A very nice design hotel with a good location at Piazza St. Maria Novella. Staff very helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge. Nice and quiet surroundings, no heavy traffic. Close to the main train station if you arrive by train as we did. Short distances to all major sights. Good breakfast in a spacious room with great view over the piazza. Overall, this hotel was very impressive and exceeded our expectations.

Close proximity to all the major tourist attractions and city offerings. Not really a complaint but if you are driving into the city, this hotel had no apparent parking.

We booked this hotel because this is only one of the very few hotels that offers rooms for a family of 4. Most of the hotels in Firenze have rooms for up to 3 people only. We also liked that it is centrally situated between the Santa Maria Novella train station, Duomo, shopping, Arno river & Mercato Central. We booked 2 day trips out of Florence so we wanted to make sure that we are near the train station where most of the tours start. When we arrived on April 25th, there was an open market with music at the Piazza Santa Maria where our hotel was located. There is a gelateria across the Piazza which also sells bottled water. In terms of price, their bottled water is the least expensive. The hotel is also 2 short blocks away from Bucca Mario Ristorante which was recommended by the hotel staff. It is a pricey restaurant but well worth it. We had dinner on our last night at this restaurant. The service was excellent. They wine menu only lists orders for 1/2 bottle or bottle of wine but the waiter made an exception for me. In our first 2 breakfast, the restaurant which is located on the 4th floor of the hotel was serving a mix of cut fruits - orange, kiwi, grapes. They stopped serving it on Day 3 - 5 of our stay. I also suggest that they vary their hot menu at least 2x a week because it can get tiring to eat the same bacon & eggs 5 days in a row. The hotel has only 1 PC and I suggest that they seriously consider adding 2 more connections.

Our daughter loved the collection of toiletry bottles. The breakfast room was a bit crowded (we had to wait for a table on two mornings), and the selection of food could have been a bit better.

Breakfast was delicious & the room in which it was served, had an amazing view and was very posh. We had the family room suite which was 2 separate bedrooms, and 2 baths - worked well for our family of 5. The decor is fashionable and sleek. The lobby and is comfortable & elegant. Bar room is lovely. The location is fabulous for the bridges, the Duomo and the shopping!! Concierge was very helpful and accomodating and gave us excellent dinner recommendations! The hotel is brand new - aesthetically, it is gorgeous!!. But they are still working out some kinks I think & it lacks some common sense details; like tiny double doors into the bathrm that are difficult to open and close and would be very difficult for anyone w/ any handicap of any kind to operate. the beds are on a platform w/ sharp corners - my husband stubbed his toe twice. and the lighting is poor at best. be extremely careful getting in & out of the tub - slippery and way too high up. Bar staff was less than accomodating. Felt as if we were putting them out.

It was the perfect base to see Florence. The staff were very helpful in booking the tours we wished to visit. It was a great bonus to get fresh clean towels every day. The only let down we had was the breakfast. Staying there for 6 nights the continental breakfast never changed. We asked one morning for poaced eggs and were told "it was not possible" even though we could have ordered that if wee had booked breakfast in the room.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The location in Piazza smn is close to the train station. My room was comfortable and spacious and especially the bathroom. Friendly and professional staff. The buffet breakfast could improve with more hot food items. And when I sat down to eat at around 10 am on the two days, the hot food was almost all gone and wasn't refilled. There is a small gym but only some free weights and a bench. No weight machines at all. I was hoping to workout while I was there but didn't because of lack of equipment.

it is a rare thing when the hotel you book is equal to the glossy photos in the web page. Hotel L'Orologio is one of those rare hotels - classic and innovative, brilliant service and amenities. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our holiday in Italy, it is the one we now use as a yardstick for excellence. Not the cheapest in the list but worth every euro. Although the wi-fi was free, we had poor connection in our room. This was easily overcome by going down to their comfortable lobby/library areas but may be an issue for others.

Very well designed hotel with very good rooms and bathrooms. Good location not far from the main station and centre of town but not right bang in the middle of the buzz either. Knowing Italians do not do much about their breakfast, this hotel serves a good one in a breakfast room with great views. Hotel should change the shower curtains to sliding glass doors instead.

The Hotel L'orologio is located on PIazza Santa Maria Novella which is about five minutes walk from main train station. The sights of Firenze are all within 15 minutes walk so the location was perfect from our point of view. We had a superior room that was well appointed and came with a large clean bathroom. Staff were uniformly friendly and efficient. A very diverse continental breakfast is served on the forth floor in a room overlooking the Piazza. The public rooms downstairs are cozy and comfortable. I used the "fitness centre" which was tiny but okay with a couple of aerobic machines and some free weights. In summary, we would have no hesitation returning to this delightful hotel for our next visit to Firenze. Very slow wifi.

This was a great hotel to stay in and we will definitely stay here again when we come to Florence. We stayed in the junior suite which was fabulous and the downstairs living area with cosy fireplace room, etc was lovely as well. Extremely central and the perfect location for a weekend break away.

Location close to the train station. Beware of the small room offered by hotel, Its very very small; 14 square meters, you cannot move easily within the room. And the Hotel has no sign outside, so you can get lost easily looking for it.

The hotel was beautiful and was a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. Our room was gorgeous and large, with nice furnishings and a view of the Duomo on one side and Santa Maria Novella on the other. The common areas of the hotel were very beautifully furnished as well. Service was great. The front desk staff was helpful in recommending restaurants and offering to make reservations, etc. Would definitely stay here again!
