborhoods (at least in the city). I recommend looking past the garbage and see the beauty of life and living happening all around you. I also recommend that the Hotel Joyfull pick up the garbage on the block leading to their hotel (dead end). It would make a better first impression for the wary tourist.
Friendly staff Nicely decorated with a big room air con and a safe
When we came out of the airport and were on the way to the hotel we were passing through a very rough area obviously with a lot of poverty. You can imagine my shock when the taxi stopped to say we were here! We all just looked at each other. The hotel was no where near the centre of Naples and in an area that you would not walk around in! We took directions to the station to try and find some food (the hotel restaurant was closed probably through lack of business) but the trams were not working. We walked for 30mins before coming across a place that was serving food and looked nice. By now it was dark so we power walked it back to the hotel. We only stayed 2 out of the 4 nights before deciding to go to sorrento instead. I would only recommend staying here if you want to be close to the airport, not for a holiday. No offence to the hotel it's just the area. When you think you've found a bargain on a hotel there is always a reason!
Property of the room and the hotel Kindness of some staff (staff for cleaning and staff ready to give information about the area) breakfast the room was nice and spacy
Location (brouta & isolata !!) No restaurant at the hotel to get an evening meal Hard to get valuable food or drink in the quarter Really far from the train station (700m) and the bus stop was not a reliable way to go to the center of Napoli Difficult to get to the airport except if you go back to the central station in the center of Napoli or if you pay 16 € for a taxi...
I liked the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, the big double bed. It was impeccable. The room was very large and welcoming. And the armchair for reading or simply relaxing was comfortable.
The location, a big disatvantage, unfortunately. Late at night coming by foot from the city to the hotel can be a bit dangerous.
Everything was realy good: helpful staff (there was some problems with internet so the guy on reception helped us to find beach outside the Naples); clean and comfort room; good breakfast
Location is not very convenient. We didn't have a car so getting to Hotel from train station took about 40 minutes and neighborhood was a little bit scary.
