it’s a city one must visit at least once
in a lifetime. it has a lot to offer, the architecture and the history is one of a kind. but there are so many people it is hard to enjoy your time there. everything is crowded and the metro is dirty.

Rome is not just the Sistine Chapel, Vatican, Borghese Gallery, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Forum and Colosseum. It is an onion with many many layers and it takes time to take it all in. Many fantastic smaller museums, art galleries, and churches. Much of the city is a Baroque masterpiece.

I love the history of Rome and just for that it is well worth visiting. Must-see places include the Coliseum, Roman Forum, Vatican, famous fountains such as Trevi, Trastaverde neighborhood, Spanish Steps, etc. I grew tired of the constant city noises of car horns, aggressive taxi drivers, crowds, being on guard for pickpockets (I foiled 1 attempt on the metro) and once I saw what I came to see, I was ready to go. Getting around can be difficult because there are essentially only 2 metro lines serving the main old city area and they don't come close to some areas one wants to see. Trust taxi drivers at your own risk and Uber is quite expensive which leaves you with the bus system which gets bogged down in traffic. Then there are the restaurant owners some of whom are trying to find ways to pad your bill with specials, bringing you water you didn't ask for, bread, table charges, etc. I also met some great restaurant owners and many nice people but there are enough bad apples that you have to be on the defensive. As for food, some really good, some so-so, usually overpriced, I had better food for less money in almost every other place I visited in Italy. I'm glad I visited Rome but I do not plan on visiting again.

I was in mid March and it was just magical, the weather was gorgeous! It is without exaggeration the most beautiful city in Europe, you can keep yourself busy just walking around the city and enjoying the view of the streets. I would like to mention that the people here are very friendly and helpful, which is a huge plus! I want to come back here again for sure!

took my wife to Rome for her Birthday and it was amazing, I will definitely return, could not fault it, I would recommend booking any excursions when you get there, much cheaper then booking online, best pizza's I've ever eaten.
This was my first trip to Italy. And straight to Rome. I really wanted a place to sleep and relax that would not spoil the impression of the trip. Therefore, I chose the hotel for a long time and very carefully. I chose Amica Roma Guest House and I was right! The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of the Vatican and the metro. Very cozy and comfortable room. Very tasty breakfasts! And a wonderful, sincere host Robert. Staying at this hotel only enhanced my wonderful feelings from a trip to magical Rome!
I loved everything about this place. Leaving the property and coming back felt like home. It was quiet yet not right in Rome but accessible to everything and I loved being in the Trastevere neighborhood. Out of the 2 weeks I stayed in Italy and I stayed in many places this was my favorite. Between the terrace, the location, the comfort of the bed and the blackout shades it was just an incredible stay. Fausta the owner is super friendly and accommodating. She even had some amazing desserts in the lounge room.
The location of this hotel is great, walking distance to Colosseum, Trevi fountain etc. Also close to some good restaurants (Melo, Pizzeria alle Carrette). Dined and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - excellent staff - good food and value for money. Our room had a lovely view over Rome and was quite spacious. Bed was really comfortable. Staff were very helpful and had really good local knowledge. Had tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a fridge which you don't always get in Italy.
The Room was well laid out and was super convenient to the Metro station, just steps away from the entrance. The bed/pillows were one of the most comfortable I had during my 2 week journey through Italy.
AC was able to keep the room cold on a hot summer evening. And the washroom/shower was surprisingly spacious compared to the average Italian accommodation.
Keep in mind this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. But the room was was far from basic, and Rome can be expensive (even for hostels)
Excellent host met us to handover the keys. We only stayed for one night but she gave us a bunch of recommendations for restaurants as well as Chiesa di Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini which is right up the road. I have stayed in quite a few rentals throughout Italy and this was the first without a moka pot, but there was a coffee maker available. For the price I would absolutely stay here again, super convenient to many of the places you'll want to see in Rome.
We had a wonderful weekend in Rome! It's a family hotel with very friendly and helpful hostesses - Francesca and her mother. The hotel offers stylish and comfortable rooms equipped with everything you need: a fridge, a kettle, a TV. The bed is very comfortable, and the area is quiet. I especially want to mention the delicious homemade breakfast with eggs, yogurt, ham, pastries and coffee, which is quite diverse for Italy. I highly recommend staying at this hotel👍
The hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from Roma Termini station. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there was a good selection at breakfast of both continental and cooked options. We stayed on two occasions on a recent trip to Italy and on our second stay we were upgraded free of charge to a junior suite which was very spacious. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Rome.
The host was very hospitable and friendly and he directed us to the best and nicest places in Rome! The room was in excellent condition and the hotel is in a perfect location. A bonus is that if you’re walking in to the city centre, you will walk past the most amazing Gelateria, Guttilla (definitely worth a try!) We will definitely be coming back and staying at Guest’s heaven if we are going back to Rome!
The room was incredibly spacious and stylish and the roof top terrace also had amazing views of Rome. The location is great if you are catching the train around Italy and was only a 5 minute walk away. The staff at the front desk where excellent, we were greeted by Omar who gave us a great rundown of the hotel and gave fabulous restaurant and gelato recommendations.
We have been road tripping through Italy and stayed at so many hotels, but this one was THE BEST!!! Perfect location, nice staff, and soooo modern and clean rooms with soooo comfortable beds and pillows. We felt like home and slept reallt good. We only stayed for one night, but this hotel will be our ”go to” everytime we visit Rome in the future!! Ten out of ten
Very clean rooms, comfortable and nice looking I think the best hotel we have experienced so far in Italy. Just next to the metro station and away from the crowd - best location to explore Rome The host is very friendly. I was did not want to leave as I felt so relaxed and wanted to stay longer.
Fabulous hotel in great position in Rome. The most comfortable beds in Italy. No I am not kidding!! Great roof top bar/ breakfast area. Fabulous breakfast. What else, great shower too and product!! What more could you ask for. It's a perfect holiday right here!!
Beautiful boutique hotel right in the centre of Rome. Excellent modern facilities, well appointed rooms and large bathrooms which is a rarity in Italy! Excellent location for sightseeing and also a shopping destination too. I highly recommend the hotel.
this is the best hotel we stayed in Italy. it is new, but everything is perfect: rooms are big and stylish, staff is very helpful, the hotel is perfect in all details. and it is located in the best part of Rome!
will definitely stay here again.
We booked many hotels on our vacation across Italy. None came close to Domus Romantica. Most comfortable bed, most romantic ambiance, most elegant design, and most communicative and accommodating staff hands down.
I didn’t like anything because they didn’t let us in .. and they send is to other hotel. And send us to third hotel is so far from the center my first day in italy is lost because of this hotel
Very well decorated. Very well managed. Clean. Great location and close to everything. Loved the high ceilings and though close to Termini, not too close. Unusually large room for Italy hotels.
The warmth of the staff was exceptional.
The location of the hotel just could not be better for those wanting to be at the centre of Rome, Italy and the Universe.
