Hotel Flora features a nice leafy courtyard where a varied breakfast buffet is served every morning. In a 17th-century building, it is a 5 minute walk from St Mark’s Square and offers a fitness...

Location is fantastic The restaurant is excellent The dining room very cosy
The comfort of the bedroom is fair
situation, staff, buffet breakfast, dinner menu, and away from the crowds
Have slept in a more comfortable bed or are the beds on the lower floors (we were on the third) not so board like!
Booked a room with a canal room, was fantastic! Good pressure in the shower Good breakfast
Nothing, I'd definitely book it again
Pleasant room overlooking the Giudecca Canal with terrace--no. 4, only one with terrace. Pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. Great bedlinens soft from many washings.Excellent food. Best bread in Venice.
Room a bit small and beds not greatly comfortable. Could have use a softer pillow, which they didn' t have. Wi-Fi so poor that my mobile phone mostly dropped it because it was "too slow." Not much better with the computer. Wi-Fi ran around 5Mbps rather than the usual 60Mbps. Quite a pain because one ndirections so often in Venice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was terrific.
View of the Grand Canal. Good size bathroom. hardwood floors. Restaurant in hotel.
Caught the same staff person in our room twice. He entered once when my wife was alone in the room. And a second time when we returned to the room after dinner. He gave a nonsensical excuse (to close shutters ...when none of the other shutters were closed) Counter staff were very defensive when we notified them of this incident.
The position was great, not far from St Marks Square, and the Accademia museum, with lovely views of the skyline, IF you have booked the right rooms! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast choice and service was terrific in the morning. Good restaurants were within walking distance, and the staff recommended the best ones very well.
The bathroom was tiny with a shower about 2 foot square with a plastic curtain around it that couldn't stop the water from covering the floor when you used it, which made it very dangerous to walk on. There was no mirror over the sink, so shaving was rather precarious, I told the receptionist, and they moved a mirror out of the bedroom, and placed it over the sink, after removing a shelf in the bathroom that had held all our toiletries? The cord to the bathroom ventilator snapped on the first day, but was not replaced after I reported it to the receptionist, making using the bathroom a very steamy experience. The soap provided was a tiny postage stamp size that disappeared after using it for one shower! We had no view at all from our 2 windows, just a brick wall 10 feet away, which is very sad considering we were in a place of great visual beauty. A boiler system started up at around 6 am, just underneath our room, Number 30, which woke us up every morning. I bought some ear plugs eventually! The staff quarters entrance was next to our room entrance, and was being opened and slammed shut all day long. So, YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD ROOM , but you will have to pay considerably more for that. Try to get one with a bath too, the showers as I said are a bad and dangerous joke.
The location was excellent;perfect for the vaporetta and Alilaguna stops. It was any easy stroll over the bridge to the busier parts of Venice. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has character and it was lovely to enjoy the very substantial breakfast whilst watching all the activity on the wide canal.
It was very pleasant eating outside on the pontoon restaurant but the food was mediocre and tepid, however there are plenty of options nearby. The evening sun shines on the outside seating area but it was taken over by non-residents.Also my room had a separate private bathroom which would have been better if it were not at the other end of the corridor!
Hotel Calcina is very easy to find and the staff are extremely helpful. Our room overlooking the canal was great, it was lovely watching the boats on the water day and night.
The staff were great, being only too happy to assist 24/7. Cannot speak highly enough if them. Location was good outside the hustle and bustle of central Venice.
My canal view room was a side view and not centrally facing. The hotel, like many in Venice, is old and whilst there is a charm about it the room was tiny and the single bed narrow. It was very short of creature comforts and is very basic.
The location is on the water but not too close to a water taxi station, so that made it fairly quiet. The outdoor dining was very nice. We could walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were very helpful across all 3 nights of our stay.
The only negative is actually what adds to the charm of the hotel - these are not big rooms. We were paying for location and service and got both.
I booked this hotel initially for the price- less than $200 a night. It turned out that it was a great choice- despite the small room. The location is ideal for me, close to Accademia and the Peggy Guggenheim museums, along the south facing water front promenade. Although its on the other side of the Grand Canal, its easily accessible by Vaparetto (a short walk from Line 1/2). And it has an excellent restaurant by the water with view of Palladio.. a bonus.
For the price, my bathroom is down the hall (not attached to my tiny room). But I don't care... when in Venice, who spends time in the hotel room anyways?)
I was solo traveler and hotel was perfect for me. Single room was absolutely spotless and even had balcony with a bit of a canal view. Staff was exceedingly welcoming and helpful. Restaurant was excellent and vaporetto and Alilaguna stops are steps from hotel. This is the sixth hotel I have tried in Venice and will be the one I return to.
Nothing to dislike!
The position, the view over the water from our bedroom was stunning. Easy walk to St.Mark's Square without the crowds. Easy to catch a water bus to wherever including to & from airport. Lots of local restaurants.
There was noise during the night from the boats but that is to be expected considering the amazing position of the hotel.
nice location and clean hotel
Wifi signal was very weak Breakfast was very simple
Excellent location and friendly staff. Clean and good breakfast. Good value by Venice standards @ €200 a night.
the location is still fabulous
This hotel used to be wonderful but it has now become very expensive for what it offers . The food is not as good the tables are jammed together in the restaurant and the staff are not as helpful as they were
Wonderful location and helpful staff. Traditional decor, good breakfast. Reasonable rates.
No lift but staff volunteered to help with the luggage.
Nice waterfront location away from the most tourist intensive areas.
Very narrow bed.
Close proximity to vaporettos, St Marks Square , Art Galleries, restaurants and shops but quiete enough to feel relaxed and away from the crowds. Wonderful breakfasts outside by the water. Staff were wonderful and we had a very memorable week.
not serving dinner on Monday night. service was very slow the nught i did eat there
Everything! Absolutely wonderful location, great room, very comfortable. Loved my view of the canal!
Everything was excellent!
This hotel is a must to be so near the port terminal. The location is only a taxi boat away.
Nothing I did not like.
Breakfast could be more variety cause you are a good restaurant
