Floors were filthy, even after a request to clean them. Room needed updating. No dresser. Bar not open. No glasses in room. Breakfast choices need expansion, but was a convenient service.

Its position in the city of Rome is excellent. You are within walking distance of most of the major attractions. There is a metro station within 3 minutes walking distance of the hotel. Close to Restaurants.

Breakfast could be improved. Not enough variety.

the unfriendliness of some of the staff at the reception; no room service; at first I was placed in a room without any privacy, facing the solarium (had to keep the curtains closed at all times since it was a public area)

The breakfast was good. The reception staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The taxi service they organised for our trip back to the airport was excellent.

The rooms are very shabby and dark. The walls and carpets were very dirty.It looks like it has not been touched since the early 60s. The en suite in our opinion needs a total refurb, though there was lots of hot water at anytime. The rooftop motors kept us awake lots.

I was very happy with everything about the Hotel King. The carpets were quite worn but the whole room was kept very clean and had all the necessary items to make my stay comfortable and safe. I was travelling alone so it was very comforting to know I was in a very safe hotel once I arrived there. The staff was great in all aspects. My shower was awesome and I rate that as very important. I did not have a terrace nor would I want one so make sure you find out what room you will be staying in. Some folks might prefer one. I had secured windows with lovely iron works so I was able to leave my windows open when I wanted fresh air. There was air conditioning but I was happy I never had to use it. The rate and location of the hotel were the two most important features I was searching for during my two week stay. I was happy with both and checked out many of the other hotels I had been looking at on line once I arrived and I felt the Hotel King was the best choice for me and feel very blessed that I had chosen it. The breakfast was always lovely and fresh and the staff was wonderful there as well.

The Hotel King is right next door to the Sistina Theatre where there is music and such every evening. The music could be heard from around 7pm until around 11pm. It was annoying on several occasions but I had earplugs along and an ipod so be sure to bring these supplies and all will be fine. I really enjoyed the music on many of the nights.
