The staff were very helpful and friendly especially as we arrived late in the evening. The bed was amazingly comfortable. It was a little too early in the seaon to sit out for breakfast in the courtyard but it lookes lovely We drove past several times before noticing the descrete entrance. It would have been good to know this in advance (maybe a photo on the website?)

The hotel has an air of faded gentility but is very comfortable. The Reception staff were truly excellent and went out of their way to be helpful. Very luxurious reception rooms for when the weather is bad and, equally, a lovely outside dining terrace for warm evenings. The hotel recommended using a particular company to visit Etna, it was a truly amazing experience but I think that either the hotel or the brochure should warn that it involves about 90 minutes walking over difficult terrain at 6000ft. OK for youngsters but people over 60 might struggle a bit in the thin air and walking over the equivalent of black coarse sand. If you are going to do this, and I thoroughly recommend it, do make sure to wear the equivalent of walking boots with socks. The neighbourhood is very off-putting, a fellow guest was advised by a staff member not to wear his decent watch if he went out in the evening. But then most of central Catania seemed equally down at heel. The most serious problem was that, apart from the hotel restaurant, which was very good but towards the higher end (starters around £14, mains in the high £20s, and with the worst coffee I have tasted in years) there was nowhere decent to eat within a mile's radius of the hotel. If you did eat in, it was a struggle unless you spoke fluent Catanian, the waiter spoke not a word of anything else and certainly didn't intend to try.

Free valet parking!!!!! For an American driver in a rented car, it was a godsend. Hotel was well signposted from the route we used to enter Catania, and although the streets were typically narrow and busy, it was easy to park in front, get help unloading the car, and hand the keys off to the valet for off-street parking. There's a casual but elegantly simple restaurant, Cortile Capuana, just two blocks away. Great value for money in early April at 92 euros per double room with breakfast. Central heating was too hot on the fourth story, but opening the double doors to the room's balcony helped a lot.

Staff was very kind, helpful and professional. Thank you to all the employees at the reception! Lobby and the other common areas look good, but my room looked very old (other guests might like that, though), worn-out and way too dark. I didn't want to stay any minute longer than necessary in the room. Not what I expected from a 4 star hotel for 80 € per night in off-season.

The location of the hotel is close to the main shopping areas of Catania. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and clean. Car parking was limited and very tight to access, Breakfast staff were not so good - talking on mobile phone while clearing tables, etc. Web site had the wrong address for our gps, and the staff seemed disinterested about the situation.

Staff at front desk always very helpful and friendly. A very comfortable hotel!! Whilst the staff at the front were friendly; the staff in the breakfast area in the morning were always sullen and indifferent. Breakfast began at 7 am, yet bacon and eggs were not brought out until 7:30pm!

Room is very big and clean, we also have a big terrasse, good value for stay in city. Parking is free and the staff even drive the car from the garage for us(its a little diff to drive from the garage). Staff are very nice, providing many useful infor. To us. Ps.There's a good restaurant near this hotel (La Taverna Dei Conti, Via Guglielmo Oberdan.41 Catania). We dont know why but the room is a little cold at night, maybe its because we stay during Christmas, the aircondition work not very well. And the breakfast is poor, everyday is same thing, the only good point for breakfast is the Freshly squeezed orange juice.

The hotel is delivering what is promised in the description. It has rather good location for both - city tour and business purposes. The hotel provides city map and it is easy to find Katane Palace Hotel, if you decide to walk around city. Wi-Fi was working without any problems and it is for free. The facade of the hotel does not give any indication that this is 4 star hotel, which is good for business travelers. Such facade could be also for 2 star hotels. On the other side, the interior is OK.

The breakfast was delicious. Simple and beautifully presented and to sit looking out on the courtyard was heaven. Disappointed the safe in the room did not function.

Lovely hotel, nice location once you orient yourself. Good breakfast. Good internet connection throughout hotel. Easy walking distance to the main (2) shopping and tourist attractions. My only complaint is that I could not find any resturants in the area. I am sure there are some around, but I could not find them. Many cafes but no real sit down resturants.

It was okay, for the Flash Deal price I got through this website. Breakfast was pretty good compared to other places we've stayed in Italy. Hot eggs that weren't runny! Location is fine. Some reviewers complain about the street seeming a little unsafe. Not so. I actually live outside of Catania, make trips to the city frequently, and there's nothing wrong with this area. Room was large, but had a cold feel - kind of stale. Only one extra pillow and a blanket that looked kind of scary. I was able to control the room temp, so that was a plus.

An ordinary hotel with cozy and clean enough rooms. The stuff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts could be better in a 3-star hotel (especially the coffee). I visited some B&B hotels in the city which were better, more interesting and less expensive and with better location. The hotel doesn't provide a free Wi-Fi (that is unacceptable in our days).

Nice 4* hotel with an excellent restaurant, much better than in most 4* hotels. Nothing major: location was a bit off-centre (about a 10 min walk), breakfast was good, but fairly sober and overall it was a bit expensive for a slightly dated 4* hotel.

The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times The hotel is looking a little tired, but was obviously grand. Replenishment of items at the breakfast buffet could have been more efficiently carried out.

Hotel staff are very friendly and very willing to help (even though one or two lack some smile). There are parking lots available in the basement of hotel even though limited, the hotel staff will help you find city parking place nearby (0.75euros per hour 8:30-13:00/15:30- 20:00) the wifi is going well with my iphone. Very good value for money if you pay averagely 100 euros per night) The minibar provides free drinking water and pepsi ..very thoughtful of hotel The breakfast is correct and cuisine in catania is nothing special so don't expect too much.
