Pretty friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was really nice. Location is quite good. Well equipped facilities.
A little bit tiring to get through the stairs after a tourist walking day, but no big deal. Under the rug we realized that cleanliness could be better.
Thanks to Akela I felt myself very comfortable. He was very attentive to me.
There was a problem with wi-fi connection during my stay (some problems with company). But Akela finally managed to provide a wi-fi connection for me :)
Great location, very helpful host, excellent wifi with a router right behind our door.
We would have loved a little more variety in the breakfast.
I liked this hotel for its very good location. The hotel owner is very attentive, friendly and welcoming and I felt myself as home. Very clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and healthy.
Service, Location, WIFI
Outstanding service. Polite, friendly, and professional.
Very secure.Good size of single room. Excellent breakfast of tea/coffee, hot milk, strawberries, yoghurt, fruit juice, croissant, toast, jams, butter delivered to your room at whatever time you specify. Owner was very helpful and totally positive and cheerful. 15 min walk from Duomo, 25 min from station. Private bathroom was fine. Stayed 5 nights, out all day, great price. A bargain for low cost travellers.
Make sure the Owner knows exactly when you are first arriving so he can meet you at the front door, either by e-mail or preferably by phone close to your day of arrival, and get confirmation. No aircon but a 3-speed fan with swing motion and I opened the windows (nice rooftop view) except at night - street too noisy. No mosquitoes came into my room because of Owners plugged-in liquid deterrent vapouriser.
Akela is the perfect host. He is a hard working man, who takes true care of his guests. He carried our luggage even if we said it wasn't necessary. He listened to and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was very good. Everywhere was perfectly clean. It was a very comfortable stay thanks to him.
Nothing. The only thing to consider while deciding to stay at Aida's house is that you will be living in apartment with a total of three rooms but every room has its own key and private bathroom as told in the description. So, there are other guests in the apartment. If you are fine with it, Aida's house is a perfect place.
Friendly Akhela, cosy room, best breakfest of all we got in Italy during our 9 day journey, perfect place - in the center of town.
The host Akela is very nice and sweet！！He made us feel like at home. The room was comfortable and we even had our own bathroom. The breakfast was also good~ I will definitely choose it again if I go to Firenze another time!
super nice staff, thank you
not much, everything was fine.
10/10 Akela was the best host I have ever seen in my life and I travel a lot! He was very gentle with a big smile, he even hugged me goodbye when I was leaving. Every morning he served me breakfast (very healthy with strawberries, yogurt, croissants, jams, orange juice, hot chocolate) in my room the exact time I wanted it. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed, I had my own bathroom with free shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and even perfumes! The B&B is near to all the monuments 7 minutes walking to Duomo. Also Akela make me feel like I was in my home, and as a solo traveller this is very important I was by myself in a different country and I felt so secure like I was in my country in my room! If you are planning visit Firenze, you MUST stay at Aida's House. Excellent hospitality! Thank you for everything Akela you are such a nice person!
Akela is a kind host, who makes you feel at home. The location is perfect, just few minutes walking from the main tourist spots. The WIFI works very well and the breakfast is satisfactory. If I go to Florence again, I'll stay there.
No Lift, No AC
The owner was friendly & very helpful. The rooms were on the 3rd floor by European standards ( 4th floor by American standards) & the owner carried all our luggage up on the day we arrived & and down the day we left. He was also helpful the day we left calling a taxi at 4:30 in the morning to catch an early airplane. Wonderful rooms with a table, chairs, and a couch.
No elevator. Nothing nearby to eat at. Longer walk to the center than the other hotel we visited in Florence.
Mr.Akela was very friendly and excellent host. Very clean room & toilet. Good breakfast. Location is good to cover most of the important places in Florence.
No Lift, but Akela helped us to carry our suitcases.
Akela is the most wonderful and helpful host in the world! We got lost and called him several times (sorry about that) and when we arrived at the bus stop he was already there waiting for us! The food was really nice and the room as totally comfortable and clean. Love it!
Excellent place! Mr Akela was really friendly!anything we wanted, we asked it!!very clean place! Nice room! Comfort bed! We had our bathroom! Breakfast was served at our room! Try chocolate!!!;) thank you for everything mr Akela!!!! Hope to see you soon!!!:)
Very close to Firenze centre. High level of security. Paymant parking 50 m from hotel.
Very sweet air freshener. Noisy street: regular bus traffic. Some worn furniture. Non confortable, small shower cabin.
Akela is wonderful host. He made us feel at home from the moment we walked inside. The room and the bed was very cosy. Breakfast was served in the room and had personal touch to it.
The host Akela was really awesome, and that makes you overlook the fact, that the room is not the fanciest one. He was extremely helpful with everything. The fact that he brings breakfast to your bed is somehow charming. :-)
The shower was the bathroom was the shower... Makes it a little difficult, since you wet the whole floor when showering.
Cozy, comfortable place and good location
I think guests should understand that this apartment was converted two years ago to the type of room accommodation. So it's all very informal, like to stay in someone's home, and it's not for everyone. For us it was strange. The owner of the apartment and the hotel had three keys for doors and gates, but no key to the room itself, so when we went out we left the door open and same at night. It was a little strange and uncomfortable. Basic breakfast,
The owner was perfect. Room is quite big and has a private bathroom. Breakfast was really good.
The shower could be improved.
Our host, Akela, is a nice guy - always made sure everything is fine with us. The room is part of their flat with the bathroom separated from the room. It was fine with us, but some might dislike it. They have two cats and a mop - fun for kids.
The breakfast: no variety, preserved croissant with nutella and jams.
Akela is a wonderful host. Extremely kind and helpful, you feel at home immediately. Talking to him is a joy, be it in Italian or English (I think he speaks French too). This is no luxury hotel, it is a simple apartment and you get a simple room, but for what it is - it's perfect. It is very clean, you have everything you need and you feel the love and attention to detail that is put into making your stay as pleasant as it could be in Aida's House. They think of everything. If you want to see Florence and you are not the kind of person to spend huge amounts of money for your stay, just so you can avoid seeing the city and sit in your luxury home, then this is not for you. If you want to spend the bulk of your day actually visiting Florence and return late at night if must be - just to spend a restful night in a nice and cozy place; then this is perfect for you. I think it's nice if you want to travel in a small group too, there are rooms for that and I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be nice.
It was a bit cold sometimes (mid March). That wasn't a problem during the night since Akela provides you with enough blankets, but the stone floor is very cold to the touch if you want to walk around on bare feet. There were flip-flops in the room though :).
