Interesting all town, all can be done in half a day.
Interesting all town, all can be done in half a day. The bridge must be visited and the archeological site on the other side should be seen but lack of information for tourists. The panorama view, from both sides of the river, is appreciated.

Nice old part of the town, very cozy - you could also make a stroll to the old bridge just a little bit outside the center but reachable by foot - from here nice views to the center and the valley, Archeological area above.
The train station is about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the old part of Gravina.

In some ways better than Matera.
In some ways better than Matera. Very interesting small town, with good restaurants. However, the day we were after a meal (Easter Monday), most were fully booked. However, we were able to eat at '13 VoLTE', which, although had a lovely feel and ambience, the food left a lot to be desired. We travelled through the Murgia National park towards Castele Del Monte, which was scenic.

Apartment in the very center of Gravina in Puglia. There are many cafes around where you can eat and it's fun to walk and admire the old town. The apartment is very cozy, with a well-functioning air conditioner and wifi. The owner Roberto is very nice. He showed us the remains of ancient buildings under the apartment, which he excavates himself. It was very interesting to see and hear Roberto story about his archeological excavations. We had a pleasant stay here.
We arrived very late at night. the owner contact me few days before to confirm my arrival time.
We came from Bari very late got lost in the way but the owner was nice, she waited and explain arrive.
When we came sh took us to our rooms, gave the kyes and gave us the all place to ourself.
breakfast was not on the place, we needed to drive to the local town it's in the coffee shop. I was great! great coffee and great cakes/Croissant.
The location so close to the bridge and cave houses is stunning, as is the hotel itself with its thick stone walls, dome shaped ceilings and classic/wild/kitschy:stylish interior decoration. It feels extremely luxurious with lots of marble in the bathroom and a mix of new and classic furniture. Even the wardrobes are handcrafted to fit the round ceilings. Everything is in great working order, too.
Although I usually have a sweeter breakfast option (with bread) the breakfast offering was good and tasteful. The room is large, the mattress was firm and I had a really good night sleep in a cool and quite room (suite). The room is very modern and lot of modern materials were used. The room has a modern atmosphere. The hotel (palazzo) was very close to the famous aquaduct.
Perfect location next to the old centre of Gravina in Puglia. The place is an authentic and atmospheric palazzo. Our room was luxurious and beautiful, with complete breakfast. You will be astonished when you walk in the door of this B&B. I recommend to stay here to visit Gravina and surroundings in Puglia.
We have only met friendly and helpful people on our trip around Puglia and Leonardo at Duca Orsini was one of the most friendly and helpful. Very nice B&B good location and highly recommended for anyone walking the cammino Materano.
Beautiful B&B, located in Gravina in Puglia. The bed was super confortable and the room very beautiful. The hosts were very helpful and gave us a lot of Informations on the city and what to see.
The hotel is situated in an excellent location- ideal for exploring the city on foot. The room was extremely clean and bedding was crisp and ironed. Both bedroom and bath were sizable.
The hotel is completely new, well designed, beautiful and spacious rooms, perfect location, delicious breakfast, staff super friendly and helpful. We will come back!!
We were very happy to stay at IL Borgo Relais. This facility has everything you might need. Plus cave restaurant is right downstairs. The breakfast was delicious.
