The view was amazing, room was spacious and modern, and the staff was so helpful in recommending restaurants to eat at.
Hotel is a bit hard to find if you don't know the area. I can see how stairs might be difficult for older people especially with large rolling luggage. I had a large 60 L backpack, so I didn't find it that bad, though it is still a bit of a hike.
Tastefully decorated. Clean, although simple, rooms. Modern bathrooms with great showers. Quiet location on a hill overlooking town. Lemon grove is lovely and smells nice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and will make dinner reservations, arrange for taxi service, etc.
Location is a bit out of town; only a 5-10 minute walk but there are other options closer. Views of the ocean are limited and obstructed by buildings and construction cranes. There is definitely a climb up the hill. Not impossible but not something you look forward to at the end of a long day or after a nice dinner with wine.
The fellow that helped my husband and I check in was great, he lent us towels and suggested that we visit certain sites.
The wifi does not work (at all!!), the water is freezing cold - not warm at all, and at night time there is no staff that stays at the house. Everyone goes home so if you need anything you are literally on your own with a house full of other strangers. THEN, no one showed up to serve breakfast or check us out! Breakfast was supposed to be served at 8:30 but there was no sign of anyone and we waited until 9:30 (then we left). It was absolutely ridiculous. We never heard an apology from Casa Dei Limoni or anything.
Lovely location. Attentive, helpful and generous host, excellent breakfast. Comfortable, modern decor in the bedroom. Gorgeous lemon grove for chilling in the evenings.
Not the easiest to find in the dark!
View from terrace is wonderful, lemon grove, having breakfast on the terrace, spacious room
walk up the stairs
As other have said, it's a heck of a climb - especially with big bags (like we had!) but the result is stunning views. We were in 1a, which was newly renovated. Great shower. Breakfast is good and the staff helpful.
Getting our bags up the mighty hill.
The hotel has a good view down to Monterosso (we had a balcony). The service was really good, and we got some great tips from the guy in the reception. The hotel was clean and fresh.
This was one of favourite places we stayed on our trip through Europe. The staff was amazing! Jackimo, was so awesome and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Our room was beautiful, big and comfortable. Loved the Terrace with the amazing view. The rain shower head was also very nice. The breakfast was good with lots of options. The location is a bit out of the village but we liked the fact that it was quiet. The lemon garden at night was so beautiful. Was a nice touch. We would defiantly stay here again. Wish we could have stayed longer.
no staff no wifi no help with anything
the staff are very friendly and helpful. nothing to complain.
The best thing about Casa Dei Limoni is Giacomo the afternoon host. He is a true asset and together with the view the reason we decided to stay at the property. The view of Monterosso from the terrace and rooms is wonderful even if it is partially obscured by the crane. I agree you do need to pack light as there is a steep climb to reach the hotel. Thankfully Giacomo helped us with our luggage. The rooms were modern and tastefully decorated and exactly as pictured.
Not being advised on our first morning that breakfast would not be served. The terrain leading up to the hotel was difficult and not lit up at night. Luckily we packed a torch. The hotel and rooms were clean except for the shower recess which was mouldy and not cleaned during our 3 day stay.
Service was great, room clean and comfortable and a lovely view over Monterosso.
hard walk uip the hill
Had to make up our own beds. Fridge didn't work. Dangerous unlit pathway.
A very comfortable hotel with very helpful staff.
Very small signage made the hotel difficult to find. Would be helpful to tell guests in advance that hotel staff will come down to the bottom of the steep stairs to bring luggage up to the lobby.
Friendly and helpful staff The general ambiance of Casa Dei Limone Vews
No place to sit and talk with other guests or sit if it was rainy
James was very helpful. The lemon garden was beautiful. We met the owners on our last night and they are a charming couple.
We stayed three nights and there was no hot water the first night. This was tough after a long day of travel to get there. The third night there was a storm and the electricity went out and we had no water at all. We left at 6:15 am...no showers again and no light to pack by. I believe we should be given a discount based on these issues.
Clean and comfortable Friendly family who own the property Good breakfast with nice vista
Wifi doesn't work in all rooms
The room was sparse but comfortable. Big balcony with lovely views. The hotel was close to the town centre.
No staff around when we arrived. We had to go hunting around to find someone even though I had telephoned in the morning to tell them our ETA. No bread available for breakfast until later on our second day. No hot water on our last night and last morning. No breakfast available on our last morning, no staff contactable to enable us to check out and complain. It cost us £15 a day to park in an adjacent public car park. The 80 odd steps up to the hotel were a real pain being very steep and not particularly well maintained. They were not well lit either. No sign of the famous lemon cake!
1. The walk up the stairs, 80 large steps, doesn't tell the true story. 2. Morning after we checked in there was no one at the desk, no hot water, no breakfast (promised for 8AM) and no wifi. 3. No one answered the emergency number. We left our keys and left the premises. An absolute horror show"
The afternoon/evening staff member, Giacomo, was outstanding. He was waiting for us at the bottom of the long steep walkway to the hotel with his mechanized cart to haul our luggage to the top when our cab arrived. He provided good restaurant and sightseeing information. He was very friendly and had a great attitude--the best thing about this facility. The views from the terrace and room balcony (if you have one) are nice.
The location, while charming, is at the top of a very steep hill which makes coming and going a rigorous proposition. The stone walkway is not particularly well lit at night, so we had to use our cell phone flashlight to find our way up after dark. While Giacomo was outstanding, the morning staff member was late both days and the promised 8:30 breakfast was served at closer to 9:30 which was disappointing since we wanted to get out to sight see. This staff member made NO apologies either day and was not the least bit friendly. He is in the wrong business! Our room was clean and modern, but extremely TINY. The shower in the bathroom was the size of a phone booth. Perhaps the suites are the better choice. I hate to say this, but the climb up the incredibly steep walkway, the tiny room, and the unpleasant breakfast experience would cause me to go elsewhere next time.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Pretty location and good breakfast.
Views are lovely
Avoid heavy luggage, no parking, steep climb to location by foot.
Excellent quiet location just outside the old town. We loved sitting out in the lemon grove with a wine/beer in the evenings. Facilities are clean and modern with helpful staff.
There is the stairs, yes you need to be aware. Also breakfast comes out in Italian time ie more like 9am than the 8.30 they tell you it starts.
Room decor, bathroom exceptional and modern. Nice view surrounding lemon grove.
Long hike from parking area up to Casa is difficult with heavy luggage. Ted will help with heavy lifting items. Pack light.
Good sleep quality . Quiet location out of town. You can hear a nearby stream which is great.
Hard trip up the hill to the property. Breakfast poor and not served till 8.30 at the earliest. Rooms are adequate but lack personality,
