Ostuni, like other towns in Puglia is a hilly, ancient, cobbled street tourist haven. Our visit in late September had fewer crowds and good weather. Eating in the tourist areas was less enjoyable than finding an excellent restaurant packed with local people and serving delicious specialties. It's wonderful name in English is "The Usual Place" (Il Solito Posto).
It is a good base for exploring the many interesting local sites, the lively nightlife and for day travels to nearby towns and villages.

Beautiful white city 15 mins from the sea.
Beautiful white city 15 mins from the sea. The old town is steep and has lots of steps but totally worth the climb.Car hire recommended for trips to other nearby towns such as Locorotondo, Alberobello and seaside towns of Monopoli and Polignano A Mare which although can be reached by train and bus due to timetables can take more than double the time to reach. We will definitely return to this stunning part of Italy.

Italy at its best.
Italy at its best. It may not be beachside, but you can see the sea from the terraces and from east-facing bars and restaurants. You KNOW you’re in Italy when you approach the main square. If you’re self-catering, there’s a number of decent mini-supermarkets within 10 to 15 minutes’ walk of the square. Lots of bijoux shops right off the square. A lovely green park full of Italian gents chatting about their day, just up the street. Ostuni is a great introduction to Puglia. A ride in a tuc-tuc style tourist buggie through the tiny backstreets (especially at night) is an unforgettable experience.

Loved Ostuni but at times too crowded with tourists.
Loved Ostuni but at times too crowded with tourists. Driving around the small streets and parking a problem if you have a larger car.
Went to a few beaches near Ostuni but very dirty with rubbish.

Ostuni is known as "The White City" because in years gone by it was thought that the lime in the white-wash would kill off some nasty pestilence that was doing the rounds. It didn't but they carried on anyway.
Only two museums (that I could find), and no art galleries (that I could find) but the little alleys reveal nice little restaurants which are cheaper than those in the main square. No shortage of ABCs though!
Do try the "fave" - cooked and skinned broad beans that they smash into a puree and serve usually with greens. If you come across deep-fried broad beans snap them up. They are like little crunchy crisps and we bought some from a street vendor in Alberobello (only to be visited at dawn, before the hordes get there).

The white city is a very good base to explore Puglia region.
The white city is a very good base to explore Puglia region. It's full of charm, beautifull architecture and magazine covers alleys.
For the beach, Spiaggia of Torre Lapillo (Ionian Sea) is amazing with cristal clear waters. Lido Bacino Grande is a good option to spend the day.
For visiting don't miss Locorotondo.
Feels like home.
We were warmly welcome by Lucia, and ou stay was exquisite.
Everyone was available to help us and acomodate in the best possible way our stay.
We are 5 minutes walk from the center of Ostuni.
We chose to spent 10 days in this location and travel on one day trips in the puglia, it was us (couple + a kid) the perfect combination to discover the region between trips and swimming pool.
We have done everything in train, the network is good and cheap.
Loved the cool, clear and refreshing pool; the quiet, tranquil setting surrounded by olive trees; the friendly, helpful, and attentive owners Gianlucca and Nicola; convenient laundry facilities; good location makes days trips to Otranto, Grotta della Poesia, Torre dell’Orso, Ostuni, Lecce, Alberobello and many beaches amd beach clubs possible. Just exactly what we wanted in our stay at a quintessential Apulian masseria. Grazie Mille Gianlucca and Nicola… Arrivederci!
Outstanding property with amazing stuff and a wonderful pool! The quality of food is amazing!
The surroundings, the breakfast, the rooms… everything is much more than you could expect… the south of Italy also has much more to offer than what you think! Staying in Apulia is never a bad idea…super friendly people, delicious food and cute little villages!! The property is like 30 min away from the beautiful coast and 20 min from the city of Ostuni!
Wow. Just wow. We stumbled across this hotel by chance as we are travelling around Italy and booking a new hotel each day - how fortunate we were to get a booking here!
No money has been spared into transforming this what I can only assume was a previous town house into this luxury home
If you have the opportunity to stay here I’ll spare you the details so you get your own “wow factor” when you walk through the door. It is absolutely stunning!
Cannot praise this place more! Matteo, the host, is absolutely wonderful, goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and makes great cappuccino! The hotel itself is a very beautiful palazzo and everything in it is thought through to the tiniest details. The hotel also offers a private parking which saved us a lot of headache! Palazzo Stunis would elevate your stay in Ostuni, no doubt in that, making you want to never leave it!
You are immersed in the Ostuni life, litteraly steps from everything. This place is the real deal...you can feel the authenticity with no renounce of comfort. Everything is there, and you can breathe tradition at same time.
Special thanks to Caterina, that she welcomed us and she went far and behind and expectations. Caterina was very accommodating and helped us in every aspect, she is definitely the face of the "accoglienza" in Puglia.
Fabulous! Best B&B in our Italy trip, one of the very best in our 50 years of travelling. Breakfast is abundant, delicious! Julia and Ron are very welcoming, communicative and helpful. The house, the pool, the country side surroundings make it a great base for visiting Ostuni, Alberobello, Matera etc, or for resting and farniente by the pool. Thank you Julia and Ron.

Beautiful and charming property, in quiet, peaceful surrounding, within a few minutes drive to closest bars and restaurants and near the seaside. Perfect for a relaxing trip and as a base for sightseeing Puglia.
The staff was very kind and helpful.
We especially loved being surrounded by fruit trees and plants around the property, and the delicious breakfast.
Wonderful stay with honestly the best hosts! They make sure you are feeling right at home!
Not far 10min drive to Ostuni. We loved the breakfast they provided every morning. The place was so clean! They gave us great recommendations on places to eat and beaches to go. We were sad to leave. Hopefully we will be back!
We biked in Puglia and stayed at Masseria Valente two nights. we ride two loops from the Masseria. it is about 3 miles from Ostuni where there was east and free parking. we ate two dinners at Masseria Valente. Everything about the visit was great. we recommend it for a terrific place at affordable prices.
Everything was beautiful. Furnishing superb, lovely big open living space, well stocked kitchen, lovely pool area, comfy beds, beautiful building. Lovely and quiet in large grounds but 10 mins to Ostuni and Ceglie. Been to Puglia 12 times and this was the best villa by far.
Great stay for 2 couples with separate bedrooms and en suites. Beautiful, large terrace. The steps up to the terrace are tricky if someone has mobility issues. Nicely stocked with a few basics and we were able to do a little cooking. Good base for exploring Puglia.
Angelo was extremely helpful and polite. Gave us tons of tips on things to do and places to visit. He made us feel like we were home. An amazing location, a few minutes away from breathtaking beaches and 10 mins from Ostuni. Will definitely come back!
Our host welcomed us very warmly and was always happy to help and provide us with information about Ostuni. The location is great, central and quiet. We especially enjoyed the rooftop and can definitely recommend this accommodation in Puglia.
Beautiful villa, with everything you need and more. Amazing design and facilities - like home but much better! Great location amongst the olive trees, a very short drive from Ostuni and a great base for exploring Puglia.
The staff and food were INCREDIBLE! I had written ahead about my gluten allergy and they had home-made gluten-free goodies waiting for me! The dinners were among the best we had our entire time in Italy.
After staying in several much smaller protestors throughout Italy, this property was such welcomed space! It’s clean, well appointed and in a fantastic easy location. Highly recommend.
It was such a lovely experience and an amazing way to end our trip to Italy!
Such a lovely family running the hotel and I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone!
