Centrally located in Amalfi's historic Piazza del Duomo and within walking distance of the beaches, this full- service B&B still manages to retain the charm and beauty of times past.

Score from 31 reviews Wonderful
Admire the view of the Bay of Naples at Domus San Vincenzo in Sant'Agnello. Dating back to the 16th century, this interesting property is run by a convent.
Score from 170 reviews Very good
Admire the panorama from your private balcony at Villa Gabrisa, a warm and friendly establishment in upper Positano featuring unforgettable sea views.
Score from 103 reviews Wonderful
Excellent location on the beach. Wonderful view of the ocean from the attached veranda. Close to the ferry drop off point.
Close to harbour and bus station, so ideal for trips in the area.
Location was very good lovely clean hotel and buffett breakfast staff friendly especially barman
No wi fi
Location, super staff, great view of the harbor.
Excellent position - arguably the best in the town. Hotel spacious inside; we had a deluxe room which was very good - corner room with balcony on front and side. We liked the bar on the ground floor - shame there wasn't on on the small roof terrace - would have been lovely. However, overall, felt the hotel was somewhat overpriced - especially bearing in mind the comments below.
From the attitude of the staff got the feeling that this was the end of the season - and they were glad. One member of the reception staff was helpful and the chambermaid very good; dining room staff at breakfast very poor indeed. "Can I have a clean knife please" - Reply - "over there" with just a nod of head in the general direction was typical. Indeed, the breakfast was probably the worst I have experienced in any 3 or 4 star hotel. With all the lovely fruit available in the markets they served tinned pineapple and prunes every day. Whilst perhaps an Italian 'specialty' I thought the plate of cold beans and cauliflower both strange - and looked very unappetising. As a result we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening, so can't comment on that.
Our room was a really good size as was the bathroom. We had a lovely view of the ocean with a little balcony which was a joy to sit and relax and enjoy the view. The staff were very friendly and happy to provide recommendations for restaurants which I must say were really good so make sure you ask. This is a traditional Italian hotel and we certainly enjoyed our staff here.
Unfortunately the bed was way too hard
We were just stopping one night on our way to Puglia so wanted hotel that had car parking and was close to Amalfi . All provided by the hotel . Room overlooked the bay and had a nice promenade outside to walk the 3 minutes to Amalfi .
Breakfast ok. Car parking a bit tight for larger cars and number of places limited .
Superb position, spacious room. Excellent, perceptive cleaning staff.
Restaurant, bar staff could be more customer-focused/less formal. Over-firm bed. Shower head too low.
Very good location, convenient for buses and ferries. Good view from the balcony and fourth floor terrace bar. Large room. Fair prices for bar drinks.
Air conditioning was not the easiest to use and the bright colours in the decor may not appeal to everyone.
Staff were most obliging. Would recommend this hotel to any traveller. Good value for money. Walking distance to town centre and public transport.
With-fi was troublesome at times. Poor connection. TV in room wasn't working most nights. Some guests were noisy late in the evening interrupting sleep.
The view of the harbour and Amalfi from our room. We loved being able to walk out the door with several beaches at our fingertips. It is a great jumping off spot for Positano, ferries, and boats to beach side restaurants. The staff were so helpful and made wonderful recommendations for restaurants, made bookings for us, and couldn't be more accomodating. We will stay again and recommend La Bussola to our friends.
The bathroom had a musty smell.
Location, friendly staff, food
Hot water for more 2 minutes would have been great. A bit noisy with the road in front.
We ended up getting married in ravello and stayed at bussolla. They were absolutely amazing! You won't find a better hotel In amalfi for customer service, excellent views and an all round wonderful helpful experience !
Location , access to private deck on bay
Although typical of amalfi coast the inability to keep room cool while out, also you could not sit on terrace without shutting a/c, they need new hair dryers
Location could not be better, 5 mins from town. Staff very helpful Views from room Wi-Fi Mini-bar
Beds could be more comfortable Limited breakfast choices Car park very tight Tea / Coffee facility in room would have been nice.
Everything was great. Location, clean, front beach deck chairs were free (not 30 Euro for two as you would pay on most beaches) Staff were helpful.
Rooms were quite small, which is typical for the area of Amalfi however shower was tiny to the point I couldn't bend down to clean my feet and I'm quite a slim guy. Breakfast was good but not great compared to others we experienced on the trip
Hotel La Bussola is a very nice, well kept hotel located across the street from the scenic harbor and a short walk to the center of Amalfi. The friendly staff is very knowledgeable on restaurants and fun activities to do on the Amalfi Coast. The manager Vincennes was great! His advice helped make my family's first trip to Amalfi a brilliant lifetime experience. Our two rooms were large with plenty of space for three adults in each room and a beautiful view from our balcony.
The location is great, set just outside the town centre. The staff were lovely and the breakfast options were good
Location Access to Amalfi shopping and transport Weather General hotel facilities Helpful staff
No pool on hotel site Limited access to beach Rocks, not sand on beach Marine fuel in water Crowds
The location is great, just by the marina and bus station in Amalfi. It also has a little private "beach" right in front of it which is nice in Amalfi where the bagnis are either over-expensive or over-crowded.
Daily fee for safe if you want to use it. This should really be free in a four star hotel.
This was a wonderful hotel for a family, with a friendly, chatty lobby staff, a short walk to the private swimming platform across the road in the boat harbour, good complimentary breakfast, and a short stroll to Amalfi village area. The stroll was well worth it, as it gives the hotel a degree of tranquility. Old world charm and a fantastic introduction to Italy.
Swimming attendant can be quite sulky if you haven't tipped him on arrival. Driving in the the hotel can be quite awkward depending on the time of day. Never a problem in a Fiat 500, but definitely an Audi A6.
Location was excellent, walking distance to marina and town centre. Clean. Very friendly staff.
There was a smell in our room that seemed to be coming from the air conditioning unit- staff were informed and looked into it but it didn't fully fix the problem. I notice other reviewers mentioned the same thing in the past.
Location Clean and well presented
